Have you seen Sony's line of lenses... They have some of the nicest lenses you can find, they have some beautiful Zeiss and G series lenses and don't forget Sony bought out Minolta.... Minolta had been making cameras for years and had some dam nice cameras at that. And including all of the older Minolta lenses you can get for your alpha, I'd say Sony is doing pretty well.
Because the Sony was slow (only 2 Fps) the Nikon is 3 Fps. Nikon is generally a better brand of cameras. Sony makes tones of other things, Nikon mostly specializes in Cameras. I like the feel of the Nikon more than I did the Sony. The have a way better selection of lenses. And the last thing is that Nikon has had almost every major camera breakthrough and they continue to have the Leading cameras.
I disagree. I've had D60 in the past, and its a fantastic camera, however, the Sony just feels better, and sharper images. However, the only problem with it is if you wanna upgrade your lens. Sony lens's are releatively expensive. But in general, me personally would recommend the Sony A350 over Nikon D60.
Why with the Sony I have a 18-70mm and 75-300mm with 2 Compact Flash Cards and I Sling Case for only 100 bucks more. And if I would of gotten the 40d it would of been like 1500 or 1600 with the lens. And the place where I got it they where having a special on the sony 75-300mm Lens. And the last thing I don't need that kind of camera mines fine.
Oh Alright :). And ya I know I have wanted a DSLR for a very long time and I thought this would be a great camera for the price it was 1,000 for everything which isn't that bad for a pretty respectable DSLR. I have been using it in practice for about 2 days now. And I will have to say it's a really great camera. I just put up a video showing the quality of the camera all the pictures where shoot by me it's also in HD or should be.

I got the 75-300mm Lens for $50. Because Best Buy was having a package sale, so you got the Body the 18-70mm and the 75-300mm for like 1,000$.

It's actually really cool it uses altra sonic vibrations to clean the sensor an low-pass filter I believe, i'm positive that it does on the sensor.
