  • When two people meet! And! Then 4 people get together & have the profound effect on the world as did the Beatles! There most be some Divine thing going!

The last renaissance until the next destruction of this world as we know it! I am

sure that the Beatles shall survive into the next world as did the Pyramids, etc.

  • he loves john, i love them!

  • I wonder if I can use the saying "It was Doubly Triply weird!"

  • This is the only song in the whole world that makes me shed a tear everytime I hear it. I was born 1993 but yet these two magnificent artists have touched my heart with their music more than anyone else has, and I feel that it's so bloody unfair that Two great artists and friends was seperated from one another due to a maniacs believes. It's just unfair...

  • Hope you have a GREAT birthday, Paul!

  • What a beautiful tribute to his friend, bandmate, and man he spent so much time with! Peace and Love, BobbyK

  • faul

  • I saw him in Rio!!!! I had to thank God for have lived enough to see him! I am blessed

  • The first time I heard this song was live. You know ... it's funny, everytime I hear this song I am moved to tears even now as I write this. What a beautiful song, I can only imagine how Paul feels, I grew up with these men and I love them.

  • I'm crying.

  • This is the first time I comment a video in youtube, I'm doing it just because I'm in tears... Love you John and Paul forever... thanks for changing my life... miss you John, even you have died before I was born... I'm gonna watch you Paul next weekend here in Rio... The show in Sao Paulo was one of the top 5 moments of my life... Love you!

  • I love this song so much it hurts.

  • i wish this song was 10 minutes long but its only 2

  • The way he sings "tears" breaks my heart

  • heartbreaking.

  • I'm sure John had listend to your great song Paul...Maybe he haven't told you,but i'm 100% SURE that he love you exactly like you love him... And he's near to you every day,in every moment of your life Paul, because even if he isn't here phisically, your souls will be a one thing forever,I really believe that,,,,,

Only PAUL MCCARTNEY could wrote a song like this,AMAZING!

  • dislike...he could have put more into the lyrics than this!

  • I want to share this song with my Canadian friends and family. A wonderful CHRISTmas gift, eh! I watched you sing this song tonight on Jimmy Fallon. It really touched me ...and I felt better! Thank you, Paul! ~May you live a long & happy life, Sir!

  • This is Faul not Paul

  • @posuerbuster Well "Faul" was a member of the beatles as well. And he wrote "Penny lane" "Hello goodbye" "Lady madonna" "Hey jude" "Get back" "Let it be" "The long and winding road" "Maybe i`m amazed" "Band on the run" "Jet" etc etc so i think they found a VERY good replacement for Paul when he "died"

  • its a nice day for me to have found this song....I lost my friend some time ago and this captures many of the feelings... u cant write like this unless you can feel like this - well done Mr Mcartney - i offer my condolences for your loss

  • We will miss you John and George R.I.P you have really inspired me i cried wen i heard this

  • I think that it would have been tough to be on the other side of the booth and watch paul singin that without john. I don't beleive were seeing the original film or run thru were seeing the final edit and video performance. I think george martin probably broke down.

  • i cry everytime i hear this. this is the most beautiful song ever. so simple but beautiful. i love you paul and john.

  • it is so hard, my eyes crying. It is so hard. Beatke John yo are uin my heart

  • 26 dislikes...

    WTF?!

  • @YardenGruman i know WTF! this song is wonderful.....f!@# those dissenters

  • What if I said,I really loved you and was glad you came along

  • John Lennon is a genius and Paul McCartney too.

  • Look at Paul's body language. Notice how during the interview segment of the video, Paul never looks directly at the camera (his eyes keep darting away from the camera) and he is somewhat fidgety. Why? Because he is uncomfortable at the topic of John's death, and I don't blame him.

I think it's too painful for him to think about it for too long.

Beautiful song, so sad :( makes me cry. D:

  • I can not listen to this without crying. I grew up in the 60's and was blessed to have the Beatles in my life from their start to finish. I miss them so much it hurts. God bless you Paul to write a song that has so much sincere love it brings tears to millions of eyes.

  • Happy 70th John

  • PAUL. I HOPE YOUR READING THIS. JOHN ALWAYS LOVED YOU AND YOU MADE HIM PROUD

  • wow listen to that vocal. sounds like heaven. noone can do it like macca. noone

  • you were always there with a smile....

  • ...rather loose and segmented, like several small tunes pasted together to form the one thought.....something John would have loved.

  • i cry every time i hear this... so beautiful, but sad <3

  • i want this played by my best friend at my funeral

  • @hamer2202 great comment

  • I feel it with him on this when he says "Cuz you were here today....for you are in my song". I sing this at jam nites with my acoustic dedicated to my wife who passed away from cancer.

  • elenor rigby? i dont hear it .

  • yikes, horrible. and it turns into "elenor rigby" in the middle, lol.

  • @OceanderTethyseus

What do you mean, it sounds like Eleanour Rigby in the middle? I don't hear it.

  • @courierdubois

at 2:41, i can almost hear him singing "elenor rigby, died at a church and was burried along with her name".

  • This songs just sticks to you great song to john thanks paul

  • my god this vid has been up for a long time!!

  • ya vieron q se parece un monton a chabelo,,,, don xajier lopez mccartney jejeje

  • ed ecco com'è andata, e tutto sembra ovvio ancora una volta

  • aww, is Paul crying at 2:43 ?

This makes me so sad! I have like a million tears running down my face right now.

    RIP John, and George <3

  • stop and see paul´s face at 0:46

  • paul was a good friend

  • how can people thumbs down on this unless you did that on accident i have 2 words for you

    FUCK YOU!

  • FCK YOU WHOEVER MURDERED JOHN

  • @maxp493

    Mark Chapman

  • @maxp493 DITTO

  • Paul and John were two awesome musicians and at least we still have him and ringo. RIP John and George

  • Perfect.

  • saad!!!

  • Beautiful song, perfect production, perfect arrangement. John will always be proud of this.

  • "Here Today," was based on a song Paul wrote for John. he refers to "the night that we cried." a night in Florida when he & John spent a nigh didn't know what to do with it, so we stayed up all night talking, and at some point early in the morning, I think we must have touched on some emotional points, and ended up crying,

Paul says they probably ended up talking about losing their mothers at a young age.--NPR

  • I'll allow that a lot of McCartney's lyrics are throwaways (like on "Let 'Em In"). But he's such a gifted songwriter he could sing the phonebook and it would sell millions of copies.

  • By the way, I was *not* talking about his lyrics on this song. They're awesome!!

  • @musicman70707 I get what your saying- some of Paul's lyrics are kinda random and funny- but he makes it work hes so good at making pretty music the lyrics hardly matter sometimes or people love the lyrics for how unique they are

  • Wow, maybe Paul's best post-Beatles song. It's very reminiscent of his Beatles work, and maybe because it's about John it evokes some of that same chemistry they had together. Just a beautiful song, too. Good to hear that beneath the acrimony there really was love. You can feel it on the song.

  • @musicman70707

    Well said!!!

  • Here Today is a song about friendship and love to each others heart.

  • @lien1999816

  • @Yoshi741852, @lien1999816,

for me when woman love the first man she met.... especially her hubby....no other man in her heart !

if hubby drank, she bring into

    sad, cry, tears, deepest emotions

    relationship means from him

when i listen to the violin..........

  • Comment removed

  • paul and john were worlds apart but somehow in the beatles they managed to write some of the best rock songs together, RIP John

  • Opposites sometimes make the best chemistry. They certainly had artistic chemistry.

  • Mr. McCartney can sing can't he? breaks my heart every time.

  • @kgy55555 sir mccartney

  • oops your right! my bad! ^.^

  • He is so filming Pipes of Peace when he got intereviewed xx

  • this song shows me how john was and it makes me want to fight for what i believe in and die for what i beleive in i miss john R.I.P john i love you and ur my influence

  • On Tuesday there will be anniversary...of John*s death. Dear fans!

Let us pray and forget all bad.

We all love Beatles. Let love them as an entity-not love only Paul OR John OR George, OR Ringo but love Beatles-Paul AND John AND George AND Ringo!

People loved Beatles earlier as entity. But after their breakup when each of them chose his own way somebody liked more John, other ppl-Paul etc.....

  • aw, makes me cry. I'm sure John knew.

  • This song brings tears to my eyes, it is so sweet and sad.

  • Paul is such a wonderful singer. This is possibly his best song.

  • @sean991000

    aggreed

    mean i think so

  • This song by McCartney is just awesome and he expresses his deep love and admiration for his soulmate John. There will never be anyone who will ever approach the Beatles, individually and collectively. Another classic by Paul - brings out his deepest emotions and leaves the listener awestruck.

  • Brings me to tears.. such a Beautiful song..

  • when he sings, "i love you" my stomach clenchs and i get goosebumps. i can't even express how terribly i love this song.

  • Paul, you did John proud here.

  • Happy 69th Birthday!

  • God. Now I'm crying. This is such a pretty song.

  • why humans so extremely different...???one part just born to create MASTERPIECES like this, the others without creating ANYTHING...destroying or vandalising or killing...just like jungle ANIMALS !

  • Brothers to the end.

  • Would have loved to hear John talking about Paul in the 80s or 90s, had he lived that long...

  • Paul you said it for many of us. What a talented group for a moment in time.

  • Death would be an easy way out for Chapman. Let him sit in his celland think about it for the rest of his life.

  • Paul played this last week when I saw him at Fenway Park in Boston, very touching song.

  • I just saw him do it in Dallas. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

  • it's beyond sad. if we cant get over it, imagine how Paul feels... probably regretting their fights..and not getting back to " before"...........

  • well John and Paul did become good friends again at the time John died

  • yes i guess you're right.....they really loved each other, & when people do, they may fight, scream etc, but the love will always be there. love never dies !

  • Where's the Kleenex.......?

    I love them.

He loved John, I hope everyone knows that.

  • poor Paul =[ with all the stuff he has gone through I am surprised that he cans till be such a friendly, witty guy. But I'm glad he is.

  • i know this is going to sound stupid, but i really think that killing chapman is kind of,well dumb.and, believe you me,i am a HUGE Lennon fan.i love him,his music, his ideas on peace and love (which i think is a fantastic idea)hes an amazing man with amazing talents.and i really think that killing a man because he killed another man,who was against violence,is pretty stupid.just think about it. doing something that your hero was totally against doing doesnt really make any sense to me at all.

  • I completely agree. John wouldnt want him killed.

  • Finally, someone who feels the same way I do.

  • Yeah, there's so many people who want him dead. It's just ridiculous. I mean, we should keep John's message going. Keep it alive instead of going against it. So in the name of Dr. Winston o'Boogie, "All you need is love." And what's love without a little peace, right?

  • Thiss makes me sad.

  • no, don't be a fucktard

john and paul have been friends since they were in collage, they were best friends

paul has only been with women

  • i'm trying to tell you that he's straight

    ok?

  • he doesn't have a song called that

  • that's Tom Robinson isn't it?

  • Nothing. But in case of John and Paul ist just not the truth. ;)

  • they were friends since paul was just 15! and john was only 17! its so sad really...

u can tell that its still hard for paul with johns death..........

  • The man sure does deal with alot of pain in life. His mother died when he was 12, Lennon died, Linda died on him, George died. Went through a recent divorce. I dunno how he can sleep at night.

  • i thought paul was 14 when his mum died. but youre right. the poor guys been through a lot. sometimes things arent fair....

  • Great song

And for those who haven't heard yet, Dylan, Paul, and Ringo announced making of an album :)

  • where'd you hear that?

idk if thats true but it would be amazing :)

  • This is the best song paul mccartney did in his solo career, brilliant.

  • I think the best solo song from Paul is antoher one he wrote for John: "Dear Friend"

  • .... Chapman, you bastard. Im counting down the seconds until that brain case realizes what he did.

  • im counting the seconds when they will release that bastard that would be the best thing ever he wont last 5 mins out in public.

  • let me know when (or if) that happens. il bring a baseball bat....

Not 5 mins tho. bit more like 2.

  • haha you got it.i wouldnt mind going to prison for it either i would be treated as a hero.

  • you know, to be honest, i think there would be a lot of ol mark's funeral, if only to spit on his carcass.

Yup. hero in the eyes of everybody, even those who don't like his music.. his legend lives on! unfortuneatley it doesnt seem to be the same way for georgie... why not tho? he was just as amazing.

  • its a drag isnt it

  • Paul, você é lindo!!!por dentro e por fora.. eu te amo.... eu amo os beatles, sempre....I love beatles, from Brazil

  • it's obvious with the way he's twiddling his fingers that it's very hard for him to talk about john's passing. MACCA WE LOVE YOU! DON't CRY.

  • I love this song!! is a very beautiful song!!

  • when he played it in coachella i sort of cry such a beautiful song

  • so sad...

    soooo fuckin sad it hurts

  • Yeah :[

  • Simply BEAUTIFUL :) I had never heard it before. A very loving tribute to a dear friend! So sad that he wasn't able to tell John this when he was alive!

  • Thanks for uploading this video never seen it before. I'm so glad George Martin produced this - the video shows that he was finding it almost emotional as Paul.

This made me cry (usually does), such a beautiful tribute to a friend.

  • Sometimes I wonder who was John's really best friend - you know.. for life and death... Stu or Paul...

  • if you think this is powerfull you should listen to empty garden by elton john. john and elton were god freinds to and empty garden is also about john's death.

  • Still prefer "Here Today". Powerful and deeply.

  • Yeah I like Empty Garden too. But also prefer Here Today,

  • Elton and John, worked on one album together. Lennon and Paul, changed the world together.

  • Also, another good John tribute song is, "All Those Years Ago", by George Harrison.

  • Which was recorded with Paul on bass and Ringo on drums :) and it's a great, great tribute song indeed.

  • John is no longer suffering, sick, stressed, sad, all happy now.

  • It's so sad...We want John back...

  • Beautiful song.. Sad, but Beautiful. R.I.P John Lennon, we'll remember you always.

    And Long Live The Beatles!!!

  • i'm crying so much i can hardly type

    what a beautiful song

i know he really meant it

  • And I am holding back the tears, no, more...

  • Very heartfelt! When Paul sings, "... I really loved you and was glad you came along," the line would have come across better as "... I really loved you and was glad I came along." As a courtesy to John - being that Paul, in his very beginning, was welcomed into John's existing band - The Quarrymen.

  • I think he meant he was glad John came into his life. I don't think he meant any disrespect by it.

  • "Glad you came along" is a figure of speech, meaning "I'm glad we met." That's all he's saying.

  • So sweet, It does bring me to tears.

    Paul looks so boy-like here!

I wonder if George heard this song, and / or if he did any tribute to John?

    sniff.....

  • Yes, George wrote a song for John. It is called "All those years ago".

All the remaining Beatles played on it.

  • wow man, thank you for sharing this.

  • There is so much LOVE, is impossible discribe it, but there is so much love that, I start to cry so much in some way. I think is a lovely song, I think that 'till John feel this love in heaven in this beautiful melody and lyrics that was made for your great friend, almost brothers, that who love him so much. like us. the fans; Paul thank you!

  • I'm in the edge of crying

  • Oh my gosh! This song is so sad and so beautiful; I am so glad that Paul would do something so fantastic for John like this. I cried from the first verse. So amazing, and so fantastic.

  • this record in columpia

but why it had george martin, who in emi?

  • this is the saddest song ever....

  • thats so dumb how can you make a guess like that, just soo stupid

  • Hierarchy:

    Dylan

    The Beatles

    everyone else

  • You got that the wrong way round...

    Beatles

    Joy Division

    Captain Beefheart

Everyone else (inc. dylan i'm afraid!)

  • Why is it a contest. Arent we all past 12 years old. All four Beatles wre / are super talented and out shine any of the young pups out there. Each has given amazeing songs and lasting memories. I celerbrate John, Paul, George and Ringo, God bless then , all four

  • Doesn't matter if Lennon & McCartney had a bitter rivalry which was known publicly towards the end of the Beatle days. Listen to the lyrics of this song. Best mates, and brothers to the end. :'(
