Epiphone is a "legit" guitar maker. Made by Gibson since 1954. I too was an Epi basher until I bought one. Epiphone Les Paul for $400. $500 for upgrades. And the $900 Epi will match a $4000 Les Paul. And I've heard many that will send "the real guitar" Gibson, running home cryin for mama.

Jrock; Epiphone IS Gibson. They bought it a couple decades ago. Nothing wrong with Epi , less expensive, entry level guitars, but there is a big difference between a Epi SG and a Gibson.

Yes, you are right about the fact that eppiphone is a good company, but some people like myself may pay for a Gibson for 1. Bragging rights, 2. Gibsons are much better guitars than eppiphone because if everyone thought the same way you do than Gibson would go out of business.

First off no there not made by children. Read this very close. Since top luthier Michael Voltzs left Gibson and joined Epiphone in 2001 his goal was to make Epiphone a great guitar company once again. Today He has done that and more. Most of today's Sg's And Lp's are of top professional quality and its All because of Mike Voltzs. Most or today's Epiphones are every bit Gibsons equal and better and again because of Michael Voltzs Epiphone will continue to be a great guitar company.
