@TheGreekMan1981 He used the wrong word choice i believe, i think he meant the average joe, or at least i hope so. There are a lot of people that still think we have gold backing everything we have, cant even begin to imagine that we could have paper money without backing it with precious metals....
@Amurphy37 I don't know one single person who thinks money is backed by gold.....I mean someone would have to be an idiot to think that, and in all honesty......I think it would be VERY HARD to find someone who believes that. I'm sure there are a few here and there but for the most part, people know paper money is just fiat crap.
@TheGreekMan1981 I dont know man, i think you give too much credit to the general populace. I mean, i haven't done a poll obviously, and doubt you have either, so i will take back my claim at the majority of people believing this. However, i do think that a lot either do still believe, or were too stupid to know anything about gold backing paper money in the first place... I will admit though, that there are those out there smart enough to know facts like this accurately.
@Amurphy37 I didn't do a poll, but just out of curiosity I called a few friends who I thought were not extremely intellectual and I asked them what the dollar was backed by and all 3 of them said pretty much the same thing.
1) Nothing
2) Pretty much just a promise that it's worth something when it's not
3) Not sure, but I think nothing
Those are the 3 responses I got....So I honestly don't think even 1% of the general population thinks the dollar backed by anything
@TheGreekMan1981 Well, maybe the general populace has more intelligence or common sense then i would like to give them. However, though your friends had pretty decent, or vague answers regarding that, multiple questions would arise like how much your friends follow the economic issues, did they know gold backed the dollar in the first place, etc.? So i will agree that very few people probably believe that gold backs cash, whether by knowledge or arrogance is to be seen...
@TheGreekMan1981 Kudos on the mini poll with your friends by the way, a decent way to go about the argument. Others on here would probably make claims that they had asked multiple people the question, just to win their side...
Smart thing...plan for the worst hope for the best. I know for myself acquiring long term food storage is top on my list. Unfortunately most food storage company's are so expensive with minimum orders that are only affordable to those in a higher tax bracket. What about those who are truly struggling in this economy ? The answer is on my channel...you can even get free long term storable food & preparedness items that truly just about anyone can afford. God Bless
completely unncessary. economic collapse doesn't mean food is not being grown anymore. The economy in Argentina collapsed a few years ago. It was hardly gloom and doom for them. Economic collapse is actually a good thing. The current system is oppressive and unsustainable. A new world order will not come unless the old one dies.
Jobs are created by demand...the vicious cycle of allowing the ultra rich to be come even ultra richer means that the only people with disposable income are the rich...so what jobs are they going to create? Limo drivers? Mansion builders? Yacht Makers? Mansion Painters? Butlers? How many of those do the rich need anyways? In the last 30 years all taxes have been lowered and free trade allows rich to invest in China's/India's slave labor market...so THEY HAVE NO INCENTIVE to create jobs!!!!
I think what Your doing with these videos is Good cause even though I already know about Everything that You went over... there are others that don't. Thank You for Your time and effort... people need to know 1 way or another.
Unemployment is the essential reserve of the army of labor to keep the price of the wage slavery down as to maximise Profit for the criminal ruling/owning class. Capitalism is the wage slavery of immense humanity in a Politically manipulated, tyrannical Market System of artificial scarcity and manipulation to perpetuate the conditions of wage-slavery in the interest of few elite. Capitalism is the organised, legalised robbery of the working class. Capitalism is crime against humanity
If you listen closer to my video, you will see that I said "people on Wall Street". I wasn't talking about just stock traders, but average people in that knowing our currency isn't backed by gold should be as common knowledge as when we entered WW 2. Obviously, chances are that an average stock trader does already know this, although I DID talk to some who claimed to trade stocks that day who did not know.
Hey, kid. Randy and I watched our investments collapse with utter confusion and horror. One day, I melted down. I was hysterical. Randy took me outside. We looked at our garden--not huge, but adequate. He pointed out our small herd of cows. He pointed out our commercial orchard, varied and mature--pears, apples, cherries, asian pears (great for sweetening everything). He reminded me of our huge dehydrator, our miriad hunting rifles, our skills and where we live (important). I felt good!
Not all almonds are sweet. The original almond was bitter. It was called "the bitter almond." The only almonds we had back then were bitter. Farmers then grafted almond trees in order to make them taste sweeter so that more people would like them. By doing this, they also took away the vitamin b-17 that were in bitter almonds. The gov. also banned bitter almond trees because they were a natural cancer cure. I don't think you'd care about the taste if you were hungry and needed some calories.
@Buffalomovie ya i tried an acorn once... it was pretty damn disgusting.... there were a bunch on the ground and i was like 'hey an acorn! lets try it.' not exactly a great idea... lol
U.S. Economic Collapse this year will Iknow this when USA done many evil thing in iraq and Afganstian do you think god will reward them no it happen many times in history many big postion as leader of the world but they treate the world as salve now its time to pay and what USA love most its money and they create wars in iraq just because they are greedy for money this my view
Some good info there, buying seeds could be a problem, many nuts are good, walnuts, eating insects, grasshopper, locust, crickets, mixed with honey, earth worms, starting a club with others for a garden will help plus protecting it from thieves, catch water for drinking and bathing, some people can't afford to buy in bulk so we will need to rely on others for food and emotional support, dandelions, clover, and many others, make sure it wasn't sprayed for a year. spread the word.
Certain grass, yes. Just like people juice wheat grass, because of the minerals. This is only for survival. Many people died from vitamin/mineral deficiencies during the first great depression. Make sure you have enough vitamin/mineral supplements to last you a few years. Raw honey is also great for this and will last decades.
My friend, if you are a American. Just the fact that you are here on this subject... If you don't know who Gerald Celente is , you are doing yourself a disfavor. All Americans need to listen for 3 min... right here on You Tube... We are at the end of what use to be a great country Americans. Please be informed ... listen to this on
You Tube...
Gerald Celente warns of the next US Great Depression. PART 1 ..
remember this ppl:Why r sum rich and others poor? The answer is that 100% of ppl out there have great ideas but only 2% act on them.alot of the comments i read on this particular forum r negative.regardless of any perceived flaws in a survivalist's logic, they will indeed be the next generation of affluent in the event of a collapse. If wishes were horses beggars would ride...get bz.
With all due respect. If you are living anywhere you can harvest fruit and nuts you are screwed. In the event of a collapse or depression you are the only lifeboat in a sea of people and your gonna get swamped. I live where it nice and cold and plenty of big game and natural root vegetables and plenty of places to hide. u on the right track tho
This is why I advise people to move if they live in a major city. Obviously, growing your own food won't work in a big city because people will take your food - especially with civil unrest. However, if you live further out in the country, then growing things like nuts and fruit would be great. Thanks for watching.
Better would be to leave the US. If you have a university degree you can go to Korea to teach English for a start. However, the economic collapse will probably hit Korea too so you might have to go from Korea to China.
As far as fishing out of your stream, don't you think everyone in your neighborhood is going to do that? Basically, everybody living off the land is not sustainable. That's why we have modern factory farms. Without them, a lot of people are going to die.
But these 'factory farms' have been criminally inefficient on the basis of per-acre productivity. Do some research on the productivity of petroleum based AG verses intensive organic/small farms. The real problem is that it will take at lest 5 years of soil building to undo the damage inflicted on almost every acre of cultivated land in this country.
I did. There is no evidence that organic farming is more efficient than factory farming. In some cases, organic farming is 20% less efficient. Also, organic farming is more labor intensive and requires the farmer to have extensive knowledge in order for it to be efficient. It's not just that you put a seed in the ground and watch it grow. You have to know how to handle various kinds of insects and other pests.
If you move further out into the country, like I suggested, you really won't have a problem with fishing. It won't be like fishing in or near a major city - not to mention it's probably healthier too. Nevertheless, that was just one idea. Obviously, you can't just rely on fishing for your main source of food. That is why you should grow your own food and stock up on food in conjunction with doing things like fishing. People are going to die because they don't know how to take care of themselves.
Well think about recent history. Why is it that during the 19th century a majority of people worked on farms whereas during the late 20th century only a few did? The answer is that we developed the technology that enabled one person to be able to grow enough food to feed thousands of people. This is also one of the reasons why we experienced faster than exponential growth in the world population.
We need big factory farms because, like you said, no one really grows their own food anymore. If everyone had their own garden, you wouldn't need big factory farms. We only have them because most people today don't grow their own food. So either people will starve to death or they'll have to grow their own food. The absence of big factory farms will result in tens of thousands of people dying, but only because they were too ignorant to learn how to become independent of the system and grow food.
What you don't realize is that people not growing their own food was a necessary part of 20th century technological progress. Jobs such as fixing cars, inventing computers, etc. take a lot of time. So most people don't have time to plant their own garden or learn how to do efficient farming.
You are aware aren't you that in the 19th century farm work was one of the most dangerous jobs you could have? In fact, some people actually preferred coal mining work.
Not exactly. I'm a full-time student and I also work quite a but and I have a pretty big garden. I understand that many left to work in other parts of the economy, but keep in mind that today, like you said, we have better technology, so it's not as hard. Also, back then, big farming was dangerous because they didn't have the technology they have today to produce lots of food. Making a garden for you and/or your family really isn't that time-consuming at all. People can still stock up on food.
In order to have technology you need technology. In other words, in order to have a car, you need the technology to have and maintain a car. Seems obvious, but this is not what you are taking into account. Suppose you transported a car into the 18th century. That car would be useless, why? Well, there would be no gasoline. When the car breaks you wouldn't have the parts to fix it, etc.
Without a technological infrastructure I'm afraid your "technology" will eventually be useless.
You don't need much technology to grow a garden for yourself. A factory farm? Yes, but not for yourself. I know this because, like I said, I grow much of my own food. Nothing is stopping most Americans from growing at least 25% of what they eat. People can complain about how hard this or that will be, but, when it comes down to it, they will either have to grow/stock up on their own food or they will end up starving to death. It's as simple as that.
The thing is, when things really do get to that point it won't be worth living in the first place. Here are some problems you don't have now, but you will have if things get bad:
1) Getting seeds, which have to be produced with technology.
2) Repairing any equipment you use such as power saws. Even a simple shovel will require you buy a new one if it breaks. Do you have smelting equipment to form the metal so you can make a new shovel?
I have quite a few basic tools like shovels and I know how to fix them. If not, I'll dig with my hands. I have plenty of seeds that I've stocked up on & I won't run out because the produce that I grow will yield seeds, which I will be able grow more plants with. The key is to grow plants that are easy to grow and take care of, like patatoes. Patatoes are very easy to grow and I could still grow them if all I had were my hands. I also have weapons for hunting.
I guess growing potatoes is easier than spelling them eh?
Anyway, you're ability to do that now is precisely because things are somewhat good now. When things get bad, you will find doing those things to be much more difficult.
After you dig the potatoes, how are you going to cook them? If you have no electricity you will have no running water. You would also have no way to purify the water from the stream.
Basically you will find yourself spending 100% of your time on this.
Of course it is. People have to learn to be aware and not ignorant. They must always plan ahead for things, just like squirrels collects acorns so that they will have enough food to last them through the winter. Sure things will be harder, but humans have gotten by for a very long time. If my oven doesn't work then I will cook them using a fire, like most people did thousands of years ago. I have a clean spring that I know of for my water source.
For good evidence that you can observe for yourself as to why your idea won't work for many people look at the Amish. You will observe that the Amish use primitive technology to run farms and grow their own food. However, you will also notice that they do not live entirely separate from modern society or technology. When one of them gets sick or hurt they will run to one of their non-Amish neighbors to use his telephone.
Whereas in the American Civil War, if you got sick ...
The Amish don't get sick as much as the average person who lives in a heavily populated city does. Also, I don't really get sick, because I eat right and try to stay healthy. I have not been sick since I was 11.
Furthermore, anyone can learn basic first aid procedures. I am also currently training to become a firefighter and EMT, so I have quite a bit of knowledge in that area.
The thing is, prior to the 20th century your odds of surviving past the age of 5 weren't that good. That's because they didn't have penicillin or antibiotics. Diseases such as polio have been pretty much eliminated due to 20th century medicine.
So let's say you fall down outside and break your leg (quite likely since farm work is dangerous). You don't have hydrogen peroxide because it takes 20th century level tech to make that. You also don't have adhesive bandages.
The probability of me breaking a leg is quite low. Thats because I'm not doing factory farming. Smaller farming is much less strenuous, especially when you're only growing enough food for 1-5 people. If I break my leg I'll try to fix it. If I can't, then I will go to the hospital, if there is one. If all else fails, then I'm screwed. I'm stocked up on plenty of first aid supplies from my EMT training. I have enough hydrogen peroxide. I can also use alternatives. I also have adhesive bandages.
How would you go to the hospital? If it's just you outside and you broke your leg you will have a hard time getting back in the house to use a phone. That is, if the phone still works.
The thing is, in order for you to have hydrogen peroxide you need a factory capable of making that. You can make it with 19th century level technology but still...
Adhesive bandages weren't invented until the early 20th century.
I think you don't realize how much your life depends on modern tech.
I said if one was open. If one isn't, then if I die. I don't remember saying that you don't need technology for anything, if that is what you mean. Obviously, things will be harder, but anyone who prepares has a much better chance at surviving than those who don't. If there aren't factories that don't make hydrogen peroxide, do I cry about it? No. I stock up on it beforehand and/or I find alternatives. I basically work in a hospital, so I think I know how important modern technology is.
I didn't say you need technology for everything. I said that you need technology in order to have technology.
You could stock up beforehand, however as soon as your supply runs out you won't be able to get new supply.
You really should research history and see how people really lived before the 20th century if you want to get an idea of what things would be like if we lose technology. Disease was a lot more common, starvation was more common ...

what about eating your dogs/cats Jack? Do you know of any tasty/healthy recipes? Also do you have real handle on how a market capitalist society works? Has Obama's camp contacted you in regards to a high level finance position in his government? Btw are you a CFA?
You say that like it's a good thing - like the current government beaurocrats know what they're doing. Please, don't insult my intelligence. Obama won't cure the disease that big government has caused...at least not without some major war. If you think Obama will save you, then I have a bridge I want to sell you. Call it whatever you want, but we don't have a true free market. MANY people may be eating their own pets in the not too distant future.

Young man, you can be intelligent, naive, uninformed, and on anti depressants I while living in you're parents basement. I do not live in America, but for some reason I am drawn to the peoples willingness to listen to some greasy haired teenager(not trying to be mean) as if his words were Jesus Christ's.
3. I don't live in my parents basement, I live alone.
4. I'm studying to become an economist, I'm not just pulling this out of the sand.
5. No one is telling you to watch this video.
6. Watch my other videos, then tell me I wasn't right about what I already predicted - I said MANY more big banks were going to fail when most economists said we'd be of out this by now. Lets talk about the facts, not your OPINION of what will happen.
How do you store nuts? Do you have to buy them unshelled (or can you store packaged pecans, for example, in the fridge?) I'm in the country, tons of acorns everywhere and I have to keep my horses away from them because they can colic or founder from eating too many (tannic acid). What is the best way to prepare them or consume them? Thanks!
Cooked nuts keep longer than raw nuts. I just eat raw nuts/seeds because I believe them to be healthier. Cooked/raw nuts kept in an air-sealed bag can keep pretty long. During the depression, every fall, when the acorns fall, collect all that you can and keep them in a big pot or bag inside your home. You can cook them, eat them raw, and make a soup out of them. There are many ways. You can find some acorn soup recipes on the net pretty easily too. The indians used to make it.
Did you see one of the women on CNBC say that gold didn't really have any intrinsic value compared to the dollar? How can the public get informed when the onscreen presenters are so clueless.
Yes, I saw that. It was quite sad, the kind of disinformation those talking heads on CNBC will spread. That is why I don't really watch them that much. However, it was quite entertaining watching Peter Schiff school them the other day.
The way Earthquake affected people afraid of their cracked walls & roofs to be falling on them are sitting under the open sky in the chilled cold, similarly the US investors afraid of declining economy are not investing any more in the collapsed US financial crisis scared of their investments to distort in the suicide economy, thus making the US economy balloon burst altogether. 3:54 And (the unbelievers) plotted and planned, and Allah too planned, and the best of planners is Allah.
Good on you man, keep on! I am in Utah, I want to open eyes all over, but it is not easy, lots of sleepers out there! I have decided to downloan cd's, several of my favorite and most important wakeup news for the sleeping sheeples out there everywhere, I will make about 1000 copies and hand them out, my hopes are that at least 10 to 15 % of those will actually take home and WATCH! You'r doing an awesome job! but plz, go further, make your own copies and hand out to the sleeping public.
The US is probably heading for a depression worse than the great depression. Obama is not Jesus. The building is already collapsing, and there's nothing that he can do to reverse a process already in motion. If anything, he'll probably just make things worse by running the printing presses causing hyperinflation.
The only real solution is to become self-sufficient, which is what this video promotes.
For more information, listen to Max Keiser, Peter Schiff, Jim Rogers and Nouriel Roubini.
Those of you that can, study Permaculture. This is a global netowrk that teaches food and living systems that are way beyond anything that industrial agriculture can provide. Good luck
i just learned about this ... but i been finding good foods becuase i been trying to gain wight.
Sunflower seeds = lots of calerieris in little amounts
this other guy on youtube suggested mayday bar ... i didnt know about this but its a great idea one little chunk of it will give you tun of calleries and vitamins
Young man, I want to commend you for doing these videos. It does my heart good to see someone your age taking the opportunity to share their knowledge for the good of mankind. Bravo and Kudos to you for doing this. If more of our youth were following your lead, we would have a much brighter future.
Money will be printed in huge quantities, fueling massive inflation. Worldwide economies will be in a financial crisis. The U.S. will nationalize certain industries and spend for massive "entitlement" programs. Geopolitical threats will increase. The government will limit and manipulate the stock market to the point of threatening investor access to funds. The U.S. government will hire youthful "thought police" who will confiscate guns and jail those who disobey carbon emission laws.
congress print its own money at no interest, pay off debts, and stop borrowing from the federal reserve. the fed is doing this like it always has and like every private centeral bank has done through out history. It ruins the market and econcomy all-to-gether. Every president in the past that knew this and tried to stop the central banks were killed.(look it up) The crash benifits them cause they buy up the fallen buisness cheap, and create more debt paid to them from the goverment
This is about the same situation Pakistan is passing thru. Countrys economy is being loaned/sold @ the rate of a common mans life leading to anxiety and flux in all departments of life ensuing in no-investment crisis & every new govt blaming the past govt for all the hazards & again taking its hands out to beg for more loans. The country is being sold out eventually by parts, with disorder, joblessness, fake inflation and injustice as the main issues resulting in anarchy and suicide bombing,
The best way to survive an economic collapse is to join together and help everyone who needs help and make them understand that they need to do the same. If we're all against each other how far will we get?
I hope people are out buying guns and ammo while they still can. One deer can provide a good 70lbs of meat. One bullet from a 30/06 can stop the guy telling you to get in the truck for a trip to camp FEMA.
Do not assume Canada will be able or willing to take in the american people during this time. I know I wouldn't unless I knew without a doubt that the current american government was destroyed. It is to blame for this crisis. Far too much $ spent on killing other civilizations overseas.
More to come for sure. With what happened today, people are really starting to wake up because now of main street getting beat. I think it's funny how they go on about both parties and who will lower the takes and who will raise them. Like I said earlier, in this environment, EITHER candidate will raise teaxes - either indirectly through inflation or directly through raising taxes - in order to bail the big boys out. But it wan't be that easy. A total collapse is inevitable at this point.
You're right, dude. Fannie mae Freddie mac gettin' taken over by the government isn't anything big. The fact that it could also cost 5.5 trillion isn't anything big. Great elimate alright. Major amrket manipulation going on right now. The world is going to see the worst depression.
Very true. Most people don't have a clue what a low-blow to the economy the 5.5. trillion bucks from the bailout will do. They will either raise taxes directly or indirectly through the inflation tax.
The blog Clusterfuck Nation posits that the USA will experience sudden lose of empire similar to the USSR's experince in '89/91.
Except for us, we're not partly a 3rd world nation like they are. Outside of Moscow, horses were used as transportation in places. They just went back to the land, but we'll be in serious trouble. See all the pictures from Katrina, because that's how the government will manage it.
Sounds about right. Empires need to be financed and that won't happen when we experience the worst depression the world has ever seen. Very true. 95% of Americans today do not know how to grow their own food. Most aren't even stocking up on food like they should be now. This is why it is ESSENTIAL to be outside of the city and have plenty of guns for self-defense. This total collapse will probably make Katrina and 1929 look like Heaven.
also its awesome youre a nutrionist! i am on my way to becoming one myself. im actually a raw vegan and i find that little food keeps me energized the whole day. so, thats one good advantage.
Thanks. Yes, knowing how to grow your own food and take care of yourself will be the most important thing you can do. Big changes are coming to the world and people can either laugh about it or take it serious.
its really great that we are waking up. also does anyone have a heart? he is very knowledgable, this is a time to help people and to praise people for opening their eyes, not hurting each other. i mean america is not safe, they have fema camps waiting for us to be killed, this is a time to stick together. and to love each other as fucking corny as that sounds. its real. good video keep being awesome.
ok im sorry about the comment i left. you seem sincere. but its good to learn a lot about the economy. and if you want to start your own farm thats cool. nice vid.
Dude, dont pay attention to these idiots who put you down. You know what youre talking about and are also wise to suggest planting a vegtible garden. Just remember when one takes the stand to educate others they inharit the risk of becoming a threat to the very people you wish to help. Peace!
The aftermath of poor economic policies doesn't come out from the darkness to show itself overnight. It took DECADES to get to this point and anyone who has a basic education will tell you that this dangerous path that we're on is going to hit a dead end. Its just a matter of WHEN. If everything is still okay in 3 years, it doesn't mean I was wrong. It just means that it will hit at a later time. But on this path, we're going to see BIG changes very soon. Fruit trees can grow in bad economies.
Sigh, you're a pseudo-intellectual craving viral attention. You sir, are no Alan Greenspan. Show me the proof that you know what you're talking about, not stories about how you met stupid people on Wall St. or tell me that the economy is bad, skip the minutia, and then start talking about fruit trees.
I don't want to be some 'Alan Greenspan.' He's the reason why the housing market has gone to hell. And by your comment of saying that I am no Greenspan, making it look like he's something special, I can tell you really don't know what you're talking about. Well, I am studying and majoring in economics, so I think I know a good bit. If you had of watched my third video instead of resorting to scathing remarks, you wouldn't have asked me that. I explain why. I live in reality. How about you?
Haha yeah Jackneedles and you also "know a good bit about self-defense because you lift weights and have taken martial arts since you were seven" or three, or five, or whatever bs you said in your video. Listen, I'm not even going to make a clear rebuttal to what you just said because you didn't really say anything. I demanded economic details explaining EXACTLY why you think we're headed on this course, because otherwise, there's absolutely no reason anyone should believe you.
So what. I have been taking Taekwondo lessons since I was seven and I lift weights. I enjoy fitness, whats your point? Never seen anyone who does those things instead of live in MTV land all day? Of course you cannot make a clear rebuttal because your opinion is based on ignorance, not facts or proper research. Also, A if you knew anything about economics, you would not be asking me to explain it to you and B, once again, I already explained why we cannot get out of this in my third video.
MMA is way better then Taekwondo :P haha it is quite a shame people want to be fit but arnt prepaired to put in the effort to achieve it. in the event of collapse it will come greatly in handy tho. also make sure u stock up on ur beans and chick peas (high in protein), beef jerky is extreamly high in it but is expensive and has 2 much sodium. id like to study nutrition one day :)
I'm happy to see someone so young to be so politically aware. Gardening is a great idea. There are very good vids here on YouTube. Also, some good vids on solar stoves and solar cooking. Search YouTube before searching google. Also, check out "bucket packing with wendy mae." Keep up the good work.
Jack and everyone- (looks like my first attempt to post this got lost) google 'endtimesreport' from Miles Stair. His site contains a vast amount of information dedicated to self-sufficiency and surviving a collapse of civilization as we know it. Given the nature of things today, preparation may not be a bad idea.
Great tips, Jimlgnatowski. Because of the limited amount of time I have in each video, am just trying to give people the basic things they need when it comes to survival. Great idea.
videos like this scare me. I am mentally ill and I struggle hard and it is difficult to take care of myself.
What will happen to me and others like me if the economy collapse? I will probably be among the first people to die and fade away. I'm only 29 years old.
Is there any chance that an economic collapse won't happen? Please respond ASAP.
Who should I vote for to bail the economy out of a sever depression or prevent it from happening?
About the only way it won't happen is if the citizens of America stand up united - UNITED - and make it crystal clear to government that if the economy collapses, there will be a violent revolution. But nobody wants to be inconvenienced so the hard reality is it is inevitable - it's already crossed the line. Gather around people who can help you while making preparations for self reliance in a worst case. Voting? At this point it doesn't matter, they're both corrupt. Focus on your survival.
rydar1978: There's always a chance. I can't tell you who to vote for. I've voted in 9 presidential elections and they all had one thing in common 'they all failed to live up to their promises'! My daily life changed little, but then I live so close to the bottom, where nothing ever changes. I'm voting for Ron Paul, if only just to cast my vote in the pile with the rest of the disenchanted. I just hope he gets more than Ross Perot's 16% and maybe they'll get the damn hint! May God bless you.
Rydar, I am sorry to hear that you are mentally ill. Many people work hard for very little these days. It is very sad. But what is even worse is not dealing with the facts and ignoring the problem as it grows, much like a cancer cell, instead of preparing so that it won't be as hard on you. If you're ready, things won't be nearly as bad as it will be for those who are ignorant and didn't get ready. Ron Paul was the only chance and the establishment made him lose.
ill tell you the person that you should vote for to avoid economic collapse would be ron paul, he has the best understanding of the situation than anybody, right his name on the 08 ballot also dont worry we are not heading for an economic collapse this is just yet another hard time in American history that we will get through ohh by the way for the last few months the dollar has actually stabilized at about 70 on the dollar index, its been trending along that line for a while
We don't live in a perfect world. We're headed for a depression for sure. I, like many, am not sure what the aftermath will look like, but it will be grim. This will be much worse than 1929. We're talking about 80 plus years of bad monetary policy. It can't be reversed in 2 or 5 years. The dollar goes up a bit, then drops much more. A rally is different than a trend. The overall trend for the dollar is death. It might go up a bit or stabilize for a bit, but then it's back down.
i never said that the dollar is rallying, the dollar has been TRENDING along 70 on the dollar index for over a month now, also things would get much better if we A) stop creating money out of thin air in order to please wall street, B) reduce or eliminate wasteful spending overseas, which of course would drastically lower out national dept, but out of foreign affairs and focus on our own problems. C) eliminate the fed and get back on the gold standard, and D) elect ron paul as president
ALL fiat currencies eventually become worthless. To say that America will never experience another depresson in the next 10-80 years is crazy. A we won't stop creating money out of thin air and B we won't reduce or eliminate wasteful spending overseas; C and D won't happen either. The Federal Reserve has used up their bullets and many more bank failures are coming. If they raise rates to 20% our economy will collapse. If they don't,....our economy will collapse.
if they raise rates to 20% the economy will collapse for sure, in terms of bank failures yeah maybe more will fail, but thats probably a good thing, let the banks that maid bad loans go out of business, their have been several big banks that have avoided the sub prime loan crap and have actually been reporting good numbers, financial institutions such as goldmen sachs, hudson city bank NY, also since the fed has drastically lowered the discount window, banks have been making $ off loans again
No. Banks failing and the government not bailing them out with our tax dollars is a good thing, long-term. However, they are bailing the banks out instead of letting them fail and this will make the problem MUCH, much worse. The Fed are making it worse by printing more money for the banks so it really doesn't matter. Also, since the housing market is getting worse, it will drag on for the banks. And lets not talk about the worthless assets backing up our currency. This facade is coming down.

TheGreekMan1981 1 month ago
@TheGreekMan1981 He used the wrong word choice i believe, i think he meant the average joe, or at least i hope so. There are a lot of people that still think we have gold backing everything we have, cant even begin to imagine that we could have paper money without backing it with precious metals....
Amurphy37 1 month ago
@Amurphy37 I don't know one single person who thinks money is backed by gold.....I mean someone would have to be an idiot to think that, and in all honesty......I think it would be VERY HARD to find someone who believes that. I'm sure there are a few here and there but for the most part, people know paper money is just fiat crap.
TheGreekMan1981 1 month ago
@TheGreekMan1981 I dont know man, i think you give too much credit to the general populace. I mean, i haven't done a poll obviously, and doubt you have either, so i will take back my claim at the majority of people believing this. However, i do think that a lot either do still believe, or were too stupid to know anything about gold backing paper money in the first place... I will admit though, that there are those out there smart enough to know facts like this accurately.
Amurphy37 1 month ago
@Amurphy37 I didn't do a poll, but just out of curiosity I called a few friends who I thought were not extremely intellectual and I asked them what the dollar was backed by and all 3 of them said pretty much the same thing.
1) Nothing
2) Pretty much just a promise that it's worth something when it's not
3) Not sure, but I think nothing
Those are the 3 responses I got....So I honestly don't think even 1% of the general population thinks the dollar backed by anything
TheGreekMan1981 1 month ago
@TheGreekMan1981 Well, maybe the general populace has more intelligence or common sense then i would like to give them. However, though your friends had pretty decent, or vague answers regarding that, multiple questions would arise like how much your friends follow the economic issues, did they know gold backed the dollar in the first place, etc.? So i will agree that very few people probably believe that gold backs cash, whether by knowledge or arrogance is to be seen...
Amurphy37 1 month ago

Buffalomovie 2 years ago
Not all almonds are sweet. The original almond was bitter. It was called "the bitter almond." The only almonds we had back then were bitter. Farmers then grafted almond trees in order to make them taste sweeter so that more people would like them. By doing this, they also took away the vitamin b-17 that were in bitter almonds. The gov. also banned bitter almond trees because they were a natural cancer cure. I don't think you'd care about the taste if you were hungry and needed some calories.

21hills 3 years ago
This is why I advise people to move if they live in a major city. Obviously, growing your own food won't work in a big city because people will take your food - especially with civil unrest. However, if you live further out in the country, then growing things like nuts and fruit would be great. Thanks for watching.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
Better would be to leave the US. If you have a university degree you can go to Korea to teach English for a start. However, the economic collapse will probably hit Korea too so you might have to go from Korea to China.
As far as fishing out of your stream, don't you think everyone in your neighborhood is going to do that? Basically, everybody living off the land is not sustainable. That's why we have modern factory farms. Without them, a lot of people are going to die.
elzoog 3 years ago
But these 'factory farms' have been criminally inefficient on the basis of per-acre productivity. Do some research on the productivity of petroleum based AG verses intensive organic/small farms. The real problem is that it will take at lest 5 years of soil building to undo the damage inflicted on almost every acre of cultivated land in this country.
lordchaos1111 3 years ago
You have to know how to handle various kinds of insects and other pests.
elzoog 3 years ago
If you move further out into the country, like I suggested, you really won't have a problem with fishing. It won't be like fishing in or near a major city - not to mention it's probably healthier too. Nevertheless, that was just one idea. Obviously, you can't just rely on fishing for your main source of food. That is why you should grow your own food and stock up on food in conjunction with doing things like fishing. People are going to die because they don't know how to take care of themselves.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
Well think about recent history. Why is it that during the 19th century a majority of people worked on farms whereas during the late 20th century only a few did? The answer is that we developed the technology that enabled one person to be able to grow enough food to feed thousands of people. This is also one of the reasons why we experienced faster than exponential growth in the world population.
So think about taking that technology away.
elzoog 3 years ago
We need big factory farms because, like you said, no one really grows their own food anymore. If everyone had their own garden, you wouldn't need big factory farms. We only have them because most people today don't grow their own food. So either people will starve to death or they'll have to grow their own food. The absence of big factory farms will result in tens of thousands of people dying, but only because they were too ignorant to learn how to become independent of the system and grow food.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
What you don't realize is that people not growing their own food was a necessary part of 20th century technological progress. Jobs such as fixing cars, inventing computers, etc. take a lot of time. So most people don't have time to plant their own garden or learn how to do efficient farming.
You are aware aren't you that in the 19th century farm work was one of the most dangerous jobs you could have? In fact, some people actually preferred coal mining work.
elzoog 3 years ago
Not exactly. I'm a full-time student and I also work quite a but and I have a pretty big garden. I understand that many left to work in other parts of the economy, but keep in mind that today, like you said, we have better technology, so it's not as hard. Also, back then, big farming was dangerous because they didn't have the technology they have today to produce lots of food. Making a garden for you and/or your family really isn't that time-consuming at all. People can still stock up on food.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
In order to have technology you need technology. In other words, in order to have a car, you need the technology to have and maintain a car. Seems obvious, but this is not what you are taking into account. Suppose you transported a car into the 18th century. That car would be useless, why? Well, there would be no gasoline. When the car breaks you wouldn't have the parts to fix it, etc.
Without a technological infrastructure I'm afraid your "technology" will eventually be useless.
elzoog 3 years ago
You don't need much technology to grow a garden for yourself. A factory farm? Yes, but not for yourself. I know this because, like I said, I grow much of my own food. Nothing is stopping most Americans from growing at least 25% of what they eat. People can complain about how hard this or that will be, but, when it comes down to it, they will either have to grow/stock up on their own food or they will end up starving to death. It's as simple as that.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
The thing is, when things really do get to that point it won't be worth living in the first place. Here are some problems you don't have now, but you will have if things get bad:
1) Getting seeds, which have to be produced with technology.
2) Repairing any equipment you use such as power saws. Even a simple shovel will require you buy a new one if it breaks. Do you have smelting equipment to form the metal so you can make a new shovel?
elzoog 3 years ago
I have quite a few basic tools like shovels and I know how to fix them. If not, I'll dig with my hands. I have plenty of seeds that I've stocked up on & I won't run out because the produce that I grow will yield seeds, which I will be able grow more plants with. The key is to grow plants that are easy to grow and take care of, like patatoes. Patatoes are very easy to grow and I could still grow them if all I had were my hands. I also have weapons for hunting.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
I guess growing potatoes is easier than spelling them eh?
Anyway, you're ability to do that now is precisely because things are somewhat good now. When things get bad, you will find doing those things to be much more difficult.
After you dig the potatoes, how are you going to cook them? If you have no electricity you will have no running water. You would also have no way to purify the water from the stream.
Basically you will find yourself spending 100% of your time on this.
elzoog 3 years ago
I'm a fast typer, so sometimes I mess up.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
For good evidence that you can observe for yourself as to why your idea won't work for many people look at the Amish. You will observe that the Amish use primitive technology to run farms and grow their own food. However, you will also notice that they do not live entirely separate from modern society or technology. When one of them gets sick or hurt they will run to one of their non-Amish neighbors to use his telephone.
Whereas in the American Civil War, if you got sick ...
elzoog 3 years ago
The Amish don't get sick as much as the average person who lives in a heavily populated city does. Also, I don't really get sick, because I eat right and try to stay healthy. I have not been sick since I was 11.
Furthermore, anyone can learn basic first aid procedures. I am also currently training to become a firefighter and EMT, so I have quite a bit of knowledge in that area.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
The thing is, prior to the 20th century your odds of surviving past the age of 5 weren't that good. That's because they didn't have penicillin or antibiotics. Diseases such as polio have been pretty much eliminated due to 20th century medicine.
So let's say you fall down outside and break your leg (quite likely since farm work is dangerous). You don't have hydrogen peroxide because it takes 20th century level tech to make that. You also don't have adhesive bandages.
elzoog 3 years ago
The probability of me breaking a leg is quite low. Thats because I'm not doing factory farming. Smaller farming is much less strenuous, especially when you're only growing enough food for 1-5 people. If I break my leg I'll try to fix it. If I can't, then I will go to the hospital, if there is one. If all else fails, then I'm screwed. I'm stocked up on plenty of first aid supplies from my EMT training. I have enough hydrogen peroxide. I can also use alternatives. I also have adhesive bandages.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
How would you go to the hospital? If it's just you outside and you broke your leg you will have a hard time getting back in the house to use a phone. That is, if the phone still works.
The thing is, in order for you to have hydrogen peroxide you need a factory capable of making that. You can make it with 19th century level technology but still...
Adhesive bandages weren't invented until the early 20th century.
I think you don't realize how much your life depends on modern tech.
elzoog 3 years ago
I said if one was open. If one isn't, then if I die. I don't remember saying that you don't need technology for anything, if that is what you mean. Obviously, things will be harder, but anyone who prepares has a much better chance at surviving than those who don't. If there aren't factories that don't make hydrogen peroxide, do I cry about it? No. I stock up on it beforehand and/or I find alternatives. I basically work in a hospital, so I think I know how important modern technology is.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
I didn't say you need technology for everything. I said that you need technology in order to have technology.
You could stock up beforehand, however as soon as your supply runs out you won't be able to get new supply.
You really should research history and see how people really lived before the 20th century if you want to get an idea of what things would be like if we lose technology. Disease was a lot more common, starvation was more common ...

Thanks!
Anima3333 3 years ago
Cooked nuts keep longer than raw nuts. I just eat raw nuts/seeds because I believe them to be healthier. Cooked/raw nuts kept in an air-sealed bag can keep pretty long. During the depression, every fall, when the acorns fall, collect all that you can and keep them in a big pot or bag inside your home. You can cook them, eat them raw, and make a soup out of them. There are many ways. You can find some acorn soup recipes on the net pretty easily too. The indians used to make it.

The US is probably heading for a depression worse than the great depression. Obama is not Jesus. The building is already collapsing, and there's nothing that he can do to reverse a process already in motion. If anything, he'll probably just make things worse by running the printing presses causing hyperinflation.
The only real solution is to become self-sufficient, which is what this video promotes.

congress print its own money at no interest, pay off debts, and stop borrowing from the federal reserve. the fed is doing this like it always has and like every private centeral bank has done through out history.

YouViewer08 3 years ago 2
I hope people are out buying guns and ammo while they still can. One deer can provide a good 70lbs of meat. One bullet from a 30/06 can stop the guy telling you to get in the truck for a trip to camp FEMA.
satinbarbi 3 years ago 2
Yep, guns will be more essential than the newest pc or plasma tv.

Do not assume Canada will be able or willing to take in the american people during this time. I know I wouldn't unless I knew without a doubt that the current american government was destroyed. It is to blame for this crisis. Far too much $ spent on killing other civilizations overseas.

Go to Canada while you still can, stocking food will not last long.

Jack, did you also see the bloodbath going on in Morgan Stanley shares??? What do you think about WAMU? They're not looking too good either, lol.

Yes, I did. WAMU is finished. They will go under too.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
Jack, what do you think about the latest bailout???
1776in2008 3 years ago 2
More to come for sure. With what happened today, people are really starting to wake up because now of main street getting beat. I think it's funny how they go on about both parties and who will lower the takes and who will raise them. Like I said earlier, in this environment, EITHER candidate will raise teaxes - either indirectly through inflation or directly through raising taxes - in order to bail the big boys out. But it wan't be that easy. A total collapse is inevitable at this point.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
Given the current economic climate, I do not think this video is appropriate.
dogspawn 3 years ago
You're right, dude. Fannie mae Freddie mac gettin' taken over by the government isn't anything big. The fact that it could also cost 5.5 trillion isn't anything big. Great elimate alright. Major amrket manipulation going on right now. The world is going to see the worst depression.
1776in2008 3 years ago 4
I think this is true of everyone, if you think about it.
dogspawn 3 years ago

See all the pictures from Katrina, because that's how the government will manage it.
powergirl901 3 years ago
Sounds about right. Empires need to be financed and that won't happen when we experience the worst depression the world has ever seen. Very true. 95% of Americans today do not know how to grow their own food. Most aren't even stocking up on food like they should be now. This is why it is ESSENTIAL to be outside of the city and have plenty of guns for self-defense. This total collapse will probably make Katrina and 1929 look like Heaven.

So uh, in twenty years if the economy is still stable and we're not growing fruit trees in our backyards, can I say, "I told you so?"
Goldwater08 3 years ago
The aftermath of poor economic policies doesn't come out from the darkness to show itself overnight. It took DECADES to get to this point and anyone who has a basic education will tell you that this dangerous path that we're on is going to hit a dead end. Its just a matter of WHEN. If everything is still okay in 3 years, it doesn't mean I was wrong. It just means that it will hit at a later time. But on this path, we're going to see BIG changes very soon. Fruit trees can grow in bad economies.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
Sigh, you're a pseudo-intellectual craving viral attention. You sir, are no Alan Greenspan. Show me the proof that you know what you're talking about, not stories about how you met stupid people on Wall St. or tell me that the economy is bad, skip the minutia, and then start talking about fruit trees.
Goldwater08 3 years ago
I don't want to be some 'Alan Greenspan.' He's the reason why the housing market has gone to hell. And by your comment of saying that I am no Greenspan, making it look like he's something special, I can tell you really don't know what you're talking about. Well, I am studying and majoring in economics, so I think I know a good bit. If you had of watched my third video instead of resorting to scathing remarks, you wouldn't have asked me that. I explain why. I live in reality. How about you?
JackNeedles 3 years ago
Haha yeah Jackneedles and you also "know a good bit about self-defense because you lift weights and have taken martial arts since you were seven" or three, or five, or whatever bs you said in your video. Listen, I'm not even going to make a clear rebuttal to what you just said because you didn't really say anything. I demanded economic details explaining EXACTLY why you think we're headed on this course, because otherwise, there's absolutely no reason anyone should believe you.
Goldwater08 3 years ago
JackNeedles 3 years ago
MMA is way better then Taekwondo :P haha it is quite a shame people want to be fit but arnt prepaired to put in the effort to achieve it. in the event of collapse it will come greatly in handy tho. also make sure u stock up on ur beans and chick peas (high in protein), beef jerky is extreamly high in it but is expensive and has 2 much sodium. id like to study nutrition one day :)

Thanks
rydar1978 3 years ago
About the only way it won't happen is if the citizens of America stand up united - UNITED - and make it crystal clear to government that if the economy collapses, there will be a violent revolution. But nobody wants to be inconvenienced so the hard reality is it is inevitable - it's already crossed the line. Gather around people who can help you while making preparations for self reliance in a worst case. Voting? At this point it doesn't matter, they're both corrupt. Focus on your survival.
MsPatriot44 3 years ago
rydar1978: There's always a chance.
JimIgnatowski 3 years ago
Rydar, I am sorry to hear that you are mentally ill. Many people work hard for very little these days. It is very sad. But what is even worse is not dealing with the facts and ignoring the problem as it grows, much like a cancer cell, instead of preparing so that it won't be as hard on you. If you're ready, things won't be nearly as bad as it will be for those who are ignorant and didn't get ready. Ron Paul was the only chance and the establishment made him lose.
God bless,
Jack
JackNeedles 3 years ago
ill tell you the person that you should vote for to avoid economic collapse would be ron paul, he has the best understanding of the situation than anybody, right his name on the 08 ballot also dont worry we are not heading for an economic collapse this is just yet another hard time in American history that we will get through ohh by the way for the last few months the dollar has actually stabilized at about 70 on the dollar index, its been trending along that line for a while
mattgeb84 3 years ago
We don't live in a perfect world. We're headed for a depression for sure. I, like many, am not sure what the aftermath will look like, but it will be grim. This will be much worse than 1929. We're talking about 80 plus years of bad monetary policy. It can't be reversed in 2 or 5 years. The dollar goes up a bit, then drops much more. A rally is different than a trend. The overall trend for the dollar is death. It might go up a bit or stabilize for a bit, but then it's back down.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
i never said that the dollar is rallying, the dollar has been TRENDING along 70 on the dollar index for over a month now, also things would get much better if we A) stop creating money out of thin air in order to please wall street, B) reduce or eliminate wasteful spending overseas, which of course would drastically lower out national dept, but out of foreign affairs and focus on our own problems. C) eliminate the fed and get back on the gold standard, and D) elect ron paul as president
mattgeb84 3 years ago
ALL fiat currencies eventually become worthless. To say that America will never experience another depresson in the next 10-80 years is crazy. A we won't stop creating money out of thin air and B we won't reduce or eliminate wasteful spending overseas; C and D won't happen either. The Federal Reserve has used up their bullets and many more bank failures are coming. If they raise rates to 20% our economy will collapse. If they don't,....our economy will collapse.
JackNeedles 3 years ago
if they raise rates to 20% the economy will collapse for sure, in terms of bank failures yeah maybe more will fail, but thats probably a good thing, let the banks that maid bad loans go out of business, their have been several big banks that have avoided the sub prime loan crap and have actually been reporting good numbers, financial institutions such as goldmen sachs, hudson city bank NY, also since the fed has drastically lowered the discount window, banks have been making $ off loans again
mattgeb84 3 years ago
JackNeedles 3 years ago
banks failing is
