I love NFS III Hot Pursuit... I always drove a black Schigera and was always going more than 140 MPH. It's too bad that I can't get the new NFS Hot Pursuit for a Mac (I don't have an XBox or Playstation)

Yikes I just got the vivid flashback of cop cars hiding behind that EA sign thing. Damn always would hit me and I'd lose the race until I learned their tricks haha. Also nothing brings more joy than seeing the CPU opponent flash red/blue cause you made it crash into you and IT got the ticket. HAHA

Hole in the wall at 1:43. Turn right into it and it's a shortcut to the boardwalk. Saves you about 10 seconds. Also, at the beginning of the race, on the left of the giant curve that leads into the canals, if you go on the raised path to the left it gives you some pretty epic air. Nice driving. Doesn't every track in this game have a shortcut?

How come "central" doesn't respond to the cops? Usually a woman responds by saying something like "All units, unit 34 in pursuit of a silver diablo near the civic centre"

The sound system of NFS3 'abuses' the stereo capabilities of the soundcard to play many sounds at the same time. The voices from the cop's are played through the left speaker and the voice from Central through the left. Engine sounds & music is played via both channels. This way only 3 or 4 sounds are played via each channel which was doable without static or lag on the soundcards from that time. :)

Fraps records only 1 channel by default, so the responses from Central are not recorded.

I rememer trying to get a best time on this track with the El Niño so many times, but I always got caught up on the S-Bend at the end of the boardwalk. Finally I decided to use the Mercedes CLK-GTR and cut off 7 seconds to make a final best time of 1:42. (PC Version)

I think I just beat the game without a code. The El Niño was cool and all but I always preferred the CLK-GTR for its handling. I tried to play this game the other day but I got some error that I can't play DOS 32 games in Safe Mode or something (I wasn't even in Safemode). Apparently there's some program that lets it be played in XP but I don't think I have the correct disk. Oh well...

I agree. The Atlantica track for example is more beautiful on ps1 than on the pc version. Same goes for Hometown, Redrock, Rocky Pass, Country Woods, Aquatica, The Summit and Empire City. The only track that looks better on the pc version is Lost Canyons.

Exactly, if EA wanted to go with some dumb ass ricer crap, they should have started a new series. But of course, the NFS name is all shit on now by NFS 7-12. Well, I actually enjoyed NFS Underground when it came out, but it definitely didn't feel like an NFS game.
