@goldenstalion I didn't use the L4D authoring tools (they didn't exist at the time). This was done with HL2 FacePoser by essentially placing the L4D content into a HL2 mod! You can get the HL2 content for GMod and use that... but keep in mind HL2's "Emphasis" for Phonemes are a lot less sensitive than the L4D models... hence why in this video the mouth movements are too severe!

Actually now you don't even need to do that much since the release of the L4D SDK. The point of this video was to prove to a group of negative nancies that it can be done (because they didn't believe me). If I'd put more time in to making a new lipsync and track, I'd have gotten better results. But I proved my point :) Personally I preffer my "Lonely Day" video with G-Man!

The L4D system uses a higher level of sensitivity for facial movements. That means every emphasis setting is so much more pronounced than for the HL2 models. With a little tweaking I had the facial movements looking much more fluid... and for the next video I've been working on (though I haven't had much time lately due to GMod World project) the facial animation is the best I've ever done!

This was made ENTIRELY in FacePoser. Garrysmod was not used AT ALL. The quality of the model rendering alone proves that it was FacePoser, as does the strange physics with the hair. If you're going to make an accusation like that, at least have the stones to back it up with a thing known as "EVIDENCE"

That's how Valve make the characters for a videogame. They used real peoples' faces for half-life 2. It actually works very well, better than having to randomize the process.

It's taken me quite a long time to get the L4D models to work properly in FacePoser. I got to the point where I thought it might be impossible a few days ago when I got the models to load, but they wouldn't animate.

The solution turned out to be more simple than I'd first thought! What has suprised me is how much more sensitive the models are to the "Emphasis" functions than the HL2/TF2 models!
