  • Remember when one week of the year both HBO and CINEMAX gave us a free preview for the whole week and they would have spokepersons insist that we buy HBO and contact our local cable provider and have our credit cards ready?

What a moments came to me when I see this intro... especcially Friday´s night :)

  • @MrMorningside125 Some of those movies were actually very well made. It seemed like it was a very unique genre of film. Most of those movies as I recall were from Europe. I miss those days big time.

  • @MGR1900 Do you remeber a movie from like 1996 it was about a girl in south america or something they showed it during the spring or summer of 1996 I wish I could remeber the name.

  • @JDOGFTW I didn't have Cinemax during that time. Do you have any other information about the movie? You might want to do a search at the IMDB.com.

  • @MrMorningside125: It was called "Friday after dark".

  • Those letters are so 80's it hurts.

  • 0:09 the C looks like pac man

  • This intro looks so similar to the CBS Movie intro from the same era.

  • I don't remember this logo. Then again, we didn't get Cinemax for long after it become a channel you had to pay extra for. It's a neat logo, though.

  • neat..it sucks!

  • I liked this logo for Cinemax, because I feel scary the present one (with the "max" part in big letters in a circle)

  • man, this takes me back . i remember when u had to pay for Disney

  • Yeah I remember this one. They played this when there was a Sespense or a love movie was coming on. They played the upbeat one when a horror movie or a comedy was coming on. Memories.

  • This and HBO's intro are the greatest from the 80's!

  • WOOH look at that awsome CG!

  • For me this brings me back to when I was little living in Central America. We didn't get cable and during Christmas, while visiting Guatemala, we stayed at a hotel and thats when we got Cinemax, Disney, and HBO.

  • Ah yes, the intro just before the beginning of the 70's or 80's Emmanuelle flick late night....oh well....

  • Oh man, so typical of 80s graphics style.

  • Yeah, I love those New Wave graphics.

  • just HOW did they make the graphics? computers were SLOOOOOOW back in the 80s.

  • I don't know, but they were mostly likely NOT the IBM PCs, Commodores and Apples that were available to the average end user.

  • I agree. Even on today's computers, it still takes a lot of work to make it look this good.

  • Oh yeah, I remember this! lol...
