how much in compression you running? I am running 10:7 and having the same problem with the flowmasters being to loud

@challenger706 10:7....Imagine that! Me too.  If you like the Flowmaster sound, check out their 50 series in Stainless steel, 3 inh for a Big block. I wanted to try something different....I like these, guess I'll never get a chance to try others on this car. I'm sure these will outlast the car. Guess I'll have to build another car!!!

Hi neighbor...The restore has been a life long project of mine. I do almost all the work myself. Do you go to any local car shows? Been looking to get back out. Haven't been in a while. The camera makes the car look weird. Everything looks less wide and bunched up in the middle. Guessing it's the aspect ratio. Gonna try to fix it soon.

Fontana has 2 that I know of. There is 1 on the 1st Friday of the month on Sierra and Spring St. just north of Arrow. The other is the 2nd Sat. of the month at Rotolo Chevrolet.

Did you feel any bit of a power difference after the swap. I have a 68 with 40's and i heard they dont flow good at all. I also cant stand the drone i get a certain RPMs.

@mattsauces They don't call them Dronemasters for the heck of it. All the flow and dyno charts I have seen show that just about every other muffler out flows and out performs the Flowmasters. All flowmasters do is make more noise. At this point, I can't say that there has been a power increase. The engine seems to run better with the "pull" beginning about 200 rpm lower in the power band. The X pipe maybe the reason for this. It does equal out the pulses of the exhaust.

@mattsauces Check out all the muffler comparisons and flow chart as well as dyno tests on mufflers. You'll come to the conclusion that just about any muffler will out perform the FM's. Every test shows an HP increase of 5 to 18 hp's. You may not feel that in the seat of your pants, but it will show up as lower Et's.

It's hard to hide what this car really is.  But the Dynomax Ultraflo mufflers really cleaned up the sound. On the highway and in town, there's very little drone and it's much easier to cruise without raising the dead.
