I went to China about 2 1/2 years ago, and the cops are actually not as bad as they seem.

In fact, they are actually easy to get along with, especially towards foreigners.

They are even very adaptable with foreign customs. For example, they are not afraid to use western customs like the handshake.

Ah but thats because you dont see it. In China, police hide all these little speed cameras behinds bushes and stuff on the highways. They call them electronic cops. When you speed, it takes picture of your license plate and mail you a ticket. Chinese police rarely actually pull you over on highways but they do in cities. Traffic is even more strict in cities but they are all very nice people.
