  • this motherboard is great... but will it blend?

  • Would this motherboard work with a AM2 + CPU?

  • @ionicsavior No it will not. You would need to get the HA08 version.

  • @ionicsavior

    yes

  • Thx

  • use mainstream hardware for a mainstream board!

  • The stickers are wrongly orientated!!

  • Wow that's a very nice motherboard, i love those motherboards that have the LEDs for temperatures and stuff. Split Second is pretty awesome. Even at 30 FPS, the game is crazy smooth and the gameplay is amazing. It runs perfectly on my computer :D

  • by the way, what is that other program, next to coretemp for the temp/fan measurements?

  • @nelizmastr i think it´s speccy from piriform

  • only 1 PCI slot? thats a bummer.

  • Wish i could get this board

  • @Merts478 I don't think you can downgrade. Try running heavy applications? Like a game? Usually CPUs go to 800 Mhz when its on idle

  • Do you need to buy Windows 7 again if you replace a motherboard?

  • @matthewgutz No? If you have your current hard drive and you buy a new motherboard, you dont have to reinstall windows 7. Just connect the Hard drive connector and boot up the machine and it will work.

  • @matthewgutz you might need to install new drivers, nothing else

  • @Merts478 asus crosshair III has 2 bios... i heard you can use the second bios if the first one fails or has problems

  • You should try recording video and audio at the same time. I think it'd work better for these videos.

  • @Merts478 in Windows Vista / 7 go to the start menu and type in "power" and click Power Options. Then select High Performance

  • @ronaldo910messi pentium 3 @ 800 mhz 256 mb of ram and ubuntu 9.04

  • @Merts478 what is your cpu now?

  • That's a good fuckin deal.

  • i wish i could afford a computer that can ever run he simplest games :(

  • nice

  • You sure like racing games :p Great review btw

  • just a off topic question

i just bought an external drive from fantom drive G-force i just wanted to know if i could run software off of the drive instead of my native HDD??? please reply :)

  • @messiBRC10ronaldo9RM As long as you can access the .exe file, yes you can. You can pretty much run any program well except of course, most operating systems.

  • @adamhermie ok thanx

so will the program still take memory off of my system HDD or will it use the memory of the EXT. HDD???

  • @messiBRC10ronaldo9RM It'll only use up space on your external hard drive. Glad I could help (:

  • i like that hummer series :)

  • who is jetway anyway

  • pff. the ide connector is now pritty' much pointless. the cost of sata dvd burners compared to ide dvd burners is exactly the same, if not cheaper.

the next motherboard in this series should defiantly have more sata connectors in place of the ide connector.

    just my 2 cents...

    ;D

  • Hey PCWizKid, if your motherboard would come with integrated graphics (in my case the Asus M4N98TD-Evo /w onboard video), could I have 2 nVidia GeForce GTS 250's in SLI and have the integrated graphics as a dedicated Physx?

  • what game is that? 4:24

  • @pbe33 Split Second as he said

  • @Ioganstone thanks , I liked it the game

  • weird, in CPU-Z it said that your card was a 4290 even though you said you used a rig with the 5830 to test this board.

  • @mng1994 He said you have to disable it if you want which I believe he did not.

  • @mng1994 what happen was the motherboard's intergrated graphics set in 0:52

  • @IWIpartyhatIWI oh ok, didn't know that. Thanks!

  • @mng1994 no problem =D

  • How can I know the name of my motherboard?! And Yes. I have a crappy Motherboard!):

  • i have the older generation of this motherboard with the 790x still a good motherboard

  • Do you actually PC game yourself or is this just a hobby?

  • Cheap boards are fine but when you're looking for a full sized board with crossfire and other nice features like this AMD 890GX based board and you're going to spend ~$100 anyway I say spend the extra %25-30 on an Asus or Gigabyte board and avoid the cheap brands. What board do you think is going to have better BIOS support down the road? I'll take a Gigabyte and spend an extra $30. But hey nice review as always.

  • haha hummer

  • @mrjamesb56 AM3 CPU on an AM2+ board, you don't loose all that much performance. The only drawback is slightly slower DDR2. So, it depends on your RAM.

  • uh jetway wtf is a jetway

  • The ASUS AMD 890 chip set one is way better !!!!!!!

  • :D First... i need a new motherboard...
