  • That was a shelf mount

They used it in Film Riot

  • lol, i went to amazon to look for the pieces and im guessing this rig is so popular that all the parts pretty much just showed up in the "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought" section.

  • @tracer678 absolutely, my experience was the same, all I had to buy were the screws etc and a new metal bit for the drill...

  • if im not wrong this is no jaybalizer!!!!! i believe its made from a ladder hook no????

  • a jabila wha?

  • lol i bought a merlin look alike one in japan for about 4600 yen

  • I have the same lens hood. : )

  • Interesting concept. Nice. I just did a series on 5D Filmmaking. Cheers.

  • hi do u think this will be ok for for cannon 550 d

  • i think this is so awsome, can you please tell me if the quick release plate you are using is metal made or hard plastic? thank you so much.

  • @ersogcho The quick release plate is the Manfrotto 357 quick release adapter and it is constucted from aluminum.

  • if its 100 dolars make it neeter

  • Would this work well with a Canon 7D?

  • Lol..i can build the same for 20-30$??..:D....

  • @Kwintreepler The Manfrotto 357 quick release plate cost $49 alone.

  • How much weight can this stabilizer support? Thanks!

  • @Never1Forgotten1 I've used with rigs up to 3 pounds.

  • I'm trying to fill in the contact on the internetsite but it doesn't work. I have a few questions....

    Can you send to holland?

And is the 3000 compatible with my Sanyo VPC FH1 camcorder?

I want to order the Jaybilizer3000

    grtz Nick form holland

  • @NickiGreenEyes I am no longer manufacturing the fully assembled Jaybilizer 3000. For the Sanyo FH1 I would recommend the Modosteady stabilizer from Manfrotto.

  • @JayShafferVideo I've seen video's with the modosteady but i don't like it. Do you think it will work with my cam?

    grtz

  • Would you say that I should be making a homemade Steadicam for a big camera like the Sony HVR HD1000U??

  • @Genesimmonsrocks Heavier cameras do not work well with Merlin-type stabilizers, for heavier cameras you need to build something more like the Glidecam-type stabilizer.

  • i was wondering where i could buy a gimbal joint and handle?

  • @aiden1258

Contact me from the contacts tab at the jaybilizer website. and I can fix you up.

  • Great video!

  • thanks for providing this ! Very inventive and impressive!

  • jaybilizer? HAHAHAHA! There are much cheaper diy's on youtube that do a better better job.

  • @nic3188 I have to agree with Nic3188. I have my own DIY that costs approximately $10 and although it doesn't work as well as this one, for the price you can't beat mine. Just get any u shape bar and a good gimbal and you're set.

Jaybilizer is still good stuff but the price is not as good.

  • thanks i love the video ... how much it cost for you to build one for me ???

  • Jay looks like Ringo Star with the glasses

  • Nice video but quite an expensive DIY... Don't think it's worth the money and time if you own a small handy cam... nowadays there are factory made stabilizers for small camera's available at just the same price as this DIY.

  • Hey Jay, if you can come up with a design that works well with the upcoming Canon Rebel T2i you might sell a lot. There is a lot of buzz about this camera. Looks like it will be able to do 7D video at a much lower price.

  • hey jay...I bought all the stuff and i´m trying to build it up, but at 5:18 I could´nt do what u are doing, and u are covering with your hands, so I cant see ecxactly what r u doing...can u help me?

were are u pressing? I cant have it done

  • I am tightening the 1/4" screww on the top of the tripod into the single hole in the Lowel Interlink. the screw should be long enough to secure the 5/8" horizontal stud.

Hope this helps. good luck with your build and happy shooting.

  • that looks a WHOLE lot like my old jaybilizer 2950...you SURE it's the 3000?

  • HaHa! I'm waiting for the Jaybilizer 3000 2.0.

    Seriously, this is very cool.

  • Hey can we see some footage of that thing in Use... I would like to see how well it works before I go to buy the parts.

  • would you recommend this for a sony fx7?

  • No, you need a hug one for that!

  • Very go video my question is I'm seeing similar manufactured stabilizers on ebay for 89.00. Would it be better to build my own or buy that one? Is so why? thank you for your time.

  • Amazing job.Greetings from Romania.

  • very good!!!

such a mess that we dont get american parts, like screws and stuff here in germany because we have the metric system ;( go on !

    fascinating!

    Greetings from s/w germany

    Uwe

  • we have metric system too in Uruguay but screws and that sort of stuff comes in inches, don't know why.

It's easy to translate it to metric ; )

  • Great job! Nice use of DIY.

  • nice video this will help me making one myself.

  • thanks man you are awesome
