  • 40 dollars sounds like a deal

  • u can't have that flooring.........

  • @hamsterlover0236 So explain to me what is a better flooring? This type of flooring is beneficial to the rabbits. It lets urine and droppings fall through the so the rabbits aren't walking and standing around in their own excrements. Do your reasearch, this is exactly the type of flooring for a rabbit hutch. The rabbits have a wood floor in the other part of the hutch if they so wish to stand or lay on in the bedding area. This hutch meets all standards for a rabbit hutch.

  • great job looks like they are very safe

  • All those people who are saying that this is animal cruelty, grow up. I have loads of pets and love animals and this man has made a beautiful hutch for his rabbits, they don't have to stand in there poo, and can get inside the little bedroom if they want. You can clearly see the food bowl so don't say he's starving them cause he probably just hadn't filled it up yet. And as for eating his rabbits he was only joking!! So shut up and stop ruining the video for everyone else. And leave the man alo

  • The wire floor is ok as long as you have a resting area filled with soft bedding:)

  • @FunnyGuy8890 trust me they do.. I use all natural cut hay for bedding since it is readily available on the farm. Animal activists are always trying to spout so bogus BS about how the wire flooring is bad. What? Would they rather have the rabbits walking and standing around in their own excrements? The hutch was designed on ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Association) standards.

  • ur not reli ment to hav wire floor cuz it can hurt ttheir feet but other than that great hutch

  • This video really helped when i was building my rabbit hutch and i used alot of the same ideas. thanks :)

  • and if you eat rabbits it's your stuff, but don't say it on the youtube, please.it sounds so disturbing..i have two pet rabbits and when i see that someone say that he eat rabbits i wanna kill him/her..

  • BTW everyone I was just joking about eating the rabbits... Things would have to really get bad for me to resort to eating my rabbits...

  • @america2revolt Lots of people raise rabbits for food, not just those who are bad off financially. Just FYI.

I grow a vegetable garden not because I'm poor (I'm doing quite well actually), but because I enjoy it, and want to know where my food has been and what is in it (No pesticides). Don't have rabbits (yet). But if I did, it certainly would be for the lean meat! Don't fret about the internet trolls who freak out about such a little comment.

  • That's a well built hutch. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to go about building one myself. I have a dwarf bunny and she needs to get out of my house.

  • This is cruel, the mesh is digging into their skin and they have no food or any thing

  • @animalforever123 So here's the scoop, this hutch is built to ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Assoc.) standards (material and dimensions). The mesh is there so they don't walk around in their droppings and urine. The mesh allows droppings to fall through to the ground. If you watched the video you will see where the rabbits can go to get out of the weather and off the mesh. They have fulltime access to the inside the box on the end of the hutch which now has bedding in it.

  • really small

  • very nice hutch BTW

  • For all you nuts saying wire floors are cruel, would you stand in your urine. Think! Wire floors are the best choice to keep your rabbits clean, healthy and comfortable.

    see shinysatins(dot)weebly(dot)com/wire-floors.html

  • @frmtheeast Thank you for you comment, I unflagged this comment I guess youtube automatically fallged it as spam cause it had a link part. You forgot about the DOT before html. Anyway i don't think some of these people that scream animal cruelty have any idea what real cruelty is. This hutch is build to ARBA standards. Perfect size for two medium size breed rabbits. People need to take time to watch the video before they comment. I explain where the rabbits can go to get off the mesh.

  • that looks like a cage.

The rabbits are on a grid.

    why not on wood.

    animal cruelty

    -.-

  • @Daniel27867 if they were on wood they would be in their own urine and feces....that animal cruelty ....he built it the right way....next time GOOGLE your ignorance before posting it under someones hard work!

  • @Daniel27867 They are outdoors tree hugging hippie and their shit and piss needs to go somewhere other than on them. Rabbits' piss and shit reeks worst out of any animal. think before you communicate. Are you gay by the way?

  • @Daniel27867 Did you even watch the video in it's entirety? The rabbit can get off the mesh on the wood floor inside the box on the end of the hutch. The reason for the mesh is so the droppings and urine can fall to the ground and the rabbits aren't walking in it.

  • forrest gump or what

  • nice bunnie box

  • God Damn....... I Raise rabbit's for dog food and some for our self? Flemish giant's cross's.... • God Damn....... I Raise rabbit's for dog food and some for our self? Flemish giant's cross's.... • nice set up.

  • how mean!!! its not good to put them on wires like that!!!!!!!! and dont kill the rabbits for food. how mean!!!! cuz your kids will really enjoy eating there pets babies at dinner. your so freakin mean!!!!!!!

  • The square wire on the bottom of the cage is FINE. Don't listen to people running their mouths about sore feet. As long as they have a shelf or box to get in.

  • @southport97 no, its not good, they can slip a toe through and get hurt, do some research before you go and talk about the rabbits like that!!! its so not good for there feet, you dont know anything about rabbits!!

  • @TheLulu1069 And I guess the ARBA doesn't know anything about rabbits and how to keep them either. This hutch is built to ARBA standards..

  • I understand people kill animals for food, and I'm no tree hugger. It just for me I would need some kind of boundary I would find it hard moralizing the fact that Im keeping two bunnnies as pets, but my pets babies Im gonna kill and eat, lol. Like we have pets to bond and have them become part of the family, and if so, your just gonna eat its children, the babies? I onno at least get your rabbit from bunnies that aren't your pets lol, it just would feel wrong

  • Were did u get that hutch??\

  • @scotieboy100 I built it myself...

  • Thats a pretty good rabbit hutch! You should make me one i have to rabbits that live in the garage in a small cage lol!

  • Hey Man. Nice hutch. I raise rabbits and I have a suggestion for you. Underneath the wire cloth, place large plastic containers. I use the kind I buy at walmart that are rectangle in shape. Almost all of the droppings will fall in them. Either perodically dump them in your garden, or put some dirt and earthworms in them. The worms will love the pellets. Add to garden in spring, or take some of your pet worms fishing. Take a few extra and sell them to other fishermen. Happy rabbiting.

  • aww there traped though...:(

  • omg not for food ther are pet s

  • @coolcrib911 i agree, i eat rabbits, but only the kind that my trusty little polecat helps me catch, he never lets me down, thats why i called him ford xD

  • Nice, I'm thinking on getting some materials to build my own hutch, mostly out of plywood, hinges and wire, but I need some help though. If I put wire as the flooring of the hutch, would it hurt their feet? I hear lots of people commenting on other home brewed hutch videos saying that the wire will hurt their feet. Is that true?

  • I don't care for the wire flooring but I've seen what you've written below. A cool idea would be to build additions so they can go downstairs and lay on those cool rocks during the hot days.

  • wish i could came to your house and make you walk on wire cunt

  • If they are about to have baby they will make a little nest out of their fur, can't give you a specific time before because rabbits are fecile like that, could be a month before or hours before

  • hi amm i like ur rabbits but why dont u put bedding for them?? and just an advise that wire bottom cage is really not good for rabbits but nice touch for the hidey house

  • I am a vegetarian - but I agree 100% that if you eat meat - you should kill it yourself. Don't hide in the supermarket - get out in the garden and the wild. That is how we will save this planet.

  • @septemous amen

  • yea i was thinkin the same thing XxSydneyTimexX Great effort and job but i mean40$ must mean that the wire isnt as good quality it will do but rabiits can do some serious gnawing if they have strong teeth. any way nice hutch

  • @nickjonaslover981 Because the most of the wood was free, and all I paid for was the wire, screws, a couple of 2x4's and staples for my staple gun.

  • I love your cage, and $40 is very affordable just to make one yourself.

    your bunnies are cute also:)

  • still dont eat the rabbits!!!!!!

  • ha ha i love this does that sound crazy tah yall? XD ty you gave me some great ideas awesome rabbits btw :)

  • Meat rabbits are a different breed to these, as far as I'm aware they tend to be straight eared and white. That's a nice hutch as I said before, those buns look very friendly and sweet. Hope they're still doing well, the lighter coloured one seemed very friendly :)

  • great job

  • nice hutch, but does the wire hurt their feet? please dont kill the bunnies btw.

  • Great looking hutch. Have you had any litters yet? I just had 17 babies in 3 litters last week unfortunately I lost 4 but the remaining 13 are doing well.

  • NICE HUTCH!!! BUT DONT RAISE BABY RABBITS FOR FOOD!!!!!!!! ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS LIVE A GOOD LIFE nOt IN HEAVEN OR IN YOUR STOMACH!!!!

  • the original purpose of domesticating rabbits was for food not pets. I personally think that rabbit makes a good stew. And they taste good roasted

  • Excellent video..Very nice hutch..

  • great hutch nd super cute bunnies 5/5

  • I need to do something like this too. I've been collecting scrap wood for a while and hope to pull it off before winter. Keeping pet bunnies in commercially available solid bottom cages is a pain.

  • NICE VIDEO! THANKS FOR SHARING.

  • First, they were just moved to that location just before shooting that video so the bedding is now in place. Second, the ARBA standards call for a wire bottom for droppings and urine to fall out of the cage. Third, the rabbits can go inside and off the cage at anytime they want. Forth, we let the rabbits out everyday to enjoy fresh soft grass to play on and eat. And last, those are pets, if I breed feeders they will be a totally different breed. But thank you for you opinion.

  • if you do decide to breed, i would suggest flemish giants, at 14 weeks, when their ready to slaughter, the are at least 6-7 pounds.

  • kinder response then i would have gave her. screen name grace under pressure really explains her commit though . great vid hope i can do near the job u did. just make a roost box for new chicken i got, don't look pretty but its safe and she must like it, she layed my breakfast 1hr after i built it

  • Jeez Troll. Don't you have something better to do than troll this guys vids?

  • TELL HIM MAN!!!

  • @GraceUnderPressure1 do you not realize that most rabbits are kept in these type cages? just look around youtube you'll find hundreds.

  • @GraceUnderPressure1 Wire is best for rabbits, and they don't need bedding either, the only reason I EVER put beddingin to my rabbits is if its cold and ones about to have babys, this is an amazing cage

  • @GraceUnderPressure1 Those rabbits in the store are killed to. I helped my grandmother with her meat rabbits. The type he has in the video aren't the breed you should be using for food but whatever. Also rabbit meat is rare in the stores here in America. If you want rabbit meat you have ether hunt them or raise them yourself.

  • @GraceUnderPressure1 well people eat rabbits theres nothing at all wrong with it but i have a rabbit hutch that is build the very same was the wire is the best thing they can have so they dont walk on there own pee and poop. and that not bad living conditions really at all its safe warm and i think that it is better than what you see on animal cops and so please if you feel that you can do better than him please post a video showing your cage if you own one

  • @GraceUnderPressure1 your a loony toone all my rabbits will be on wire bottoms asa i get to building it they will have a place with no wire but the droppings and urine will deffinatly need to drop on through oh and i really am sorry that you have grown up the way you have i mean oh my a person raising animals for food whats next chickens? heaven knows the possiblilty

ps rabbit makes fine table fare :)

  • @GraceUnderPressure1 Some people do that!!

  • @GraceUnderPressure1 i have a problem with that just cause its store bought they still have to kill animals he probbably does it more humanily anyways have you seen some of the factories that kill and process anumals they are nasty!!

  • @GraceUnderPressure1 Wow, I think some one stopped taking their hormones for the day. There is nothing wrong with raising rabbits for food. Much more healthy to raise your own food then to buy the meat at the store thats chocked full of hormones. Take a chill pill.

  • 自分で作ったの?素晴らしい!

  • Outstanding job and setup and good cost management too.

  • Thank you General, I'm sure Moses gave you the go ahead on the 5 stars. Thank you Sir. Now I hope I can do the chicken coop at around $80 or less. (just from the building aspect of course)

  • Thats it...? THATS AWSOME.... ha ha!

Man that is built nice... Dosent sound crazy to me but your kids might have other ideas on those baby's.. LOL!! very nice man

  • Well, I'm sure they'll understand, my 11 year old daughter and 16 year old son has no problem when it comes to killing a deer. They love my venison jerky. Usually do at least one whole deer in jerky. And I grind my own deer burger too. I'm sure I'll have to compromise on at least one from the first litter. But after the "baby" wears off everything changes. Glad you like the hutch and thanks a little positive reinforcement goes a long way.

  • @america2revolt God Damn....... I Raise rabbit's for dog food and some for our self? Flemish giant's cross's.... • @america2revolt umm i dont mean to be a troll but that very crule killing baby rabbits to eat really? you could atleast sell them im sorry if i offended you nice hitch

  • Looks good

  • Wonder how noodling for catfish with scuba gear would work out?

  • Ihave never went noodling but have knew some people who have. I see catfish all the time underwater and a speargun would be no match. That is legal in your state

  • Great cage.Just make sure you make another one as soon as the rabbit gets ready to have babies or you will wind up with a bunch of pet rabbits.I did not notice but is there a latch holding the top part shut ? If not then there may be a way for a coon to get in the cage and eat your rabbits.Just a thiught.

  • Actually I did think of a latch while getting the hinges but decided to wait. The weight of the lid and if you notice the way the 2X4's go straight up to the roof. The lid has to be opened from the front center of the hutch. I might worry about a bear opening it maybe one day and eatting the rabbits. But thank you for bring it up. I probably will go ahead add make a latch. Let's see what I can come up with. ~~Show ya jus how us hillybillie folk can com up wit some'em homemade.~~

  • Thats good. But if a bear wants them he is gonna get them as far as a coon they are smart but if it can be raised from only one spot I dont know if they will figure it out or not.And yup I have made lots of things from going to construction sites and getting scrap out of the dumpsters. Its all good.

  • I love rabbit so many ways to cook it. Good job with 40bucks. I"m gonna do this too.

  • If they get too, well, lets just say if they do what rabbits do, I might have send some out your way!! Hey might be a good bartering item one day too!! I'd offer'em Live, cleaned, or butchered. Some will want'em hoppin', some folks want'em cleaned and some folks won't know how to butcher'em. I have an idea for the hides as well. It's time to get back to our roots people. Hell I've had people look at me like I'm crazy when I say something about raising chickens and rabbits and growing a garden.

  • This could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

  • 5 *'s

  • Thanks for the 5 *'s. You're too kind Sister Patriot.
