hurt against boston. Just because shawn thornton challenged Brennan (not a fighter, a kid, and played his first ever NHL game. Such a random thing for thornton to do. But the fact that even with so many AHL players the sabres still took one of the best teams in the division to a shootout, is a pretty nice outcome. hurt against boston. Just because shawn thornton challenged Brennan (not a fighter, a kid, and played his first ever NHL game. Such a random thing for thornton to do. He also challenged gerbe and vanek for some reason lol) doesn't make him tough. But the fact that even with so many AHL players the sabres still took one of the best teams in the division to a shootout, is a pretty nice outcome. Too bad they lost 3 more important players after that game. Tough to win with that many injuries.

This entire scrum results from Marchand being, well, Marchand. He come bombing in to deliver a big hit, but misses. After, when he tries to play the puck, he gets clobbered and takes exception, along with the rest of the Bruins. I'm all for protecting your team, but there was nothing dirty about either players hits. Marchand and McQuaid completely over react, and behave like goons.

Meanwhile Gaustad hits Marchand from the side in the shoulder half a second after Marchand touches the puck, so its not hit from behind, interference or charging, and he didn't make contact with Marchand's head either.
