@eugene680 I don't think Rigg was being tested by Jigsaw...I think Hoffman was the one behind it. I do know Rigg was being punished because of his obsession to find Matthews. The reason I think Hoffman was the one doing the tests in Saw 4 is he didn't die, he knew ahead of time that Rigg would burst through the door, since he saw it earlier, and Matthews was supposed to die after he failed his test at the end of Saw 2. He escaped and was used as bait with Hoffman being the "other one".

He kills those who's deeds have made others suffer, therefore making them undeserving of their lives. If you listen closely and understand the movies, you'll see that the idea of the traps is for them to face their wrongdoings and make them decide on their life, as they have decided others. Although brutal, it does test there will to live and in a sense, is right.

@Dreizenable The reason Jeff's daughter is an orphan and Bobby's wife died is the people being tested all failed. It's the cruelest lessons in life that actually teach you right and wrong. Even the tests and the deaths along the way in Saw 6 were about teaching the Inusrance broker a life lesson.

Ultimately, the kid in the end failed his test of forgiveness.
