  • i have a medtronic enrhythm pacemaker..had it put in october 2008 for severe bradycardia after a radiofrequency ablation for inappropriate sinus tachycardia cause my heart to go too slow. its a rate responsive pacemaker and also has atp therapies for when i go into a fast rhythm but i still have to take medication to control the tachycardia.. verapamil 360mg in the morning and 120mg at night. does it hurt when u get shocked? =(

  • @PacemakerChick I do not know what it feels like. I've only been shocked during device testing (DFT) during implantation and I was under for that. Some people report it as being an awful experience and others are sleeping or have passed out and have no recollection of it. It must such to go in for a tachycardia ablation and come out with bradycardia. Sorry.

  • @hugooc aww thanks.. yea when i first had it put in it took some getting used to for a few months..but now i dont even think about it really... my scar is barely noticeable.. i saw medtronic came out with a MRI safe pacemaker and leads this year so im hoping when i get another pacemaker in a few years that will be my next one... now that u have the carelink does that mean u dont have to go to the dr for getting interrogated anymore..or do u still have to go even though u have the carelink?
