Geoff Thompson is a truly fantastic teacher, an excellent writer and above all an inspirational martial artist. His pragmatic, no nonsense approach to real world combat is a must see for any serious fighter.

I like how it actualy improves your martial arts skill wether you do karate, kempo, boxing, jujitsu, hapkido, bjj, muay thai, muay boran it helps, compliments and goes well them
Geoff Thompson and Peter are the best guys in the business. If you want to learn about Self Defence then look no further, they are here and I thank them for helping to motivate and teaching me what they know. They are exceptional people.
Geoff has learned what he knows through the trials and tribulations of his life, aswell as his training. I am no Martial arts master but he motivated me to train harder and I have become a better and more confident, self assured person because of his teachings. I Salute Him and Peter they are Pros. and the rest of the guys in the videos aswell.
I echo alot of whats been said already and I have most of Geoffs Vids and Peter is cool aswell and respect to all the lads in the vids. Excellent Stuff.
in my view, realistically thinking i wouldnt want to reach that stage of grappling/fisty cuffs because of multiple attacks and knives.i would be screwed
I like just about everything to do with Jiu-jitsu in that video. But man, punching hurts! I'd rather hit with an open hand strike with my palm than punch with my fists.
That's judo newaza he's teaching. Geoff trained with Neil Adams (former judo world champion), and I distinctly heard him mention 'kesa gatame' (scarf hold).
I really recomend The Fence, Pavement Arena 2, Know Fear and The 3 Second Fighter by Geoff Thompson. Those videos explain human psychology when violence are involved, agression, fear, adrenaline, body language, precursors to violence. This is simply the reality of self defence. Especially important for you to watch if you are involved in traditional martial arts and if you are not competing or not putting real pressure of violence on yourself.
I just bought his book DEAD OR ALIVE.
Good stuff and i read more than half within an hour

he did not jus take all those punches to the face!?!?
holy shit
cardonaman 3 years ago
There's no follow through on the punches. The striker is deliberately pulling punches so as not to needlessly kill his training partner.
TheRealParagon 2 years ago
@cardonaman no he did not. Geoff is "pulling" his punches on Justin. This is simply a targeting drill so you can perfect your aim when striking.
