I had that problem once before. My first girlfriend. I thought i loved her but after a while we grew apart and i never had the guts to tell her because i didn't want to break her heart. After a while we ended up never talking again. I've never talked to her for a year. And i regret it so much. I just thought that since we weren't hurting each other it wouldn't matter if we broke up. I couldn't have been more wrong. I miss her :(

If you look at statistics, it varies from half to most of the people who think they found the right 'one' divorcing or breaking up in the end. It's very unfortunate. But I think that some people definitely do fall in love with each other. Fairy tale endings like that are uncommon, though; you're right.

If you love someone enough, you should be willing to take the risk of pain. There's always going to be pain in life because without pain there is no such thing as pleasure, so if you love someone and they love you, happiness and sadness are both expected in the outcome of the relationship. No one can always be happy. It is one's own decision to find out if a person they like is worth the pain or not.

I am just mindful of the fact that there are also people out there that wrap themselves in the language of love in order to take advantage (financially and otherwise) of those who are in need of love. They prey on them, so you have to be very careful and listen to your intuition. There are a lot of people out there who will say they love you just to get you to open your checkbook and buy, say, a t shirt or a necklace.

I've never actually been in a relationship, but I've had something similar happen. Someone who I thought was a great friend of mine has absolutely hated me for over a year. It was for something I didn't even do, and she never told me that she hated me. She just talks about me to all my other friends and even they're sick of her doing it.

But yeah, this is SO true. Love is super-important and you should never fake it. It's not worth it.
