Yes you can get a arrested while influenced or intoxicated a bike on a bicycle. I looked it up I guess difference states handle it differently but you can get charged.

You can't ride a bike on the opposite side of the road. Even if it were on the right side of the road, you're not supposed to be IN traffic. Motorcycles, on the other hand, have the same rights, but not bicycles.

In maryland, bicycles are considered vehicles with the the same rights and responsibilities as motorists. Though you'll probably never see it happen, a cyclist can be arrested for traffic violations including driving on the wrong side of the road and driving under the influence of alcohol. (Maryland Code 21-902).

Yes you can get a arrested while influenced or intoxicated a bike on a bicycle. I looked it up I guess difference states handle it differently but you can get charged.

i sometimes do stupid things while riding in traffic( i know when it's happening!) so i have no one to blame but myself.
the bike and the body don't weight 200lbs together so if a person wants to chance it then so be it.
irk is right about the potential to cause an accident. i usually don't think about it but do observe that some folks don't know what to do when a bike is moving thru and across traffic.

Please, please, please use your head and stop this before someone gets hurt! Take your bikes off-road and drink all you want, but on-road you're putting more than your own life at risk. If you don't get in an accident, you could cause and accident, and if you don't cause an accident, you could definitely change the public perception of cyclists. Baltimore needs to change the cycling culture, and especially the public perception of bicyclists.

@mybikeisnamedtrogdor If they're in the designated bike lane, shoulder, or sidewalk, then yes. What these guys are doing, they don't have the same rights as cars. You can't ride a bike on the opposite side of the road. Even if it were on the right side of the road, you're not supposed to be IN traffic. Motorcycles, on the other hand, have the same rights, but not bicycles.

You guys that think this is great are clearly dicks. I love cycling, but I also drive. If someone had hit my mirror like that then carried on, I would have pushed you off your bike, simple as that. As a pedestrian, I would have clotheslined you as you came passed me.
Road rules are there for your safety too. I hope one day when you get knocked off you don't want any sympathy, or you'll be slightly hypocritical.
