  • Is that the new britain reservoir? Or Farmington one by any chance?

  • @nic13x13x13 No, it is in Connecticut though.

  • I love my 9-3! I don't know how much crap you have in your car but I've never had a problem with storage or anything you're talking about actually. Great car to drive and own!

  • I have a 9-5 Aero and I use my phone for both music and telecommunication...I just enjoy the thrill of the drive! Enjoy your baby!!

  • why do u need a cup holder in a car?,if a passenger wants to eat or drink in my car,i stops and he gets out -.- and yes i did it even with hot girls, nodody eat drink or smoke in my car and my car value is 2000 dollars

  • You are probably going to think this is a stupid question, but how tall are you? You mentioned that the car is very comfortable. I was wondering if your knees ever rub up against the dash, or anything like that. I have to agree with you, that is a beautiful car.

  • Get an iPhone. Problem solved

  • It's impossible to hot wire. So in Sweden or Detroit alot of people steal cars so they make the ignition like that so its impossible to steal.

  • you have 4 cup holders, how many do you need???

  • @mindcrime2010 Yes but two of them are in the back. It's kind of hard to use them when I'm driving the car! Maybe one additional in each door?

  • Vanrocco I lay my iPod (classic) on its side in between the trim pieces on the console to the right of the gear shift & ignition and i must say it fits there perfectly. My 9-3 is a 2006; AUX jack is in the center console so this wont prevent the cable hanging down from the dash but at least you won't have your iPod sitting on top of your phone in the cubby. It's amazing what a difference there is inside just by the location of the AUX jack!

  • @MrMBMW93 I concur! Thank you GM for the cost cutting measure; making Saab use the standard GM radio unit. I prefer the button radio and climate control layout over the 2007+ model years; the button dash is more Saab-ish.

  • I like this review mainly because you went into detail about the little things, people can say whatever in terms of being picky but at the end of the day when you drive every day for a long time those little things just pile up, I know this is true with my car

  • Quick questions:

We all know SAABS have their ignition in the center, but is there a problem with keychains and stuff jingling on the center console or maybe scratching up the material? you know what i mean? in other cars, the keys and keychains hang from the steering wheel trunk, but in this car do they move about when accelerating and breaking and make noise since they're resting around the center where the key is?

Also, too bad you didn't wait for the new Audi A4! It looks so good.

  • There are some things that you could do for your own convenience as well such as scapping your ipod in favor of just putting music on your droid x if you still have it. It comes standard with more storage space than your ipod and can be doubled with a 32gig removable sd card. This way you won't have to have two separate devices plugged in. Plus correct me if I am wrong if you connect the droid via bluetooth you can play your music through the car speakers without having to have the aux cable.

  • @ApEx1HP Bluetooth audio quality isn't very good

they will not do the Bose system justice lol

  • By the way, that click when the fob is removed/inserted is the steering wheel lock. Upon insertion, it unlocks the wheel.

  • I think the Saab is the best-looking vehicle out of all of those.

  • Only a true American would complain of a lack of cup holders

  • @DEFpanda When you spend $40K on a car it should be able to hold 50 cups nevermind only 2!

  • they use to have the aux jack between the seats under the arm,

  • you can control your ipod via the stearing wheel arrows. Fyi. Ask your dealer

  • the 2002-present Saab 9-3 was/is assembled in

Trollhättan, Sweden (sedan 2002-, wagon 2005- and convertible 2010-)

    Graz, Austria (convertible 2003-2009)

  • @ czech27, did not go off when I had to use the key

  • ok, here's my question. If say your alarm were to be on, and the battery in the key fob died, you would be able to physically unlock the door and get in, but is the alarm going to go off?

  • @czech27 Good question. ... I don't know.

  • Great review! Thank you for doing this.

  • Great review! Thanks for posting and good job bringing up the smaller "livability" details that KBB, C&D, etc. reviewers would never think of. How are you liking it now more than 6 months in?

I'll be set for a new car in another year or two; I'm going to try to snag one of the last 9-3 Aeros of this model before the completely new one rolls in.

    Thanks again.

  • This is an excellent review. You know, the "professional" reviewers never talk about these kind of flaws. This definitely changes my opinion on the 9-3. It is an excellent car, but I have a lot of little-luggage too, and my iPod music is what I live off of. The white is beautiful! It stands out and is very clean and crisp. Well until it gets dirty within an hour. haha. Hows the 4-cyl engine? I was disappointed that SAAB took out the 2.8l V6 from previous Aero 9-3's.

    & Cheers from Connecticut :)

  • @JoshskaGeorgeski The 4-cyl turbo has been great! The transmission seems to be a little sluggish but overall, it's fun to drive and it's pretty quick as well. If I could have gotten the same deal on an Audi or a Volvo S60, I probably would have bought one of those. I got $5,800 off of the sticker price and 0% financing for 60 months.

  • Very nice car. We have a 2008 9-3 aero XWD sedan but it has the 280 HP V-6. The 4 cylinder was a sluggish. This was our 11 saab since the 80's and one of the best

  • You should do a video of driving your car since there's not a lot out there of the 2.0T with the XWD

  • Great review. I own an 07 9-3 and have alot of the same complaints that you have, especially with the cables. I am also not to fond of the color of my car. Though I bought it used and silver was the only color I could find, so I guess I couldn't avoid that. Regardless, its a great car. It stands our from everyone else which is what I like the most about it.

  • Thx for the video. I used to have a 9-5 and yeah...there are a lot of weird design flaws. Turbo was great though :-)

  • Great video!! I am also in your shoes..looking at multiple cars but will take a look at Saab!! Thanks to you I will test drive one of these!!Nice car!!

  • If you push the saab symble on the back of the key then pull it out its way easyer just thought i would let you know. btw its a nice car i really want a 2007 9-3 aero.

  • Excellent , honest review Thanks Van

  • i understand your annoyance re cables and what not but it hasn't been a big issue for me in my Turbo-X.

only minor annoyances for a great car and at a great price from what you're saying. i think perfection comes at a price.

    enjoy the saab...im enjoying mine.

  • How do you like the auto transmission in paddle shift mode and in normal auto mode?

  • Hi. Nice Review!!! You could've bought a 9-5 (from 2006) on a low mileage, aero and with some really good features! I've got a 9-5 aero 2008 in silver.

  • saabs are awsome this car is great i have an 01 9-3 i love it and want the convertable model

  • Hey,

thanks for the review, I really enjoyed watching this! Congrats to this great and beautiful car!

Btw, there are reading lights in the back seat. They are housed in the front and rear overhead lights and are operated independently for the left and right passengers.

  • @Stahlbestie18 Thanks! ... I know about the overhead lights but Saab used to provide individual reading lights on each side in the back.

  • the cooled glove box is a nice feature too and the pockets on the ends of the seats

  • @balla1242 Yes, those are cool features. It took me a week to find the pockets in front of the seat and when I did, I put my wallet in there. The next day I left for work and forgot where I had out it!! I thought for a few seconds that I had lost it!!! LOL! .... When I told my 9 year old son about the pockets, he said, "I know about them. I have been using mine since you bought the car Dad!" .... Made me feel really smart!

  • Good video.

Made me laugh when explaining the cupholder.

Unfortunately GM moved the Aux from the armrest compartment to the radio, so you have them to thank.

The car looks fantastic in white btw.

  • @VVooDz Thanks! I would have liked the dark blue or the charcoal gray but I had to settle for white. I'm still trying to get used to the color but I like the car more and more every time I drive it!!

  • You have a bit misleading title - 9-3X is a different vechicle... it's a station wagon with higher ground clearance. Anyhow, older 9-3's (up and until -06) used to have the aux plugin between the seats, dunno if it would still be possible somehow to add the same wiring... probably they have changed the connectors on the radio so not likely. You could also try to check if an L-shaped connector would help with the cup holder issue.

  • @jhonkela You are absolutely correct! ... I don't know what I was thinking.
