By the way, I had both and the 202 sequencer is far too complicated and too long to get really good results, no wjite noise and not all LFO waveforms. I am very happy with my 101 although I have to admit that they sound quite similar.
Excellent demo- thanks so m. for this. I just got a 101 ($700- worth every penny). I am unable to get it to sync to my Boss DR55 which does output +5v, which is what the 101 should accept... What should my settings be on the keyboard to sync the arp or sequencer to the DR55? Thanks for any help on this...
Cool pattern. I guess logarithmic envelopes are mandatory for drum synthesis. Envelope Modulation of pitch and audio-rate modulation of VCA are also helpful to have.
For instance, handclaps are made with sawtooth modulation of VCA while sending it a bandpassed noise signal. Cymbals and hats can be made with two pulse waves detuned with dissonance, then run through a 4 pole highpass filter with generous amounts of resonance. If one pulse freq. modulates the other, even better.

@sunilsolanki not sure on the DR-55, you should measure the output with a dvm or scope to make sure its sending the signal.

If you had a choice, would you purchase the SH 101 or the MC 202?
