Why isn't the Man of Colours reissue 2002 not available in the United States? I tried to order a CD by Icehouse yesterday at Barnes and Noble (a bookstore that also sells music), and they only had two CDs that were available to order. The rest were not available. The sales clerk tried to order on amazon, but Man of Colours reissue was not available there either. Icehouse has fans in the US that I am sure would like to order CDs. They are a fantastic band! What gives?

Yes REBEL FM is very cool indeed love that station. I'm not going to mention his name but his initials are JB and he's appearing on every youtube vid I hate him...

Its a shame cus I was born in 83 and grew up through the 90's i'm in the wrong era but I would love to go back to the 50's 60's 70's and defo the 80's which is my fave era due to the very cool music and films the 80's to me screams out the words have fun. haha! This song was on the radio like every 10 minutes when it came out. I admit this was one the first songs I cranked up loud will driving because I had gotten my driver's license! My Mitsu Cordia with louvers for the 'Mad Max' look, pull-out tape deck, neon green sunglasses, and THIS SONG! Even then, other drivers were like 'uh, WTF?' ...Louvers have make a comeback by the way..

Grunge kinda killed a lot of aussie bands that broke into the US in the late 80's. INXS/Icehouse/Midnight Oil/Divinyls - they didn't know where to go, they became experimental/left of centre and promptly fell away (in the US at least). Australians do real pop/rock better than anyone, moving into subtle cutural shifts was not a specialty.

I discovered this song in 1989/1990 and it's been my favourite ICEHOUSE track since then. It's quite under-rated and not as well known as many of their other songs. What a great Aussie band, great rock songs and memories of the '80s!

How INXS became a bigger band than Icehouse, I could never fathom, even when I was a teenager growing up with both bands at the peak of their careers. Although INXS maintained a steady lineup throughout the years, Icehouse's music crapped over INXS any day.

Apples and oranges really. INXS always made great music but never made anything like Don't Believe Anymore or No Promises. But alas, Icehouse waxed and wained. I personally feel Icehouse's peak was that period when they did the Sidewalk and Measure For Measure albums. Next to Icehouse at their peak and INXS, "Touch the Fire" is commercial claptrap. I was sad to see Iva doing this stuff... He can do much better.

Why Icehouse were never massive in the UK has always been a mystery to me; in my opinion they were far superior to the likes of INXS, and Iva Davies is a musical genius - having written and produced music for ballet as well as pop music. It makes me so angry seeing thesuccess of some of the talentless wannabes in the charts today when someone like Iva remains virtually unknown here..
