  • At 0'44 there is 10 whites for 1 green !!!

  • Lagisqu' est énorme sur cet essai, la relance et la derniere passe apres redoublement, c'est vraiment tres fort.

C'etait bien les samedi apres-midi rugby dans ces années là

  • @zoltar56

    Lagisquet était un joueur magnifique!Quelle équipe avec Dubroca,Garuet,Ondatrs,Lorieux,Rodriguez,Berbizier,Cambé ou Mesnel,Sella,Blanco,des mecs comme Charvet,Lafond,Andrieu complétaient merveilleusement.Les samedis du Tournoi dans le chaudron du Parc c'était ENOOORME;

  • There is nothing more beautiful in the world of sport than a French rugby team in full flow.

  • Shall we see this kind of Rugby again? I am afraid not!

  • Magistral !! Le French flair c'etait ça ! La relance et le crochet de Lagisquet sont phénoménales! L'action dans sa globalité l'est tout autant. Bravo !

  • à 2'14 le lancer de canette.....

  • Lagisquet was nicknamed "TGV" (bullet train).

Berbizier Blanco Lagisquet = the origin of French Flair. Blanco was a god of rugby.

  • 1989 was the final year we butched 'em......... thank fuck. After Oti scored in 88 that nailed it......... 26-7 with carling was GOLD.

  • i am english but blanco was one of my heroes......... just so enigmatic........ try everything........ even v eng 1991 when camberabero ran from under own posts, as much as i didn't like it, it was pure rugby at its best. EXACTLY how it should have been played. All glory, all risk, all reward. Superb.

  • What a joy France were to watch in the 80s. Blanco the Maradona of rugby.

  • Ah the annual stuffing from Serge Blanco-era France... those were (not) the days.

I grew up watching those games -- in awe and in terror. In fact I am still afraid of Springtime in Paris.

    Lagisquet, what side step...

  • I also grew up watching those games, but on the continental side :)

I played rugby for 15 years because of this team.

  • Takes me back. I was at that match. The worst stuffing I ever saw Ireland take and I've seen a few. I think the score was only 25-6 or something but France scored about five tries and missed all their kicks.

Just listen to the roar as Lagisquet starts to run across the park. They KNEW something was about to happen.

I can remember that roar and the way it made the ground tremble so well.

They should never have left Parc des Princes!!

  • Was a try not worth 4 points then?

  • It was. OK, they missed four out of their five conversions. I exaggerated!!

And they got a penalty (or drop) as well.

  • Gosh Lagisquet! What a player...

  • magnifique!!
