There is lots of work in Alberta. More then enough. Enough that the come to London, Ontario to recruit people to work in Alberta. You have no idea what the world thinks of your pollution from the dirty oil sands, because your 40 year majority conservative government. And because of that, the press caters to what you want to hear. Alberta would be fine without the dirty oil sands. Canada is one of the largest polluters in the world, thanks to Alberta.
