They didn't use a real bullet. Who in their right mind would use real bullets for a film? The blank bullet got stuck from a previous scene and as the gun was fired again, the next blank pushed the stuck blank out which have made it active as it was a real bullet. It was all accidental.

Mark on the other hand is a very talented martial artist. You just need to look at his part in Brotherhood Of The Wolf to see what I mean.
I actually have to agree with Dalamar. For one, the argument of just because the father was good it means the son is also has got to be one of the weakest arguments around. LOL Add to that the fact that Brandon himself admitted that as much as he loved martial arts he never put too much effort into learning it. On the other hand Mark is well versed in the art.
Hey SonofDeath 96 your the idiot here. Bruce Lee and Mark Dacascos's dad Al both had martial arts schools in LA at the same time and were best friends. It was a bummer about Brandon but they were all friends that is part of the reason Mark was chosen to be in this film, and yes Mark is a better martial artist.
That's the only thing I couldn't really get into with the series (granted, it was a great show) - Eric WASN'T a martial artist. In the movie, he was just having fun :) In the book, he had some skill dancing and sword-fighting (I think, it's been a while). Mark gets up as him and it's like, "Whoa, Eric - I didn't know you were Jackie Chan!!" xD
Book Eric had some degree of martial arts skills. Not wushu & capoeira but more along the lines of military combatives and like you said, some swordsmanship.
It was never explained if he knew that stuff in life so I just assumed that he was reanimated with it along with his other supernatural abilities.
yeah true, but then again if you think about it.....would the fighting or even the entire show be fun and enjoyable to watch if there were no martial arts? I actually think mark's martial art skills added to the character of the crow and made him even more of a bad ass. Also the martial art movements are somewhat eerie in movement so it adds to the supernatural part too.

Don't worry. It's just a tv series of The Crow called The Crow: Stairway to Heaven. Believe me, nothing will replace The first Crow movie and Brandon Lee, which was the best.
