I would like to know where in Ga this is at, I am thinking about building one but I have to be able to sell the idea to my familey and friends who will make up the biggest part of my labor help. please tell me how to find it and if it is alright for people to view.
I'm curious about the cost myself. I'll graduate from UGA in a few weeks. My family owns some land in north Georgia. I'd love to build an earthship in the next 3 or 4 years, but I have like no money at all. I've heard Mike say the coast fro the global model was comparable to conventional housing. What does that mean exactly? Are we talking over or under 250 thousand bucks?
Dontfriendinviteme.... Your wrong and need to research a little. These building are ZERO carbon foot print. Or next to it. With NO fuel or electricity the maintain an average temperature of 70 to 80 all year. The cans and bottles like the tires don't have to be seen. They can be covered
I love the esthetics of these buildings, but I'm not crazy about the restrictions of what's involved in building them. Tires? fine, but I don't want bottles & cans making up my walls. I don't want a cistern. I'd rather have solid adobe walls & well water. They should offer "hybrid" plans for those who would purchase one of these if only it they had more control over the materials used & water sources. Natural green instead of garbage green, is better than no green at all.
@DontFriendInviteMe they do. Mike can make you any sort of design you can think of. But, recycling is one of the 5 characteristics which make these homes 100% carbon zero..
i live in georgia and am getting tires as we speak did you build this house if not can you give me an email of who did for information on how to get the required permits to build in georgia
so I am almost certain I saw matt the fro, marquez equilibrium, stefan, quiet michelle that always smelt like oxy pads and man down... Earthships the best thing that ever happened to diet coke, Great job guys...miss you.

Was all this achieved in the 19 days implied by the start of the video?
HumanistWikitopian 1 year ago 3
@HumanistWikitopian that is correct, less if you count the fact that half the crew did not work on the weekends.

@murrvalous
That's impressive work!
I'm hoping to build my own Earthship inspired home one day, and this makes it seem all that more possible.
