@Bluesgoose If you are talking about the Ed Sullivan clip, videos from the Sullivan show are not allowed by the copyright holders on any YouTube channels except for the official Sullivan YouTube channel.
Well, I don´t think the clip was from a show at all. It more looked like it was cut out of a movie. There is something behind her, maybe like a music box or a piano. No people. Pretty much close ups all the time. Trying to remember I think I´ve seen the ES clip too and as I remember the music nor the performance is as good in the ES clip as in the one I´m thinking of.
@Bluesgoose Now I think you might be talking about the Soundie of the song that Teresa made. Soundies were very early music videos from the early '50's. Yes, I remember that clip used to be on YouTube too, I don't know who owns those.
@TheLimePopsicle Heureca - I found it ! - Although the quality of the video is much poorer than it first was when I spotted it.
Maybe its possible to enhance the video, but he sound track is - as I remember it - the original from the record that I played in the 50-ies,reliesed in Sweden, with Copenhagen on the "back" side.
Teresa Brewer recorded this song on December 20, 1949, and it became a #1 hit in 1950. The R&B group The Sensations released an updated rendition in 1961. This was my favorite song in 1950--I was seven years old. ♫♥♫
i remember this song, but i could'nt remember the singer. thanks for post it and let me know the name. i love 'sweet old fashioned girl' too. this woman has a unique voice. thanks very much, again.
Wow, all this time I thought Teresa Brewer had sung Let Me In, but just found it on Youtube, and it's not by her at all! Let Me In was sung by The Sensations. I'm so glad I finally found it. =)
@igggnacio I remember it being in the top 40 in the early 60's. I don't know what era it was from before that. I remember another song by her called Let Me In, but I can't find it here.
@beatlebette Just a reminder that you can read the descriptions I write underneath the videos to find out where the songs came from, chart stats, dates etc.
One thing I've never understood about this song is why she's singing about a Nikelodeon, but then goes on to say all she wants "is you, and music music music". A nickelodeon was a form a 4 cent short film from about 1900-1915 and movies then didn't have sound...
@shmuli9 Truly that's the original meaning of the term, BUT >> There was a parallel industry developing through what amounted to automated, glorified player pianos. You put your nickel in, there is a whir of mechanical activity, and the machine plays a piano-roll recorded musical performance. They're fascinating to watch, much less listen to. Paul Eakins Gay 90s Village restored many of those machines and issued dozens of nickelodeon and band organ records on the Audio Fidelity label.
Saw her on the muppet show and i really like her music

@beatlebette The Sensations did a remake of "Music Music Music" in the early '60's, which is where the confusion is likely coming from.
