  • i love this dresses.. but i dont wanna look like an idiot wearing this in the streets alone..

  • It would be damn nice to see women start wearing those again. These are indeed stylish. Fashion is not style, and I have to say the fashion of today does not have style.

PS. Raquel Torres is my new muse.

  • Simply delightful.

  • The one thing that really catches my attention are her perfect teeth!

  • My, my! Those actress look very fetching, especially Laura LaPlante! =D

  • I love flapper fashion, its also my fav time period... I love fashion but I hate shopping because nowaday's fashion is not pretty

  • what is the song called? :)

  • @hinattiie Love Me Tonight by Annette Hanshaw :D I plan on learning this tune!

  • Yeah. I was born in the wrong time period. Nowadays, what's "in" seems to be looking like a prostitute.

  • @AriaInTheSky and a cheap prostitute at that.

  • The women were so pretty back then! Love it!

  • The real star for me was that old car with the beautiful girl stepping out of it! Anybody know what make and year of vehicle that was?

  • Funny thing is in real life people didnt dress like that in every day life. Most regular people couldnt afford those type of clothing.

  • Simply stunning!!! What an era!!!!!!!!!

  • This is great.

  • @den123mate ... What?

  • Ruth elder, the girl in this video, also a famous woman flyer and actress in a oscar nominated silent film, was my grandpa's cousin <3

  • what is the song in this video

  • gorgeous fashions!

    lovely song!

    bravo!

  • wow, 1920's color. 0:50 that hat looks like something my little sister pasted together in 6th grade. matching bag.

great vid, the historical aspect is timeless. hats were still all the rage, a remnant of people spending most of their time outside, fashioned up.

  • So...so...relaxing...beautiful.

  • I used to date the red head with the green hat.

  • So lovely, I just love 20s fashion. I don't have the figure for it as I have absolutely too big boobs but I still love it. :)

  • .50 is a gorgeous set. I love fashion and girls who have a sence of fashion.

  • love this !!!!

  • According to her grave Raquel Torres would be 13 years old here .....which I very much doubt! But she is desperately pretty.

  • These felt appliques are very interesting! and the color adds a whole new element.

  • wonderful!!!!

  • I love the 1920s style. its really gorgeous. I also really like that its in color. It funny that the online news freaks out when they find a 1940s picture in color, but now when there are 1920s movies in color..

  • Now THAT'S the way women are suppose to be.

And with the lovely Annette Hanshaw singing in the background, one wishes a time machine were handy.

  • Man that must have felt very liberating for the women at the time.

  • It was nice to see Laura La Plante of "Cat and the Canary" fame in color. It's nice to see Raquel Torres at all.

  • who sings this song whats the name of it?

  • @archie977 Love Me Tonight - Annette Hanshaw

  • It's a little mind blowing to watch a film from the 1920s in color. We sometimes forget that the world wasn't all black and white back then.

  • Oh shes gorgeous x

  • My greatgrandma was a flapper, my mom was a hippie :D

  • @Jodog1001 Where does this leave you?

  • @Jodog1001 What is a flapper? I've never heard of them.

  • @curlzferrero...A young woman from the Roaring Twenties that lived life to the fullest.

  • The vocalist is unmistakenably Annette Hanshaw

  • WOW!!! BETTER THAN TLC!!!

  • lol these videos are great.

  • I was born in the wrong era :(

  • @americanhersheybar Same here

  • ..<3 great

  • Can you tell me please what the sound track is to this and suggest any good music with a similar sound? thanks :)

  • @liza6458 The singer is Annette Hanshaw. See if you can find a copy of "Flappers, Vamps and Sweet Young Things". It's a compilation of white female Jazz singers from the 1920s to early-1930s. It's one of the best. You could try to download it online.

  • Awesome!%*****Ah..beautiful...

  • Take me back to the glamour age!

  • So beautiful...

  • Thank yo so much for showing us what the fashions looked like in color! Fantastic.

  • song?!?! someone please help me

  • This is fantastic! thanks for sharing! :)

  • Tis cool because they look different than ladies of today but they sre sill the sme just unique cosmetics are used. Many makeup artists still have trouble recreating the same makeup technique used during the time.

  • love it !!!!!! i sometimes wish we would still wear hats, furs and all that fun stuff lol :)

  • the fashions now for women are among the ugliest I have ever seen. they have no shape. awkward 3/4 sleeves, empire waists that make everyone look pregnant. yuck!

  • Well actually, the fashions are becoming better, it's just that people wear ugly things. Fashions you describe were fashion 2 years ago. Currently, shoulderpads, thin tiny waists and long dresses are fashionable. Shape is all current fashion has. Saddly noone wears these fashions because they are so conservative.

  • @ivanofna

I agree entirely!! I mean, look at some of the fashions nowadays. Chanel, for example. So many beautiful clothing. It's just the people that you see out on the street everyday aren't wearing it.

  • yes becuse ur indie shit at the moment is so much better, and so orginal.

  • @maryquant1967 I have to disagree. I love empire dresses and blouses, they are quite comfortable and graceful. Empire waist normally flatters any figure. It's bad fitting (women getting sizes too small or the woman chooses to not wear a bra) and bad design (the waist being for too high or there are too many gathers in the center front or the color dont suit them) that ruins the figure.

  • @maryquant1967 Yeah. And they were designs that inspired...Mary Quant.

  • @maryquant1967 Y'know, it IS possible to praise the past without denigrating the present.

  • @maryquant1967 One of the reasons I do not like Empire waist fashion nowadays...

  • @maryquant1967 3/4 sleeves are one of the better things of today's fashion.. but agree everything else is just plain ugly.

  • @maryquant1967 and the cheapest material

  • @barramayra86 Yeah, killing dogs for fashion is so much fun....

  • @barramayra86 Why not! Do it!

  • rare color stuff! 20s style is great: music cars clothes etc.

  • 1920s fashion is pretty colorful. The color of which is lost in the black and white photographs most often taken during the decade.

  • Wunderschön ... danke.

  • lovely...i totally love the felt cloche and bag at :52....

  • love the 20's!!!!!! I'm so in the wrong era lol......could you please tell me the name of this song?? its so beautiful

  • In the 1920's were tough, but had its charms, the music, greetings from Europe Spain

  • Anyone know the name of the song ?

  • Annette Hanshaw - Love Me Tonight

  • The song is called Love Me Tonight, and is sung by Annette Hanshaw. Lovely, isn't it?

  • I like the hat at 1.25 :)

  • charming
