I'm saying scratching and beat juggling must be easier, thuogh I've never practiced on one, I just grew up in the days of classic dmc battles were all there was two tirntables and a mixer, not even headphones
This shit ain't the same as vinyl, much easier! Technology is taking away from the turntabilist, the real hip hop art, you used to have to learn the real way by marks on the record, and be soft in the hands but still scratch, soon enuogh djing will be as easy as just pushing buttons, its sad man!
@Darren9707 i wouldnt say cdjs are easier or shit. i love vinyl too but i use my ears to beatmatch when using cd decks and dont press buttons to get everything lined up for me the way people assume you do. it takes skill/practice to dj well on turntables but its just as easy to stuff up on cdjs. I assume you mean the people who start dj'ing without much practice and rely on bpm counters or pc software etc to do the work?
Alright J. What do u think of the cdj900? I'm in the process of saving 4 a pair & was just thinking u might be able 2 tell me if they're worth it? Because they're expensive & I just want 2 be sure before I part with all that cash. Thanx in advance. PS love the vids man. Peace...DJTrueSoul.
*wicked good demo!!! i love vinyl turntables, but i'm warming up to the cdj's.* i'm a big fan of all your vid's. very helpful. * via comment BOSTON MASSACHUESETTS, U.S.A*
If its a mac, only the Mac pro. I suggest a dula core with 2 g of ram and XP only. I've set up soooo many laptops and people have complained about there laptops haveing issues with Vista and 7. I'm sick of saying the same thing over and over. XP!!!
Your video's get so boring after a while. speed things up a bit, this does not have to be at a speed for beginners because beginners don't have pioneer cdj 900's.
Ive nearly got it all now but one more thing =D when you buy your vinyl records how do you know they are going to mix...? do you listen to the demos to make sure they are going to go together...if so what do you look out for ....or is it that every record mixes with another? :S
I know but like the tutorial he does on them both start with just loads of bass beats or something....so its easy to match them up but for others they might both having singing on at the start does that mean its not going to work? :S
oh yea.. its stupid to have 2 lyrics going on at the same time.. you could make your own remake.. and then its much easier to mix.. or just make a perfect drop.
i have a question, is this a tutorial or demonstration or also an explanation ??? in another words , who gives a shit ? the videos are good but do we have to hear this everytime .
oh one more question on the website when it says like £2.00 for both tracks in mp3 does that mean you get like the track to put onto a cd yourself then the other one that says 12" is an actual record? and since most of them are 12" im guessing thats going to be the size i need :S
does anyone here know how to set up a vinyl to the computer because im thinking of getting a vinyl tables cuz there cheaper and i heard of like control vinyl how does that work?
@xunit123 you will have to buy a program like serato scratch live, or traktor to use your computer with your vinyl turntables. Might cost you around $700. You get the program, control vinyl, and the box needed to connect everything.
He's gotta at least TRY to sound like he is teaching people something if he wants to continue to get all of his FREE equipment from the vendors. Even if he really isn't. IT MUST BE NAMM TIME! LOL!
Agreed! I remember when Jonathan was just a fellow dj anxious to share his skills. Now he and BrianSRedd are just gear whores trying to tell everyone how great the free stuff that they get are. Those mixmash cds are shit! At least J is whoring out for pioneer, not American Audio like Brian!
It's got to a point now where it's just comedy that can't be taken seriously!
Pointless video, i feel dumber from watching this, I think even a monkey could figure this stuff out the first time it used a CDJ. If you cant figure this out you probs shouldnt even think about taking up DJing...this is probs the worst video i seen ellaskins do yet....
Your guides are brilliant, I want to get in to DJing and thanks to you i'm starting to understand alot even before I get a DJ set! Keep up the good work!
