  • the fool has said in his heart there is no God. it truly is a very closed minded attitude. Its denial is what it is. Man doesn't even know all the species on this earth and fools think they can just reason to themselves that there is no God. Hogwash, IF GOD IS BEYOND PERCEIVING with senses or reason, then you will never have your proof, but he can be known, there is a way but its personal, not impirical.

  • @Hope2009pc Nope, only that it is the only way to experience it. Boy, you really do grasp at straws don't you. You again prove you're in denial. Agnosticism is at least reasonable, but atheism is more closed minded than any fundementalist could ever be.

  • @Hope2009pc Oh I have, quantum mechanics, organic chemistry, psychology of personality. You see, you make erroneous assumptions. You have such a limited existence and understanding because you have closed yourself off to a myriad of differing experiences and states of mind. How sad for you. You would probably find some buddhist techniques quite interesting if you would dare try the experiment. You poor empty shell of a person. You should get out of your backyard and explore the FULL universe.

  • @nagual111100 As long as there is gravity. something can come from nothing.

  • @Hope2009pc trite comments do not a truism make. now I know you're grasping at straws. typical atheist responses. you fall right into your carnal programming. you really are bound by the structures of the physical universe if you don't have the spirit of God residing within you. Only by his spirit are the forms and structures shattered and the being truly able to realize freedom. Not a delusion as you would suppose. Too much experience and too many who testify of it to be mere delusion.

  • @nagual111100 Give me 5 examples of a living God. I'll be nice and give you one for a head start. The God that imposes Infinite punishment for Finite crimes.

  • @Hope2009pc Nope, you should know not to ascribe too much anthropomorphism to spiritual matters. This is how the ancients saw the matter. It may be more accurate to think that we go where we choose to go. A spirit born in base material substance is not fully realized and the matter blinds its understanding. It is attached to the physical because of this. If this attachment is not released before death, it will descend down into the physical and not rise. Christ is a light showing us this truth.

  • @Hope2009pc part 2. There is actually support for this idea in quantum physics. Try reading a meaty book, "The Physics of Immortality." Ever hear of the Omega Point? It seems to me you have a great anger toward the typical idea of God. Mayhaps you have lost greatly and blame God or been hurt greatly maybe even by those who were supposed to help you. It just seems that way. Also, our minds are limited and just because we don't understand something doesn't mean theres no reason for it.

  • @Hope2009pc part 3, as for your examples, I'll use a trite statement, "For one who knows, no evidence is necessary, for one who doesn't, no evidence is enough." We can discuss this all day, I've heard all the logical points of atheism and can refute them. You should know by now I'm no typical theist. If you insist on continuing this, bring it on then. I need to stay in practice, haha, most atheists avoid discussion when esoterics, states of conciousness, and logic forms are introduced.

  • @nagual111100 Both of you boys need some help...pray to the only true God in heaven, he'll bring you out of your misery

  • @MrAirman812 you're a funny man and know nothing of my relationship with Jesus. Throw a few more stones at me.

  • red state...

  • there is no god

    great music though!

  • I don't have a measuring device...but I bet when we get to the end of our days and look back...that we will be able to understand there was a more sinners that came to God in the gutter odown on Main Street than in the front rows of a church!

  • this a piece of history that has not been lost. I think God like's it as much

as I do. I'm sure American history will ...ever hear of Leonardo?

  • my god think about that this is real history

  • Why are we all fighting about useless crap? Shut up and just listen to some of the best goddamn singers sing one of the best goddamn songs.

  • @ohlordbabyjesus I'm sorry but every time I hear someone take the name of God in vain, it sends chills up my spine-please stop. God sent his son to die for you so that you might be saved. I am not saying that I am without sin, but please stop breaking one of God's 10 commandments.

  • @Sing4More Nah, that's okay. I don't want to be saved.

  • @Sing4More Then get a nerve block for the spine. Its his soul not yours.

  • @Sing4More I'm Sorry but how is the name of God being used/taken in vain? These are 4 artists singing a Gospel song, this has probably reached more people than you or I can imagaine, this is ONE form of evangalising, and no not one of us are without sin, and no commandmets where broken THAT I can see in this recording

  • Thanks for posting a rare peice of history ... "the Million Dollar Quartet" !

  • Wow Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley all on the one record!!!! Mind blowing!!!!

  • @fifigirlM hmmm you have a point but it makes me sad that religious people refer to their god as "lord" which gives the idea of a monarchy and being ruled by one person, when really, a human is their own lord and are in control of their life, not a god

  • @fifigirlM that is true. However my religious granddad claimed that being a homosexual was worse than being a child molester

It makes me sick that most catholics are xenophobic towards homosexuals and discriminate against them because they have found an "excuse" to and pose as dogooders and "followers of christ" when they are prejudice towards those who are different

the "morals" in the bible are so very uncomplicated and can be taught other ways, religion is unneccessary

  • Science? You mean those bunch of crazies who change opinions from day to day? The only reason they believe what they do is because God allows them to.

Religion will not get you to Heaven. Only the shed blood of Jesus Christ will. I have my joy in the Good Lord that HE put in my heart. Anytime you openly try to shame God, you show hatred towards him. The devil has accomplished his goal if he causes you to believe there is no God and that you do not need Salvation. Praying 4 you, friend.

  • this music is good but i am not religious and have no belief in deities. I'd appreciate it if you brainwashed christian nutters could stop talking about your invisible imaginary friend and his son and using your flowered up words to make it all sound pretty. How about instead, you talk about the music? This is a song not a sermon.

  • @fifigirlM The Roman Catholic Church, along with many apostate Protestant churches, teach and preach a gospel that is grace + works; which as Paul clearly teaches in Romans is to nullify grace. It is either all of grace or all of works. There is no co-mingling of them. We are either entirely saved by Jesus Christ, or we are saved by our own works.

  • Comment removed

  • @fifigirlM For the last 500 years since the beginning of the Reformation, the Roman Catholic Church has been continuing to promote its counter-reformation. Every effort has been made by them to subvert and suppress the gospel as it is clearly presented in the bible. The Roman Catholic church never repented of any of the indictments laid against it regarding heretical teachings from its college of cardinals.

  • Comment removed

  • @fifigirlM that faith that saves is not something we work up in ourselves. That faith is the seal of the Holy Spirit upon the soul of everyone God has elected to save. Faith is the grace. The proof of it being true God-given faith, and not man-made, is that it endures unto the end. It is in fact Jesus' own faith that is bestowed upon us. For it is Jesus' faith alone that saves.

  • @fifigirlM The soul that is born of God, receives all that is of God, all that is of Christ-his righteousness, his holiness, his faith, his life, his everything. That we have faith that produces fruits of repentance, is not works that is done on our part by our own doing, but a proof of the workings of Christ's faith in us, regenerating us, justifying us, sanctifying us, in every breath and every moment of our existence.

  • @fifigirlM He who caused us to have breath in the first place is the source of all that pertains to life and godliness. Whatever of such things as these are present in and through us, is but the clear witness of Christ living in us and through us. It is only 'my' faith in the sense that Christ has given it to me. Just as my breath is my breath only because God has given it to me.

  • @fifigirlM I leave those "funny little tracts" as you like to call them in places myself. Those tracts tell of the ONLY way to Heaven They don't mention bowing before idols and telling my indiscretions to a priest who's main goal is to find a way to get me in bed with him. The catholic "church" is the Whore of Babylon that the Bible speaks of. There is no purgatory, no intercession by any priest, and no hope in a pope dressed up like a clown. John 3:16, John 14:6, Proverbs 3:5-6..KJV, u read it.

  • @fifigirlM I do not know any Jack Chick....I do know what I place around is tracts that explain Christ's gift of salvation to the lost. You must be saved is what my tracts state. Whatever other falsehoods about God u spread by means of catholicism is just tripe. There is NO basis for catholicism in the Bible. And true, I don't care for you to try and explain your way of thinking to me because catholic priests are the devil's chariot and catholicism is the "Whore of Babylon." Have a nice life.

  • @fifigirlM Where any who profess Christ should deny the finished and perfect work of Jesus Christ on the cross-whether they be Roman Catholic or Southern Baptist or whatever organization-is to preach another gospel which the Holy Spirit in Galatians tells us is accursed. Any who add to, or subtract from the simplicity of the gospel, are to be reputed and to be separated from them-no matter what church they say they belong to.

  • @fifigirlM harsh punishments for? possessing a Bible? for declaring Indulgence was heresy? for declaring that the bread and the wine are nothing other than bread and wine, and are in no way transubstantiated to become the actual body and blood of Christ, and to suggest so is both blasphemous and idolatry? For declaring that purgatory is heresy? for declaring that faith alone, through Christ alone, according to the Scriptures alone, by grace alone, to the glory of God alone?

  • Comment removed

  • @fifigirlM please: you are the one who needs to open her eyes to the truth that is clearly evident in history. libraries from Europe to America are feeled with the truth behind what has been the Roman Catholic legacy-there teachings, their practices throughout its dark history. A history which has not changed, and if given the opportunity would revert to its old dark ways in a moment.

  • @fifigirlM it has been a truthful appraisal to equate the Roman Catholic Church with she who is called the Mother of Harlots-Babylon. As a mother of harlots, her daughters-the many apostate protestant churches-are showing their bloodline as they turn to their own versions of spiritual adultery as they walk after the fornications of Jezebel unto bowing their knees at the world's new god-which is old baal and ashteroth-just with a new name-humanism.

  • The Church did NOT burn thousands of people to stop them from reading the Bible. That is a mistruth spread by some Protestant denominations. The Church, under the auspices of government (theocracy) did kill or imprison perhaps 6000 heretics who were Cathars, Gnostics, and others who denied that Jesus is pure God and pure Man, and that Jesus is God's Son.

  • @fifigirlM William Tyndale was burned at the stake by the Roman Catholic Church, as were thousands with him. The torture and murder of Christians by Roman Catholics is a well-documented fact of history. Heretics to the RC' church was anyone who didn't abide by their rules-especially the likes of Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Knox, and thousands of unnamed who found the RC to be nothing more than gross idolatry using Christian language to cloak it. It is still so to this day.

  • @fifigirlM The council of Trent has not been rescinded. It in fact has been furthered along its way. It still speaks blasphemy of the death of the Lord Jesus Christ every time it conducts its pagan mass. There is only one High Priest-Jesus Christ. There is no intercession to God by the pope, his cardinals or any of his priests. There is one mediator between God and man-the man Jesus Christ.

  • Comment removed

  • @fifigirlM i happen to have done my own studies. the worst thing that ever happen to Christianity is when Constantine made Christianity the state religion. Not soon after, all popes that have sat in the seat of ruling as the state religion have ruled with only one thing in mind-power. they could careless about the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Bible, grace or the glory of God. Reading one website will not remove centuries and centuries of history written by eyewitnesses to the fact.

  • Comment removed

  • @fifigirlM everything about the Catholic church, from its gross idolatry to its preaching another gospel, makes it anathema to the faith once contended for by the saints. the Catholic church is no different than what the Israelites did in the wilderness when they made a golden calf and worshipped it as Jehovah.

  • @fifigirlM The Catholic Church absolutely teaches intercession by the Pope. They teach that the Pope is the Vicar of Christ. Even to deny Christ as the only mediator. Making the Church the Mediator to Christ. I have read the Vatican Councils, and their other edicts. They are not preaching the gospel that was once delivered to the saints. As are any other-whether they be Protestant, Anabaptist, Reformed or whoever.

  • @fifigirlM the only way to have an open mind is to reject following a book written by uncivilised deranged cavemen about an invisible man in the sky, to accept there are answers to the universe beyond human understanding, that is how to have an open mind

  • Comment removed

  • @fifigirlM well you are not open minded to anything other than a tribal cult. What can i say? By believing in god you believe you've figured out all the answers just like that, when you haven't, because it is not understandable by humans. But praying to jesus and the bible and bla bla bla is such a waste of time! I've tried to understand the concept of god. But you look at the sky... just clouds, stars, you pray, nothing in return

  • Comment removed

  • @fifigirlM well that's great that you think like that, but i would really appreciate if you could comment on the quality of the music than speak about your religion, I'm sure you can understand can't you

  • Comment removed

  • yeah sorry im just getting a feeling that the people are ignoring the music, which would be a shame, but i got the wrong idea sorry!

  • Comment removed

  • @fifigirlM sorry but.. Jesus is not a religion! he is just everything.. he is the way and the truth and the life. No one goes to the Father except through Him. you dont need a religion to follow him

  • @fifigirlM you are partly correct when you point out that all who say they are born again are truly one of the Lord's people. as the Lord said himself, many who say Lord, Lord will not enter into the kingdom of God. Yet being born again is essential as Jesus tells us in John 3. It doesn't happen by a sinner's prayer or by anything man should do-but is all of God. The Father calls his people, the Son purchased them with his blood, & the Holy Spirit is the one that makes them born again.

  • @fifigirlM But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:13

So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Romans 9:16

The Bible was not given by the Catholic Church.

God himself gave the Bible to his church. It is God who preserves his word.

  • @fifigirlM It is the Roman Catholic Church the burned thousands during the Reformation in an effort to keep the Bible from people. The Roman Catholic Church is no friend of God's people-the very persecutors of God's people. Today, along with RC's there are Protestants, who have trampled under foot the blood of Jesus Christ as they twist the scriptures to form a gospel that makes friends with the world as they become enemies of God too.

  • @fifigirlM but like this song says, and as Psalm 73 and Psalm 37 reminds us-that we are not to fret because of evil doers or those who go on doing wickedly without any apparent troubles. For their path is a slippery path, and their end does come suddenly, like a thief in the night.

The greatest of evil in this world isn't the murderer or other such violence-but those who go about leading children away from the love that is in Christ Jesus-by turning them to a religion of do's and don'ts

  • @fifigirlM ..of touch not and taste not as a means to being saved. When the truth of salvation, for God's people is already been accomplished in Jesus Christ. He really did pay it all. All that is required of God's people is to trust in him. In trusting, we will know what it means when he says:

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Ps 37:4

What do we desire? But to delight ourselves in him more and more. Love that begets love that begets love etc

  • Christianity is one of the greatest abominations ever invented by mankind, but on the flip side it's contributions to art history and traditional music (NOT christian rock) are very good.

  • Can't deny it's one of the best heartfelt versions from four of all time great sinners!

  • Absolutely fan-friggin'-tastically awesome.

  • This is even better than the version on the 'How Great Thou Art' LP. God bless all of 'em - true legends in every way.

  • Live your life for yourself!

  • i think its the word god and the brain washing why some folk turn away, there is a great loving spirit its all about love understanding and commpassion.we are spirits having a human exspeariance. Elvis carl and johnny are just behind the vail.i wish jerry lee and you all good health, wealth and happiness (sorry for bad spelling.

  • I dont hear cash in there and he would be hard to miss!!

  • @derdelyi That is because Cash was not there during any of the entire session. He had departed earlier before the recorders were turned on. It really is the "Million Dollar Trio."

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE Who does the deep last part of this clip the "All by and by" It sounds deep enough to be Cash to me

  • @195477 That's because you don't know anything about the singers who were there. Cash was gone and not heard. Thanks for ur reply though.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE Listen to the end of the line "Though in the wrong" at 48s listen to the very end of the word wrong you have 2 distinct voices that and the line you clearly hear Elvis is still holding the note and a very deep voice ending to the wordit's not Elvis or Perkins or Jerry lee..so who in you're view does it belong to?

  • Comment removed

  • @195477 that's perkins

  • @haneysbighouse Could be at times it's so hard to tell for sure.

Johnny Cash swore he was on the tapes saying he sang in a higher key to fit in and he was a long way from the mic.

  • @195477 I wasn't there, but the story is that Cash was at the beginning of the session (when the picture was made), but not on the recordings. Supposedly he was dragged away by his wife to do some christmas shopping. I've got this session on cd, there isn't one point where I can distinguishly recognize Cash' voice.

  • @haneysbighouse I have to agree to a point but at times i'm not sure and I have read different stories about the picture, some say the 4th Dec some say a it was taken a few days before and he and Perkins both said they remember him singing Blue berry hill but nothing has ever surfaced of the recording if there is one but who knows it took over 45yrs for My Happiness to surface.

In the meantime tomorrow is a big day for Elvis fans so I have upgraded some performances, thanks.

    watch?v=8NflftUN8zM

  • it is good to hear great voices like these singing the work of the Lord

  • This is so neat--I love it!!

  • Well...I just had to stop and ring in on this. God Does Exist. If you can't see it, that means you just haven't looked. Been where you are...done that..goes nowhere. He will call you at some point. He will, he may be just now. Been there.

  • norm58

You dont need to take my comments personally. Just ignore me if you choose. I still am azazed that someone would love gospel music like I do but not want to know where they will spend eternity.

  • Ya see...june4156..it is personal.. not just for norm58...but all of us...he has a choise..his cross to bare...so he does speak in a personal way as there is no other way.

  • I don't have to accept Jesus. If I go by your religion, I have a choice. I choose not to believe. I choose to do good.

Don't worry about my soul. It's doing just fine. But, I do appreciate you taking the time for me.

You too, have a good life filled with peace and joy.

  • You are right norm58, you are truly right, you have a choise.....choose with wisdom. Love is why people worry.

  • I'm an atheist but damn, I love good gospel music!!!

  • I'll pray for you friend. God is real and is calling you. Your saving grace may be your love of gospel music. Listen to the words and let God speak to your heart through it. Jesus wants to sup with you,,,won't you let him in?

  • Nah! I'll take his message: Peace, Love and Forgiveness. The rest, is just bla bla. If there's a god and heaven, and you've applied those three things for all of your life, you'll make it. The rest isn't important.

    But thanks for your concern.

  • You have to accept Jesus gift of salvation in order to make it. Don't do that then when you pass it will be an eternity in hell. I just wanted you to know that. That is the most important thing with accepting Jesus' gift to us all. All else is academic. I said a prayer for you. Not because you are inferior or anything like that but because of your soul. Not trying to say anything here but that I am concered for your soul and that you come to saving knowledge. Have a nice life friend.

  • Norm58...I can only say this to you...I have meet a former atheist...national sponser of that message..it is not a message of love..not..as a scientist and phd he tried to debunk the bible..after years..he gave up...just no way he could. Scientificly, Gods math just plain and simply works...

BTW...I have found that part of the message is not enough. That applies to everything in life...not just God...yet another part of his math.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE

how do you know your religion is right?

  • @nonSteel Simple, it is Biblical. And the Bible is the living word of God. God speaks to you thru his word, circumstances and happenings in ur own life. But, you have to be born again to be on the firing line with him. Simple and uncomplicated. He is my father and he sent his only son to shed his blood for me because he loved us all. That is how I know....and it I don't rely on religion. I rely on God and the Bible. Religion will not get you to Heaven,. Salvation will.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE

okay, that makes sense. Thank You friend, but please, do tell more about this "born again." How does that work?

  • @nonSteel Simple, you will need to realize your need for a Savior and you inviite the Good Lord into your heart and you admit and confess your sins to God thru Jesus Christ. You must ask God to forgive you of your sins and trespasses against him. If you mean that prayer, then you will be born again, you will become a new creature and you will know it in ur heart. The evidence will be the changes in your life and the assurance you have of Heaven being your destination. That is God's gift.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE

I'm Hooked! Ive been doing lots of research on Christianity. I'm interested in, i believe its called catholicism. Is this the correct branch of Christianity for me to follow?

  • @nonSteel NO....you can only confess ur sins to God...not a priest. Catholicism is not Christianity. A Christian is a born again believer only. Private message me if you care to continue please.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE why don't you say it how it really is, instead of all this fancy let him into your heart talk. What you want to say is "there's an invisible place and when you die you magically appear there and you should also convince yourself that your being talked to by a magical giant in the sky, oh & follow a 2000 year old book compiled with stories written by fools who like to watch people get rocks thrown at them until they die" religion sounds stupid when you say what it REALLY is dont it

  • @nananaalgoodaye What I want to say to you is, why are you so angry? Is your life that bad that you want to rebel against your Creator? Whether you choose to believe or not is irrelevant. You will stand before God one day irregardless of whether you believe or not. I choose to follow him and his prescription for my life. God loves all, even the ones who openly display a hatred towards him. Saying a prayer for you to open your eyes to the truth before it is too late. Jesus can take away ur anger.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE I'm angry because you're ruining this video with your preaching. I don't rebel against a creator, i just know there isn't one, there is nothing bigger than us, there is science and the universe, and music. No dead carpenter from 2000 years ago is going to take away my anger, i have friends for support i don't need scriptures. I'm just pissed off, coz no one is talking about the music they're all talking about god! You've got to learn not to follow and to figure out your own path!

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE you've got to learn, that jesus isn't in control- you are! You should have freedom to appreciate yourself and your power as a human. You should value your friends, those who actually exist and are kind to you, let them help you with your problems, you don't need religion, lifes too short for answers

  • That amazes me that someone who doesnt know the Saviour would love gospel music

Can you imagine spending eternity in hell and remembering the words over and over in your heart ?

there is still time to get "saved'

    You are not dead yet

  • Nothing to be amazed about. Good music is good music, period. Stop worrying about my "soul" or my "eternity". Don't lose sleep over it. I'm doing just fine. I don't have any imaginary friends, that's all. If you chose to have one, hey, more power to you. If religion makes you a better person, well good for you.

  • @norm58 ............ everything is ok here in our little time on earth. Then what? Have you ever stopped to wonder what this life is all about where you are or where your going when you lease on time runs out. Are you far too busy reaching all your goals, let me ask you kindly, HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT YOUR SOUL. When I die I know I will be with my saviour for an everlasting eternity! To know this is Peace beyond all understanding. Friend what about you when you pass from this scene? ETERNITY

  • @tim13888 When I die, I hope to get a bit of peace & quite !

  • The love of Gospel music we truly share.

You know what the word Gospel means?

....Good News.... Be careful, as an atheist, the words you use have meaning.

  • @norm58 haha yeah totally! It's wasted on these rednecks though ):

  • This is just great! Elvis and Jerry Lee were both raised in Assembly of God churches in the south so one can sing Gospel better. They have their own style of singing in the south and that's what made so many different styles of music famous.Thx!

  • I sure hope and pray that those who listen will get "saved"

  • In every concert Elvis always sung at least 1 Gospel song. I saw his in concert in 72 and he had the Stamps sing"There's a Sweet, Sweet Spirit". So everyone there got the message, even if they didn't want to. Yes,let's hope that his voice, these many yrs. silenced, will still encourage ppl to get saved!

  • Johnny Cash!!!

    Great video, fantastic quartet!

  • Really wonderful; even The Killer behaves himself... thanks for uploading!
