@xboxboy40 Why are you being so hostile toward jinxgelb? I feel like he/she has been great in his/her answers to you. You didn't say "if your god forced you to choose" until this specific post. I understand that religious beliefs tend to cause discord among many people, but I think what jinxgelb is trying to say is that no matter your religion or lack thereof, there will be corruption among people. Yet many Christians depend on their faith in God for justice, but that doesn't dismiss the law.

I would not hold a grudge against them for this. Neither will I stop helping my cranky, cantankerous neigbor where I can, for all her gall talk about Jesus and Christians. Never mind! :-) Now, but should I ever have to decide whether to stay close friends with God at the expense of my good reputation with people and my career, or to stay "friends" with people or to be promoted at the expece of my relationship to God, I will most certainly opt for God.

I do have some very good friends, and I do have many friends among my neighbors and colleagues. Yet from my experience, human friendship can come to an end - either the interests no longer match, or the family situation changes, or what else. But God is alsways there, His love is always palpable, His advice to the point, His encouragement helpf to fight and win. :-)

When I said I knew what I was talking about I meant I have been through this, not once. And it is still true - in Jesus Christ there is healing. It is in His love you come to realise that it was someone else's fault and not yours, it is through His love and acceptance that I learned to accept and love myself - not the selfish pride the world teaches us. It was through His love I grew strong and was even able to forgive.

But whatever the Church does wrongly or correctly, this is not a proof that there is no God and no divine justice. There is!

The sort of evidence I have been trying to explain can be verified and tested. The very fact that throughout time human beings have made spiritual experiments and have had spiritual experience shows that the immaterial world is just as real as the material one. It is quite a different question what kind of spiritual reality I adhere to though.

I'm surprised you had some imaginary friends. I must confess, I've only had real friends, God being one among them (the most important though). Anatheist is someone who denies God's existence. Saying that there are no gods but God I'm saying that there is just God in three hypostases: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and whatever spiritual beings people may come in touch with are either from the realm of the divine, or the opposite.

Well, maybe, if there are some bold witnesses to testify against them, they would be punished for their crimes, but what if not? Yet there i s divine justice, and in the end they will receive what they deserve. On the other hand, if there was no God, there would be no hope of healing for those hurt, oppressed, abused and humiliated. Thank God there is, and I know what I am talking about.

for those who hear this song, don't just suck the emotional pleasure from the wonderful melody and message. Take that message home! God take little pleasure from momentary declarations of "emotional" love. Nothing pleases God more than a longing for Him that goes beyond the length of any song.

there was one time when i was a teenager that for some reason, i couldn't keep from crying when the sermon was being told. i was probably blinking like a hundred times a minute, trying to suppress the tears. im glad we didn't sing this song right after the sermon cuz i probably would've started crying again. my mom was like, what's wrong with you? not in a mean way, but you know how you get embarrassed? this is one of my favorite songs i heard in church.
