lol, I think it was done very well. The only way it could've been better had been if Goku had inspired Trunks and you used GT clips and he found his counterpart in Pan.

I like your idea and all but there are 3 things
1 trunks doesn't have a brother he has a sister
2 trunks is an older sibling JB was a younger sibling
3 i didn't really like the idea of goku as dio i would have prefered king kia
