O caboverdiano é uma construção nacionalista que procura reescrever a história, sempre se chamou crioulo, as outras linguas crioulas derivadas do ingles, frances é que tomaram o nome de "crioulo", dos crioulos de cabo verde e da guine por serem os primeiros. O crioulo nao é nenhuma mistura de portugues com linguas africanas, a isso chama-se uma lingua mista, nada tem a ver com crioulos de BASE portuguesa. Além de que nao existe um unico crioulo em cabo verde, existem varios.

Kabuverdianu is a national language of Cabo Verde. Every linguist will confirm this. It is no broken Portuguese, but an independent language developed from 15th century Portuguese and West African languages. It has nothing to due with modern Continental Portuguese. that's not true, African influences in the capeverdean creole are risidual. And that ethnologue info is ridiculous. It is not an independent "language", that is just being politically correct. A Creole is a creole, go see if ethnologue classfies it under indo-european or something. Wake UP!

You have no idea what you are talking about? Of course it's a new language. 80-90% of the words have been altered from it's orginaly form into new words. There is no official rule to when a dialect crosses over into a new language. But if they show a CV speaking pure CV creole in Portugal and they have to use subtitles it's pretty safe to say, it's crossed that threshold.

Hello I am Capeverdian too. We have no language named Kabuverdianu. It is a Portuguese Creole, which we refer as Kriolu. I'm pround to have Portuguese and African in my heritage. That's what creole means; A mixture of culture between Europe and Africa, and that's us. Viva Cabo Verde!
