I remember first hearing this back in the early 1980s. I recall it was springtime after the ambient series (Plateaux of Mirror, Day of Radiance, and On Land) had been released. We were enthralled by them, and it seemed like the springtime of music too. The music and the spring produced such a sense of optimism that was not born out by the time that followed...
