I don't know what it is, but I love hearing the live members screaming "Trying to save myself... etc" The interplay is awesome. Favorite NIN song by far.
And also "sell outs" are most of the pop and rap crap you see on MTV and hear on radio.Musicians who do anything their record company says because it will sell more CDs and make more money for them.Having no artistic integrity for the sake of fame and fortune. Why do you see a lot of songs in commercials are from the "one hit wonder bands" from the 80s?Because they need the money! Now if anyone thinks NIN are "sellouts" then you don't know shit.
@ComaAlpha i'm still missing how you could say any of those were selling out. trent's what.....45 years old now. a long ways away from the kid that started out 20 some years ago. you can't expect someone to be the same person making the same music over nearly a quarter of decade. i'm curious though, what defines selling out to you? he's still making original music that no one else is doing, and does it exactly how he wants and when he wants.
@jumeau1 Well said.I've never heard a NIN song on any "top 40/pop" radio station. And "selling out" is when musicians have no artistic integrity and sell one of their songs to a corporation and then they use it in a commercial and totally make the song irrelevant and meaningless. When i saw "Ceremony" by Joy Division/New Order in a commercial i thought what the FUCK!! Ian Curtis is rolling over in his grave!
Come watch my video SYMPHONY GUITAR RIFFS. Its got tons of classic guitar hooks from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Nirvana and Pantera all played back to back to create a rockin' extravaganza!!!-_-!!!
yo assface, yeah you, Razz, i've read your comments saying that nin and trent have sold out.....well........you sir are completely retarded......I will go no further other than to say......FUCK YOU BITCH
sells outs are pppl who want money he put out his last album slip for free... so i totaly agree with u he might have gone a little mainstream but so fucking what he still makes unique and catchy music
exactly my point man, and honestly, his attempts at mainstream were so unmainstream, that they didn't last long. how often is nin played on the radio? where I live, barely ever. Its great to see someone who shares my opinon. You have a damn good day man, and keep the NIN fanbase strong
also ive never even seen him on a ate night show ever...the closest thing he ever went to selling out was accepting and then declining singing at themtv music awards

I like Trent Reznor during this era and downward spiral the best. Right now he just looks like a buffed up bulky bouncer. And he even sings with a more lower tone of voice in his songs he goes "Hey" in the middle of his songs. Today he doesn't even look like he is part of NIN anymore. (the original NIN that is)
Yeah your saying that because its basically the truth. And the other awful truth is that 90% of the bands that became big for one time in their life has sold out. Meaning changing their sound to be accessible to the mainstream and to keep up with the time. And your probally one of those puppet idiots that buys into the mainstream system. Like if its consider hip today and it fits in with the rest of society then your okay with it rather than being creative and thinking for yourself.
You are dissing nin and Trent because of hes looks? And then you give a speech about creativity and thinking for you self, and you are calling me an idiot? Mr. you got FAIL written all along your forehead. And just to let you know, Trent is Nine inch nails.

First of all I am not only dissing Trent for his looks. I was basically voicing my opinion on his looks, it may not have sounded like a easy and decent sounding opinion but it was my opinion. And again opinions are like assholes (everybody's got one). Second of all I was mostly commenting about his sound if you read my comment clearly. And I know Trent is NIN no shit I've lsiten to NIN since 1994 when march of the pigs came out when I was only 14 years old.

And another thing is that I'm voicing my opinion about his looks because I'm still use to the original Trent (the 90s Trent). And I have the right to say what I want and think any way I want about Trent and NIN. And I will never disrespect or criticize NIN and Trent Reznor (because he is the father of Industrial rock) and NIN will always be one of my favorite rock bands of all time. They've changed my life man! And I'm sorry if I called you a idiot.
I'm just so sick of shit about today's music. Rock music that is AKA as never ending teenage garbage fake rock SHIT! Or what ever shit that is out there. Sorry if I sound so bitter. Rock on to the old school! Anyways.
Originality, creativity, edgyness, and underground is almost extinct today. And this is one of the reasons why most rock music is getting worst and worst every year.
Ya I know, but this guy that posts these videos has alot fo really well edited videos like this, I am impressed, at the dedication to such a great band.
Just imagine trying to be on the production crew for NIN, the more I learn about that aspect of the band the more I try to cut them some slack when shit goes wrong. Also, can you imagine answering to Trent if you fuck something up-LOL He'd be like "I WAS UP ABOVE IT! NOW YOUR FIRED!" rain rain go away come again some other day. YOUR FIRED. leave, leave go away , NEVER COME BACK BECAUSE YOUR GAY...." or he'd just negate that entire song process and throw a mic stand at your face.
This is from a bootleg compilation titled And All That Should Have Been in which every song was edited from multiple performances like AATCHB. It should be available somewhere for download, too.
FROM ALL THE NIN SONGS, THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST, I DON´T KNOW WHAT IT IS, BUT I CAN´T LET HEAR IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!!!

anyone that thinks NIN sold out or went mainstream doesn't deserve the eardrums they used to make such a pathetic assessment of their music

@jumeau1 Yeah, Trent sold out with albums like Ghosts, Year Zero and How To Destroy Angels.
