  • @Johnnystrychnine What is Latin Language ? It is Actually GREEK !

GOOGLE IT ! ALL the scientific Terms are taken from the GREEK ! ! !

Biology (Bios + Logos) - Gynaikcology (Gynaika + Logos)

Psychology (Psyche + Logos) - Pediatry (Pedi + Iatros)

    Bios = Life , Gunaika = Woman , Psychi = Soul , Pedi = Kid

Let me tell you another word that ALL the planet uses daily.....

TELEPHONE from the GREEK Tele (distanca) and Phoni (Voice)

    Educate Yourself Moron !

  • i lov italian food and greek food pasta and pizza is naughty but moussaka and sheftalia is more naughtyier

  • Souvlaki over Pizza , unless the pizza is nice. But a good souvlaki ( kostas paidia mou ) is always the best stuff.

  • @Johnnystrychnine my friend during byzantine timea the turkish lunguage was not present in eastern empere sinse turks/seltzuks haven t arrived yet... they did later about 1000-1100AC and that was the time when byzantium had its downturn.... as for the greek language it was formally spoken not only in east but also in the west, as for the jealousy of greeks towards italians thats smthng i hear for the first time...

  • GREEKS INVENTED PIZZA AND PASTA LOOK IT UP !

  • @R10freestyle THAT'S RIGHT ! "PIZZA" ACTUALLY MEANS

    ~ P ~ I ~ T ~ A ~ WHICH IS THE GREEK PIE ! ! ! !

WHEN THE GREEKS USED TO WORK AT THEIR FIELDS

OUT OF "NAPOLI" WHICH IS A GREEK NAME TOO,

    N E A - P O L I S = NEW CITY IN GREEK,

THEY USED TO CARRY WITH THEM IN BAGS

    ~ P - I ~ T ~ A ~ AND SAY TO EACH OTHER "COME ON TIME FOR A BREAK LET'S EAT OUR PITA"

ITALIANS WHO USED TO HEAR "PITA PITA"

TASTED IT ONCE, THEY LIKED IT AND THEY COPPIED

THE RECIPEE AND THEN CALLED IT "PIZZA"

  • greeks have stolen their food from the turks... if they didn't have turkish dishes they would starve

  • no thatrs not true i own a pizza lace id rather ha souvlaki

  • I've been meaning to say this for a while, as a 2nd generation italian I can honestly say that greeks try so hard to be like us. Its funny how they try to model themselves after us in every way and try to basically duplicate our culture. I live in NJ also and will refuse to go a restaurant in which a greek or mexicans try to make our food.

  • @gymratg88 yeah right..i want to become italian...pffff

  • @gymratg88 stop making up bullshit...honestly. Greek and Italian are two different cultures. How do you imitate Italian-Americans when most of them act like every other American?

  • @SirGeorge8600 different culture? Italians-Greeks culture are the WESTERN CULTURE, we create it.

I'm italian and I'd prefer italian foods but greek food for me is one of the best in the world.

Spasnish, Italians and Greeks foods >>> all

  • @QuadraroImp greek food doesnt exist, it is turkish ottoman cuisine. learn your history. even etruscans who brought civilsation to europe were anatolians.

  • @erdal0 anatolians don't mean turkish, anatolians in the ancient history mean greek-byzantine.

  • @QuadraroImp Anatolian=Turks, DNA tests show that Turks have 90% the same DNA as ancient Anatolians and etruscans. People are waking up to the facts.

  • @erdal0 How its possible if the turks comes to Turkey later for the point of view of romans(italians)-ancient greeks?!

The origin of etruscan aren't sure.

  • @QuadraroImp Most Turks are descendants of ancient anatolian people like anatolian greeks. Small minority has mongolian blood.

  • @gymratg88 lol,,no my friend,,,your ancestors romans duplicate greeks,,so you are just a copy of greeks!! greeks never will behave like italians

  • @gymratg88 And if you really new anything about greece and italy and their history... you would know that Greece was an empire before Rome ever was! so very much of your culture has been borrowed from us Greeks! the art.. the philosophy ... the architecture.... the gods... basically, you guys borrowed OUR culture! but there is nothing wrong with that... you guys were simply inspired! the same way we were inspired by civilizations that were there before us! It`s just the way things go!

  • I am Greek but I LOVE chinese food LOL

  • Hard to compare every single region in italy has their own style...I'm from calabria and many of our dishes involves chili peppers

  • Hi. I don't know what all these garbage comments are about. What the hell is wrong with people? If you DON'T LIKE IT...don't watch it..click off.

  • Greek food similar?! Each place in Greece has its own variety of food and way of cooking, what is she talking about?

  • @twohandtap she doesnt know a thing my friend...tosa kserei tosa leei..

as you said every deferent place and village in greece has its own foods and specialities...

  • Greeks had food since ancient times, and while greece was growing many people gone to italy from greece, MANY, so the foods are similar

  • Greek food is very varied. This woman doesn't know what she is talking about! Have a look at "kalofagas" website to see what I mean

  • Melanzane parmigiana Vs. Mussaka???

  • The problem with Greek and Italian food is that it's been stolen/copied from many other cultures and civilizations in history. Being half Italian and half Greek having spent my life around this food I can confirm this more or less. But then again there's no such thing as an "ethnic" food. Ie. Pasta was Chinese, Pizza was Ancient Persian, Connolies were Napoleonic French, Baklava- Iranian, tomato sauce/tzangiki sauce were all used in the Americas prior to being discovered by European explorers.

  • id say it depends on your taste like im greek and i find both a rly good even though i like greek a bit more...maybe cause i grew up eating greek food and thats wat im used too:)

  • @paulyseb That's because Souvlaki isn't the equivalent to the pizza. Possibly Spanakopita is. Or probably flat-bread pizza which is made on pita in Greece.

  • thats a tough question Im part Greek, but people think Im Italian, and I love both Greek food and Italian food I love gyro and I love lasagna and I love loukamades and I love zeppoles, omg I love Greek and Italian food so much, that its so hard to be on a diet these days

  • Its not fair to say Italian food is better than greek food because Italian food is the best in the world, better than any country. World renowned and enjoyed. Just like Italian fashion. Greek food is still great tho, hot girls too :)

  • u guys are all wrong...im from sicilia and my husband is greek we do not have the same foods at all...except for our meats can be cooked the same way..but greek food is in the same essence of lebanese/turkish food...not the same AT ALL!!

  • When you find Lebanese/Turkish food that tastes as good as Greek Food be sure to let me know. I would like to try it.

  • i didnt say they taste the same...or are the same...buh the essences used and the way the food is cooked is in the same traditions, i no i live in montreal, its so multi cultural and i have leb., turk., friends that agree wit me!!

  • Yeah I was a little too brutal, others do use similar methods and ingredients but the end outcome (in my opinion is inferior, yet still good in flavor),for example doner kebob and Gyros. I also know the greeks have borrowed alot from those Turks, I am Greek myself, I know, but when you are occupied, for 400 years, your captors will start to influence you. In my opinion Greeks have original food, but the food they borrowed, they took and made it better, and has developed to have its own taste.

  • Greek food has the same essence of Armenian and Lebanese not Turkish. Turkish foods are just stolen from many cultures like Greeks and Armenians and hell yah Italian foods kick ass

  • @siciliana022 I dont know. Pastichio (sp,) which is a Greek dish, was inspired by Italian Lasagne. Those other nationalties you mentioned, I wold say Greece influenced THEM as opposed to the other way around

  • stellu, glad we can agree on something! im napoli italian and also like heat to pizza. i go to a lot of greek festivals and italian festivals.i love greek people but the food is totaly differant to me.like comparing pastitsio to lasange!

  • Comment removed

  • i dont call it Pastitsio. i call it magarouna do funou. izit because i come from cyprus(greek south)??

  • We always watch the same videos I swear! And I dunno cos my mum is cypriot ans she calls it pastitsio aswell but ofcourse the cypriot way: basdichio :)

  • stella,(facebuts dad),i am 100% italian and i know chili peppers are not part of italian food commonly, not spicy hot food anyway.you might meet an italian family that eats that way or have a recipe from italian. but that is not common.you might eat something prepared by an italian so you think this must be what italians eat!not in general.there are nationalities where hot spicy food is common, but not italian.oh,and try to be nice.you have a nice day.

  • @Facebut85 Hmmmmm the entire region of Calabria eats spicy food....tutti i calabresi mangiano il cibo piccante!

  • A lot of Greek restauranteurs have ventured into Italian food business, one of the most famous Italian restaurant in Atlanta Georgia, is owned by a Greek the name of it is "Veni Vedi Vici", most of the Greek food is braised, braising takes a long time and it is very healthy. Salute!!!

  • Italian food is faster to make, in todays Restaurant business you have to make a meal fast, people dont like waiting, in the USA before 1980 there were a lot of Greek restaurants with entertainment that served delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere, people stayed there for hours enjoying the food and dancing, today those types or restaurants have disappered, Greek food in the USA is still sought after, Italian food is #1 and Chinese is #2, changing of times... live longer! eat Greek!....lol

  • uhh im from southern italy and our food is NOTHING like greek food!!!

  • just to tell u sicilians dont cook hot spicy just so you no!!!

  • It's grammar bud.

  • @stellu2 maybe you shouldn't insult people on their GRAMMAR if yours isn't too hott as it is. You capitalize unnecessary words as well. Get off your high horse. Thanks.

  • Comment removed

  • @stellu2 Absolutely not. Capitalizing the first letter of a word does not add emphasis. Capitalizing all letters in a word adds emphasis. You're just using extremely improper grammar actually. They teach us that in like the 3rd grade. Just saying. Don't insult people on their grammar. I'm an English major.

  • Comment removed

  • @stellu2 Then don't insult people on their grammar. And by the way, it's not "it's" in that context, it's "its." You're saying "America has the lowest scores in educating it is children." Get a fucking clue. Don't act like you're better than people and insult them for things you can't do better. People like you make me sick.

  • Comment removed

  • @stellu2 Nah, fuck you. You're fighting with a good amount of people here. What the fuck does that tell you? Umm yeah, piece of shit. I don't care I just think it's pretty hilarious how retarded you are. I'm fucking with you for shits and giggles. You deserve to get the shit beaten out of you.

  • I like both foods but Aposto has won me over. Aposto rosks!!!

  • Yeah i am greek but i have to say one thing PIZZA 4 LIFE!!!!!

  • u lot ever heard of cyprus they are the true masters of greek food amazeing food and greek hav got the best olive oil u know wot the italians do they buy the olive oil from us greeks and make out its their own and thats a fact but southern italians are very much like greeks so big respect anyway

  • New York does have great greek resurants, but in the United states Italian food is much more popular many Italian dishes are staples in Americans diet and not thought of as exotic or forgien where as many would view greek food as such. greek food is more like Turkish and mid eastern food then Italian food. Italian food well, in the north is closer to french pesant food and in the south is like on one else

  • yeah, southern Italy is pretty much greece demographically speaking...

As for food, I had never had Greek food until 2007, when I entered a Pita Pit. Greek food is obscure in the minds of most Americans. Thats the only food I associate with as Greek, pitas..

while Italian food is mainstream. This is probably because there are a lot more Italian Americans than Greek Americans.

  • Greek and Italian Food is not the Same Trust me I'm Italian and Greek. And I prefer Greek Food over Italian Food.
