  • this ain't too good, if you know Yatkha and ADF live then you realise how dissapointing this song is!

  • it sounds like "hare hare krisha" or sth.

  • i guess you can label this a sleng teng if yur talkin bout the overtone singin that Pompidoo is famous for especially with the song Synthesizer Voice. but if yuh talkin dancehall then this is no sleng teng. this is just overtone vocalizing. when you say sleng teng us reggae fans are lookin to hear a certain bassline. the sleng teng is one of the most used and most versioned riddims of dancehall. my buddy Runitselectah has a riddim mix of the REAL SLENG TENG... now GWAN N CHECK IN!

    so it's that.

  • ..cool track,so natural feelin`...

  • For more interesting info check Wikipedia on "Ovetrone singing"

    And enjoy the tune ;)

  • @stenky9 Or check out Huun Huur Tu - Prayer.

  • @CatGameDaiyE *thumbs up*

  • Wiki: "Sleng Teng is the name given to the first fully computerised riddim in Jamaican music" although this performance is called "overtone singing, overtone chanting or throat singing"

By changing the shape of mouth cavity, larynx and pharynx, you can amplify some sound waves made by human voice. This resonant tuning allows the singer to create more than one pitch at the same time.

  • Many cultures used overtone but the most famous is asian throat singing. Many, many names for different techniques: Sygyt, Kargyraa, Chylandyk and more

The Sami people of the northern parts of Sweden, Norway, Finland and the Kola Peninsula in Russia, have a singing genre called Yoik.
