@MK4GTI20VT Someone else noticed that also. We have the boom supported on a stand just out of the view on the left side. This kills the damping affect of the suspended boom. Under normal use it does not shake like that.
Here's some "attaboy" words about this Jib from Dugas. I am so impressed with the areas of detail. Much of the hardware could have been junk from the local hardware store, NOPE, the hardware is stainless steel, brass etc. The joystick's cruise control allows you to maintain smooth panning and tilt speed while simultaneously creating smooth mechanical jib crane movement. The machine work and build quality is like artwork! It's super quiet too. Completely sets up in about 12-15 minutes. I LOVE IT!
and just to add, I really think you should add tires in case you need to move the jib around while moving the camera r something.. Just an idea if it were possible to make the wheels so stable that they would still not move unless you were trying to move them
@JonazDrumBrain It was $300 for shipping to a customer in New Zealand. So assuming that price, it would total $1870, as the price of a beta jib is 1350 and monitor is 220.
@JGByron I stopped it up to like a 5.6, all the shots with a really deep DOF are on sticks, the opening shots and the ending shots are done with another jib.
@p0pkorn88 probably 2200-2500. There is ALOT that has been improved from the jib in this video. We have added many features and improvements both because of feedback from those who have purchased a beta, and also our own ideas. Those customers so far have been very satisfied and have received their free parts and software upgrades as promised. If you buy a beta while the offer still stands, however, you will receive the jib with all the improvements but at beta price. :)
i swear this is the best rig iv seen yet period, keep it up man and i love your vids, its really cool to see how youv progressed, know im saving up for ona these as i speak
Great progression of the design up through the 3.0! This is an excellent design and should be considered "Professional" once out of the beta phase. One thing I did notice was that there is some definite inertial movements or "overshooting" when you displayed the features as well as when they were in use. This may diminish when adding more weight (the camera) or worsen; however, I do think that addition of weight on the platform or cradle or a small gyro-stabilizer might eliminate it. Smart guys!
@kjkoolio Thank you. You are absolutely right, we have already fixed that problem for the beta 3.0. Its very smooth start and stop automatically even if you just release the joystick. There is also a 'cruise control' button where you can start the pan or tilt and then press a button on the new joystick and it will hold the speed you are currently operating it at. Our customers thus far have been very pleased with these upgrades, which as explained in the video are free with the beta.
@ddfilm92 Awesome work guys! I am about to buy this piece, but before I do, do you guys send internationally? If so will pay extra as well as for fast courier and a fragile sticker on it. Fingers crossed!
Well done.
