looks like all the crashes were from cocky or over confident people trying to show off or impatient ones. seems like if youre a safe and responsible person you'll be fine
Before I rode Street Bikes, I started off on a 125cc (dirt bike) at the age of 13.. Then I stepped up into the bigger cc's like the 250cc dirt bike when I hit 17 .. If your a new cyclist, I would urge young teens or even adults, to start off on a dirt bike, get the feel of it. Then work your way up to the street bikes like I did. Its safer, you become more comfortable with yourself, and your bike.
ok, so i was finally successful today in convincing my mom to let me ride a motorcycle to school after trying for weeks now. but this video just scared the crap out of me. walking to school isnt so bad..
Im going to be learning to ride a motorbike soon - at the age of 21, im going to make sure i start slow - stay in my limits and ensure im safe (full protective clothing). Im going to do my CBT (here in the UK) i have been watching safty videos on motorbiking to improve my chances of avoiding a crash.I cant wait, but im never going to be cocky - i will always assume im a novice and have much to learn.
Ride safe is the most important thing to do.Many drivers on this vid couldn´t even handle proper braking technique or steering/ counter steering and how to take a simple curve...The Dude on the Harley trying to make a wheelie but he couldn´t use the brakes..Disaster..THANKS FÖR THE CLIP VERY GOOD...NICE IDEA...Keep on!!
I am a REALLY new rider! and I am sooooooo glade that i saw your video!! i am active duty Navy and will be recommending this video to my Command Master Chief to make New riders at my command look at!!
I'm also 17,wanting a bike, but clueless. My parents clearly don't approve of it. I know the moment I sit on that bike i'm risking my own life, but hey you only live once, and if I do die then well.... I was too good for life.
@CherryDye Take motorcycle training classes. start with a smaller engine size. ALWAYS wear full protection gear. start on small roads, work up to highways, etc. Learn to work the clutch, gas, brakes until you practically do it without thinking. people who drive stick-shift cars know about that. practice practice practice. And yes, even if you do all that, a car driver still can hit you for what ever reason. you may have to wait until you're 18 yrs old if your parents wont let you.
@steventean i know what you mean, but that's like saying, drive a car slow all the time. you can't drive a car slow all the time. the problem is= going too fast beyond your ability. to learn in the beginning, yes, go slow. but you MUST learn how to control the bike at all speeds eventually. occasionally, speeding up can actually SAVE your life, in certain situations. it's a matter of learning to CONTROL the bike, not let it control you.
This is why I'm glad that here in the UK, you MUST have training from a professional instructor who's fully qualified, in order to even be allowed onto public roads as a "learner" biker. This is then followed by more professional training and test to gain your full motorcycle licence. Most accidents which are the biker's fault here, are young learners who are too cocky and who don't have the skill to match their attitude.
@Stormhead0912 I wouldn't touch a bike until I took a motorcycle safety course. Afterwards, I was so hooked on motorcycles that I eventually bought one, but I would advise *anyone* looking to ride take a training course. It even helps when you're in a car.
@luisronaldofigo I remember one dude at a stoplight passed me up in the curve of the intersection to show me how much more powerful his bike was than my 150cc scooter (what a joke). He popped a wheelie and hovered there for a couple of seconds, and all I could think was "what an idiot". If your going to try to show someone how awesome your bike is, at the very least don't compare yourself to a Chinese scooter.
i beg to differ my first bike was a 99cbr919rr if you got experiance with fourwheelers or dirt bikes it helps out tremendously in learning to ride a street bike. just take it slow like i did and after a few thousand miles you will be good at riding. but i think starting out on a larger bike makes it so you dont do stupid stuff cause you know the power is there. on a 250 your gonna wind the bike out cause you have to. then when you wind out a bigger bike your fucked
thanks for the video, there are a lot of silly motorcycle riders to blame but most of the times its the dumb blind stupid fucking drivers that don't look out for motorbikes
I am thinking about buying a motorcycle but after seeing some of these crashes i'm not so sure.. Thanks for posting this in any case it is really helpful
how can you tell anyone "Don't be very stupid.." :D If someone is stupid, they usually don't know it, and don't believe it. And usually there is nothing anyone can do about someone being stupid :D
alright, everybody i need some advice, and here is my situation, im 17 years old, have no motorcycle license whats so ever (but working on it) no motorcycle training, and i want to be able to purchase and own a bike. i want a sportbike, but thats where im concerned, since im a noobie, is it a good choice to start with a powerful bike like a 2007 Yamaha R1? i would enjoy on your feedback, so that the situations on the video dont happen to me, please answer me by e-mail licon45@hotmail.com
@TheBrailo Ask your instructor, see what he says. I read the R1 cranked out 156.4 hp peak, Torque of 74.9 lb-ft at 9600 rpm . What size/type of bike for a beginner? You'll get different answers from different people. For me, I'm old school. I say, don't rush. Start with a 400-650cc size bike. Learn how to ride, different weather, road conditions, traffic. After a year or two, then move up. You can not go wrong starting small. But u can get into trouble on a too fast of a bike. Ride on Bro.
@starzship I've recently become interested in riding a motorbike, though, I hear so many young people die on them (including a work friend of mine). Do you know whether the vast majority of bikers killed are from young inexperienced bikers, who can't anticipate danger? Now that I'm older (24) and have been driving for 6 years, I wonder whether I can make the transition to bikes and not jeopedize my safety too much. I would very much appreciate your opinion. Thankyou
@TheBrailo i would say get a r6 first then trade up later after you gain some confidence. a few weeks ago i was going to trade my r6 in for a zx10r but i wanted to check out the insurance before i bought it. and in the time it took me to check on that this kid came in and bought the bike out from under me. he had never ridden before, and as he was leaving the parking lot he didnt estimate the power of the bike and popped the clutch and was killed 50 feet from where he started. be careful!
@TheBrailo Since your brains ability to judge risk will not mature until you are 25, go with a small bike. (This is why you can't rent a car until 25 years old) Get something like a 250cc Ninja. Yea its small, but it will prevent you from killing yourself. You'll enjoy working your way up into bigger bikes more when you can ride safely and won't be temped to do anything stupid on it - something young guys do easily. Besides, you barely know how to drive a car! Don't ride without health insurance
@TheBrailo NO NO AND NO! GO TO ANY FORUM AND THEY WILL SAY NOT EVEN A 600!!! I have 7 years of hardcore dirtbike experience and im 17. I started on a Sv650, which is not a litrebike. If you just HAVE to buy a sportbike get a ninja 250 a gs500 or a sv650. ANYTHING BUT a 600+! Rememer if you think you will ride for the rest of your life, you have plenty of time to get that R1 or Hayabusa you have been wanting since a kid!
@RikunoFilms the r1 and hyabusa are not the hot ticket anymore the bmw s1000r is the bike. has a better quarter mile than a busa dose over 200mph and looks like a sport bike not a camel. plus it has more power than a busa. just saying everybody is scrambeling to get one of those bikes even the aftermarket world. i think it might be the 177 hp it has i dunno lol
@breethwithme I believe i could have started on a 600 and i have ridden my friends 998 cbr. i beleive its actually 98? Its a great bike and the older models dont have as much hp, although not suggested to start on. I personally started on a 650 because i wanted to be safe and i want riding to be a life long thing, not life taking. Im thinking about upgrading to a cbr 600rr or a gsxr 750 within next year aswell.
@RikunoFilms well the new 600's only have 120hp the 99cbr919rr had 130hp at the rear wheel. so its powerfull enough. it all depends on the rider and how comfortable he is on a bigger bike. they can take a course and they start you off on a small bike, then when you get done you can get the bigger bike. that way they dont spend the extra money on trading it in 6mo down the road. it wont take your life if you have the thinking you do to be safe. witch i do to i dont screw around while riding
mayb r6 gsxr 600 or cbr 600 they have alot of power a r1 without trainning is a death wish i have a gsxr 750 and have 10 years experience and in 1st gear i can get it to 100mph
@TheBrailo at 17 if your living in england like me you have to restrict it anyway and you cant restict 1000's
i personally am 17 andi had a hyosung gt250r (cost me £3000) untill some women decided to drive onto my side of the road and hit me head on, so now i have a restricted 1999 kawasaki er5 and its more then enough, its easy to ride and will still do over 100, says the guy in the shop, ive had 90 ish out of it whilst overtaking and it did that no sweat so i believe him, so start small:D
Wow at the motorcycle on motorcycle accidents...you think a fellow rider would know the dangers already associated with riding. But I guess now I don't feel as bad being the only person I know that rides so all my rides are pretty much only me.
This definately will make me think twice about riding with other people because I sure don't want to ride with any daredevils who will cause me to be in an accident.
Very good tips, starzship. Some vocal narration might have helped out a bit. Several of the crashes could have been avoided if the riders had used proper eye control.
Look where you want to go.
If you're focusing on the obstacle, roadside, or unexpected car, you will probably hit it. This video should be mandatory viewing for all motorcyclists.
Very good. I'm a new rider and I'm off the road because of some first week foolhardy overconfidence. I'm going to show this video to my two supersport-riding friends and remind them that we're only riding together if we ride safely and within our ability.
I bought my new bike with only a little training, though nothing happened but on the way home from the bike store made me regretted for not having sufficient training in prior
lol wheelie on a chopper. How awesome. Honestly though, thanks for posting this video, hopefully a few will learn from this video and become a safer and better rider.
Great video. I'm been interested in getting a bike to save money on gas in city trips. I'm a conservative fellow, and don't even plan on being a show off.
thank you for the amazing video. i want to get a Kawasaki Ninja 250R for my 18th birthday. My dad cant stand sport bikes because he thinks that they atract young guys so they can do stupid shit on them. I knew that i would never try anything like that such as wheelies and endo's but now i deffinetly know i wont do any of that. THANK YOU
Very good video dude. The one crash where two bikes collide with eachother was an awesome video capturing, must've been like 80-90km/ph speed. The biker must have flied in the air.
Hey bikers use head, brain, eyes, gears n brakes , one can never say when accident happens, make sure your passenger also wears atleast a helmet because in accidents most of the time its the passenger who gets hurt the most. So, enjoy the ride, just follow safety and ride safely.
Good job. Important stuff here. It seems to me more and more riders are putting themselves in jeapordy doing the things they do. When I hear about an accident I'd like to hear all the things they don't tell you like rider experience, whether they've had a safety course, were they wearing gear, what bike were they riding, were they stunting, etc. One additional safety tip: I'll even flash my rear brake at a stop light along with keeping it in 1st to ensure the driver coming up behind sees me.
Thank you very much. Just got into a motorcycle accident not four days ago. If I had seen this then maybe it would have helped. But now I know for damn sure.
Very good video, although a bad quality. Lots of important stuff was said. One of the most important stuff: NEVER trust other drivers. Always assume they don't see you. Especially when you pass a Buick with somebody old inside or a minivan, I always slow down when I see them. I usually ride faster than speed limit, but I always have my eyes around my head looking for potential trouble. But only experience and lots of it provides safety on a bike. Ride, ride, ride! Stay safe my friends!
i just bought a harley. my brothers been riding for years and i use to ride his but even for being a noob im not fucking stupid to try and show off or do anything crazy. plus i dont want to drop my baby. = ). be safe. live long. ride forever.
great video. nice to see a safety video rather than these idiots showing off. thats what seems to be the number one cause of these sport bikes crashing is show offs. do the wrong thing and lose ur life
Mate - bit of advice, don't run the text over the top of the image! We want to SEE the image and you've got text running all over it. Put text first and then image. And get rid of the sound effects. I like your idea but your editing is really, really bad.
Hey man im from India and thanks for the message...will try and ride slowly...its been an eye opener...well i ride a 150cc bike here...Its not that fast but it can go at 80km/hr....its pretty fast and traffic conditions here just sucks...so the tips are really gonna be helpful...well safe riding to all bikers out there..
thx man, good vid. Im thinking about getting a bike and this just made me more conscious when i start riding it. I think the guy @ 8:27 got his foot chopped offf. Geez.
thx man, good vid. Im thinking about getting a bike and this just made me more conscious when i start riding it. I think the guy @ 8:27 got his foot chopped offf. Geez.
More people that own bikes and dont know how to ride them should get training. I've been riding since I was 12 years old (41 now) and I still welcome advice and training oppertunities from expert riders. Great video, thanks for spreading the word.
ok so question. I am new to street motorcycles. I want to buy one and do everything safely and correctly. I want the safety gear the training and I want to obey the law and ride safely. I want it instead of a car. That clip at 1:29 however has me very scared. Can I ease my self into it and take it much slower than that guy did? like I want to do it at a snails pace at first. The way that thing just took off and did a wheelie scares the shit out of me. How would I prevent that?
@GibsonElectricI That guy has never been on a motorcycle before. Start on a smaller machine. That motorcycle was HUGE! Possibly 900cc or more. That's a monster first bike, never mind first ride. Listen, hear and follow directions. That's THREE separate things. Do them all. The rider didn't follow basic instructions. There's somebody saying, "don't even give it gas", and then he opens it up. You can take it as slow as you want, just be mindful of your actions and be aware of your surroundings.
Don't get a GSXR for one thing. They are very powerful bikes. Also, if you listen carefully, the guy standing tells the rider to give it a little gas. He didn't need to, as the cameraman said. If you just let off the clutch gently, the engine's idling torque is enough to get you going. Then, you can give it gas.
Just don't ride your first bike 600-1000cc or supersport. Learn to ride on small bike like 125-250cc, enduro or street bike. If you are from US, there is MSF courses where you will learn how to ride. If you don't want to start with MSF or you are not from US and you don't have chance to ride smaller bike, just don't give a gas. Just slowly let clutch off, and bike will move forward without giving a gas - it's called friction zone. Read some books, like MSF online free PDF :) Be safe!
Excellent video mate, the guy with NO protective gear hitting the truck head on was totally avoidable and sad to see to be honest, take heed guys this video should be watched and remembered
to jhardy6617: if the motorcycle is air cooled, the best for this rider is to go the shoulder lane which is less traffic for sure, and there the rider could pass by there instead of lane splitting which is a lot dangerous. often times on a busy slow moving traffic, driver don't usually expect a motorcycle or a vehicle will squeeze by in between small space. best way to go on slow or stuck traffic is use the shoulder lane. if prefer lane splitting,
@:27, this rider could have prevented his head from slamming to the window of the vehicle. how? noticed the rider slammed his bike to
middle of the car. if this rider tried to crash towards the rear wheel of the vehicle his body could have been thrown towards the rear of vehicle without hitting the window or the vehicle. if the rider hit the vehicle toward it's rear, he could have hit the pavement instead the window or vehicle, which could result in less injury or damage to d rider.
i believe i see yellow there, if its in cali lane splitting is legal, if its a air cooled bike and its overheating you cant really stop for traffic and let it overheat now can you?
driver crossed a solid white line if u pause it at 5:57 so if its in cali the drivers fault completly. if its in any other state its both
to some bikers, the motorcycle is a TOY to mess with. to some is a VEHICLE for TRANSPORTATION. unfortunately those who use motorcycle as a toy to play w/ they end up dead or with big hospital bills.
Lets recap d scenes:
1:03 mistake: biker could have used his horn ahead of time to warn the car. both aren't paying attention.
1:56 & 2:17 mistake: these guys don't have proper training and too anxious to go fast. the're both "trottle happy". weakness 2 many 2 many trottle happy.
dont ride in the middle? in the UK you are actually taught to ride in the middle on your CBT... o.O you are always supposed to ride in the middle to show a dominant position of the road.
Take the MSF class. I did, and it was great! I try to be safe, and I love my bike. I've found most drivers to be extra courteous to me on my bike, but sometimes THEY JUST DON'T SEE YOU!!!!!! Ride like they never see you, and don't lose your cool when it happens. Enjoy the ride!
My tip? When you are coming up to an intersection, look at the wheels of the car and not the driver. The driver can be looking you way and still not see you. But you can see the wheels starting to turn and it's and early warning that they may pull out.
I am just a normal cyclist, I am of getting a harley davidson instead of a car , could be dangerous if I ride carefully? cause maybe sometimes it's not the fault of the motorist himself?
One last rule - Don't ride with dipshits. If you don't trust the rider in front of you to not panic break and lay it down in front of you, and you can't trust the rider behind you to give you space and not run up the back of you, then you need a new group to ride with.
And one more important rule for rookies (especially new squids with more money in their bikes than miles under their belts) - Don't ever feel pressured into riding faster than you're comfortable with EVER
Does anybody know what the rider is doing wrong at 1:18. When he finishes showing off he puts his right leg back where it should be and the back tyre wobbles like crazy. Why does that happen and how would you stop it if it did happen?
It's called a tankslapper. and the best thing to do is apply rear brake. It shouldn't happen under normal circumstances, but the video you saw was decieving. He actually placed the front wheel on the ground the same time as he swung his leg over. The front wheel wasn't aligned with his path of travel, and you know.
Watching this video makes me sooo glad my dad tough me how to ride at the age of 7. It also makes me miss my first bike, a little suzuki 2 stroke. My dad could do wheels on the thing without leaning back :0
Learning on a bike with that much power in such a tiny package really teaches you how to use the throttle and clutch. Only laid it down once in mud :D
Excellent vid - can't wait to go out on my bike again.... gulp

alright, everybody i need some advice, and here is my situation, im 17 years old, have no motorcycle license whats so ever (but working on it) no motorcycle training, and i want to be able to purchase and own a bike. i want a sportbike, but thats where im concerned, since im a noobie, is it a good choice to start with a powerful bike like a 2007 Yamaha R1? i would enjoy on your feedback, so that the situations on the video dont happen to me, please answer me by e-mail licon45@hotmail.com
TheBrailo 1 year ago

Thankyou

@TheBrailo i would say get a r6 first then trade up later after you gain some confidence. a few weeks ago i was going to trade my r6 in for a zx10r but i wanted to check out the insurance before i bought it. and in the time it took me to check on that this kid came in and bought the bike out from under me. he had never ridden before, and as he was leaving the parking lot he didnt estimate the power of the bike and popped the clutch and was killed 50 feet from where he started. be careful!
angelofsummons 1 year ago
@TheBrailo Since your brains ability to judge risk will not mature until you are 25, go with a small bike. (This is why you can't rent a car until 25 years old) Get something like a 250cc Ninja. Yea its small, but it will prevent you from killing yourself. You'll enjoy working your way up into bigger bikes more when you can ride safely and won't be temped to do anything stupid on it - something young guys do easily. Besides, you barely know how to drive a car! Don't ride without health insurance
thatmonk1972 1 year ago
@TheBrailo NO NO AND NO! GO TO ANY FORUM AND THEY WILL SAY NOT EVEN A 600!!! I have 7 years of hardcore dirtbike experience and im 17. I started on a Sv650, which is not a litrebike. If you just HAVE to buy a sportbike get a ninja 250 a gs500 or a sv650. ANYTHING BUT a 600+! Rememer if you think you will ride for the rest of your life, you have plenty of time to get that R1 or Hayabusa you have been wanting since a kid!
RikunoFilms 1 year ago
@RikunoFilms the r1 and hyabusa are not the hot ticket anymore the bmw s1000r is the bike. has a better quarter mile than a busa dose over 200mph and looks like a sport bike not a camel. plus it has more power than a busa. just saying everybody is scrambeling to get one of those bikes even the aftermarket world. i think it might be the 177 hp it has i dunno lol
breethwithme 1 year ago
@breethwithme I believe i could have started on a 600 and i have ridden my friends 998 cbr. i beleive its actually 98? Its a great bike and the older models dont have as much hp, although not suggested to start on. I personally started on a 650 because i wanted to be safe and i want riding to be a life long thing, not life taking. Im thinking about upgrading to a cbr 600rr or a gsxr 750 within next year aswell.
RikunoFilms 1 year ago
@RikunoFilms well the new 600's only have 120hp the 99cbr919rr had 130hp at the rear wheel. so its powerfull enough. it all depends on the rider and how comfortable he is on a bigger bike. they can take a course and they start you off on a small bike, then when you get done you can get the bigger bike. that way they dont spend the extra money on trading it in 6mo down the road. it wont take your life if you have the thinking you do to be safe. witch i do to i dont screw around while riding
breethwithme 1 year ago
@TheBrailo hell no dont get a r1 for ur first on
mayb r6 gsxr 600 or cbr 600 they have alot of power a r1 without trainning is a death wish i have a gsxr 750 and have 10 years experience and in 1st gear i can get it to 100mph
Loc299199 1 year ago

Stay safe my friends!

ok so question.
GibsonElectricI 1 year ago
@GibsonElectricI That guy has never been on a motorcycle before. Start on a smaller machine. That motorcycle was HUGE! Possibly 900cc or more. That's a monster first bike, never mind first ride. Listen, hear and follow directions. That's THREE separate things. Do them all. The rider didn't follow basic instructions. There's somebody saying, "don't even give it gas", and then he opens it up. You can take it as slow as you want, just be mindful of your actions and be aware of your surroundings.
thelowmax 1 year ago 2
Thanks for clearing that up for me. You just might be the reason I dont end up in a body bag :)
GibsonElectricI 1 year ago
Don't get a GSXR for one thing. They are very powerful bikes. Also, if you listen carefully, the guy standing tells the rider to give it a little gas. He didn't need to, as the cameraman said. If you just let off the clutch gently, the engine's idling torque is enough to get you going. Then, you can give it gas.
strayedsparks 1 year ago
I appreciate it buddy.....sound advice :)
GibsonElectricI 1 year ago
Just don't ride your first bike 600-1000cc or supersport. Learn to ride on small bike like 125-250cc, enduro or street bike. If you are from US, there is MSF courses where you will learn how to ride. If you don't want to start with MSF or you are not from US and you don't have chance to ride smaller bike, just don't give a gas. Just slowly let clutch off, and bike will move forward without giving a gas - it's called friction zone. Read some books, like MSF online free PDF :) Be safe!

to jhardy6617: if the motorcycle is air cooled, the best for this rider is to go the shoulder lane which is less traffic for sure, and there the rider could pass by there instead of lane splitting which is a lot dangerous. often times on a busy slow moving traffic, driver don't usually expect a motorcycle or a vehicle will squeeze by in between small space. best way to go on slow or stuck traffic is use the shoulder lane. if prefer lane splitting,
they better use Horn & Hibeam to pass by.
eddieochocinco 2 years ago
@:27, this rider could have prevented his head from slamming to the window of the vehicle. how? noticed the rider slammed his bike to
middle of the car. if this rider tried to crash towards the rear wheel of the vehicle his body could have been thrown towards the rear of vehicle without hitting the window or the vehicle. if the rider hit the vehicle toward it's rear, he could have hit the pavement instead the window or vehicle, which could result in less injury or damage to d rider.

5:02 mistake: these 2 riders both illegally crossed d 2 solid lines & dangerous curve.
5:20 mistake: the rider stayed too long on
d opposite lane and he illegally crossed a no passing zone.
5:54 mistake: the rider is impatient 2 move on. he should've stayed and follow the traffic intead.
6:08 mistake: the rider doesn't have lights
on. he shoud've always turn his high beam & hazard lights on busy traffic.
7:19 mistake: the rider is going too fast.
on bend typical to many stupid bikers
eddieochocinco 2 years ago 2
i believe i see yellow there, if its in cali lane splitting is legal, if its a air cooled bike and its overheating you cant really stop for traffic and let it overheat now can you?
driver crossed a solid white line if u pause it at 5:57 so if its in cali the drivers fault completly. if its in any other state its both

to some bikers, the motorcycle is a TOY to mess with. to some is a VEHICLE for TRANSPORTATION. unfortunately those who use motorcycle as a toy to play w/ they end up dead or with big hospital bills.

Let me sum this video up for you.
1) make sure your kickstand is up (yes, I've seen people forget with unfortunate results)
2) Car drivers and very stupid, and you should be able to outsmart them. Don't just breeze through intersections; be vigilant.
3) Don't show off. You name it, I've seen it go horrible wrong.
4) always wear gear. a helmet is not enough to go for a ride! Most of it SHOULD be common sense. If some of this material is new GET OFF THE BIKE.

Wow... This is a real eye-opener.
Does anybody know what the rider is doing wrong at 1:18. When he finishes showing off he puts his right leg back where it should be and the back tyre wobbles like crazy. Why does that happen and how would you stop it if it did happen?
KardKaper 2 years ago
