@MrMerocker Glocks have 3 built in saftey mechanisms. Off hand I think it was a firing pin safety, a drop safety and a trigger safety. Now if you're taking a safety toggle dial like I had on the side of my M16a2, no a hand gun doesn't need that. A holstered glock is not shooting anything till you move your finger down to squeeze the trigger. I've seen first timers at the range let them fly out of their hands and smash into rocks and concrete and freak out cause they think it's going to go off.
