@malechauvinistxy haha stop talking shite lad. no 17/18 year has ever played like Rooney in the Premier League at that age! Ross Barkley might come close though.
@1987iniesta Not quite what? Sorry, could you clairfy? As much as the creation of the Premier League helped United cement their success and stay above Liverpool in title hunts, it also, to my mind, helped keep clubs such as Liverpool in the financial green. The TV money since the nineties has been insane mate.
Both talented. Rooney's already big, while Rodwell will be in a few years. The biggest difference between them... Rodwell has loyalty. Rooney couldn't even spell the word.
rodwell will play 4 man u in the end when scholes goes rodwell comes and i would love bale 2 come when giggs goes and richards 2 come when neville goes but thats just what i hope ...... any way everton gave us rooney man u gave them saha and phil neville so stop crying
@MrBeefyj i think the same, bale and rodwell look class replacements for giggs and scholes although i cant imagine them being better. but i dont think micah richards, rafeal looks like a good replacement. Rodwell will stay loyal to everton for first team foot.ball but if he lives up to his potential he will defintiley move to a bigger club to achieve bigger things.
lmao dude everton and united have close ties and connections, That arent Publicised , Gary Neville And phil Neville, Rooney Saha Ur dumb to think Rodwell Wont Go to MAn U
@duandknibbs I think ur dumb to think that Rodwell will want to go to United. You have no idea what it's like to play for your home town club. Rodwel will stay, no doubt about it :D
@bluenose30695 i think im not dumb u must not know how footballl really goes. Manchester is a bigger stage with higher expectations, eventually rodwell will get bored of the simple life at everton, nd he'll move on
@duandknibbs Some players don't have that need to play on a big stage... They'd rather stay with their club and keep fighting the fight than move to a big club and buy into trophies. That's called loyalty btw, something you fucking Man Utd fans would know nothing about.
@saplingg Ok Douche bag Saplingg. Ryan Giggs has been at them club for 20 years paul scholes Just as long Gary neville, like wise , ole gunnar solskjaer, John O'shea and darren fletcher arent leaving and neither is Wes Brown and Guess what Fucking Rooney is signing a 6 year deal.
So fuck you. And the only reason why Ronaldo left was because The Glazers(uniteds owners) need the money. Fuck off
@duandknibbs Yeah, you've got a good number of one-club men, no one disputes that. But it's not hard to choose to stay at a club that's winning a lot of trophies, and let's face it, Man U have been dominating English football for a long time now.
It IS hard to say no to "fame and glory" and stick to your club, your beliefs and your roots. Which is what Rodwell has done by pledging his future to Everton.
@saplingg United know all about loyalty. Its the key to their sucess giggs, scholes, neville, o shea, fletcher, rooney, vidic, ferdinand, evra keep signing contracts and keep winning trophies. Players who have not been loyal just miss out like ronaldo and tevez.
@LoganBridges I wonder why they're so loyal to United.... oh yeah, the wad loads of cash they get each week, and bonuses that other clubs can't afford. Also, I was beginning to gain some respect for Rooney again, after the interview he did with Everton tv talking about how he still feels very close to Everton and was going to bring his son up as an Evertonian. But after what he's done to his family, he can feel the wrath of abuse from the Goodison crowd and I'll be there Saturday.
@LoganBridges you united supporters are all the same. Think your club is going to be the super power of the premier league forever. My fucking god, you're more blind and more ignorant than an American. I doubt you've even ever been to Old Trafford. Just another glory hunter from another country, backing them because they win trophies. In another 5 or 10 years when your manager leaves and your team becomes the shit they originally started as, you'll trade your united shirt in for a chelsea one.
@grahto Biggest stadium in the country. Biggest global fan base. Biggest market value. 1st class academy, training ground and global scouting setup. I don't see how Utd could possibly go back to the trophyless times of the pre Ferguson era. Sure his reign is going to come to an end sooner or later, but if you think they will just collapse when that happens, you are sadly mistaken.
@Hardysamnin United's academy is pretty good, but 2nd class these days at best I'm afraid. The club loans out it's best players to premier League teams galore, yet, this is only true because of Alex Ferguson's vast network of contacts and swaying power. West Ham, Liverpool, Everton, Middlesborough, Manchester City and Newcastle are all producing the best players at the moment.
@owenhunt - Although I would argue that's it obviously more than second rate, I couldn't agree more. Producing our own talent is not something we have done for a while now, however that was never my point. All I'm saying is, everything is set up for success in the long run. All that's needed is stabilty and experience, and Utd have that in abundance throughout the whole staff. IT wont crumble like the Roman empire when SAF leaves, that is my point.
@Hardysamnin I think since the financialisation of football in the nineties, clubs such as Liverpool and United have become too big to fail. In the past, SAF leaving would have caused genuine worry. At best, his departure will cause a serious lull in United's title winning exploits and a few years of relative mediocrity. I think the problem for United's academy players for the forseeable future is AF's ability to get the best out of average players like Carrick and Park.
@Hardysamnin One difference under Dalglish to Ferguson so far is that Liverpool's Parks and Carricks are found in youth players who otherwise wouldn't be ready such as Flannagan and Spearing. Subtle differences such as these will allow Liverpool to overtake United in coming times. Remember Machedo? Exactly.
@Hardysamnin Right, but complacency isn't going to win any awards. I never said United would topple anyway, they're too big to. Before all this money was plughed into English football you'd have several different teams compete for the title each years, constantly being replaced by new emergers. United and Arsenal became successful at the right times and are in no danger of ever seeing mediocrity.
@Hardysamnin Spurs might go downhill a little actually, seeing as they rely on certain players such as Bale, Modric and Van Der Vaart. If Liverpool finish above Tottenham and bid for either, they could be in trouble. In general, I just wish more teams, such as even Everton, could compete for players and give the PL that next level of excitement.
But Spurs consistently fail to meet their own standards; it's hard to ever imagine them actually challenging at this rate.
ehh.. Rodders just signed a 5 year contract with Everton. Rooney was different, the owners had to sell him in order to pay off debt that could have Everton in administration
@evertonian6 ehh well the "owners" sold the one of the best strikers of his generation. Plus Rooney would not have become as good as he did being stuck at Everton. I think for Jack Rodders it is dissapointing. A good chance came for him to become an England great knocking and he didnt take it
Rooney's talent has never improved since he went to united. he's just become older and played more matches. he was as equally as good as he was at everton. all his talent was developed when he was with us. and how can he say rodwell won't become an England legend if he stays with us? He will be an international star with Everton. For once would you ignorant Manure fans shut your traps and have respect. You're always buying trophies and you know it.
@evertonian6 As a United Fan I Agree with you Fifavibes..... Look at Roooney's performance at the world cup... discraceful. Rodwell, Walcott and Wiltshire alone would've done better than the bunch of loosers we saw at the WC!!!
Just an example, Matt le Tissier only had 8 caps for England and never became what he could've been with the national team because he played for Southampton.
He gets my respect though for sticking with his team :)
