Ye i was bit harsh there. A-10's can take a whole lot of punishment and still keep flying. Their designed for that. Even the engines are located next to eachother so when one is affecting it can still sustain propar flight. But its still not a fighter :) Their going to get replaced by the F-35's soon enough.

The F-8 was larger and had a high incidence wing that raised up just behind the cockpit for more lift during t/o & landing. Also, it was the USN's premier fighter aircraft at the time.The A-7 was an attack aircraft used for light & precision bombing.
