@assa5sin No, it doesn't. Sega CD can handle sprite scaling and rotation whereas the Mega Drive can't. So it has to load a new tree when it comes closer which results in the jumping trees and signs and whatever else.

The original 1985 release had only one in-game BGM, officially titled "The Theme of Love." SHO was better in that you not only got 4 different courses to choose from, each with progressively harder difficulties and 4 pieces of BGM to choose from, your bike could also go faster by way of a turbo.

Great review. I love this game and I think it still holds up today as a bike racer. The Megadrive/Genesis version was pretty good and the pace was good also. The bike version of Outrun I always thought.

Well the Arcade Mode Bike isn't maxed out. It has only mediocre parts on it. If u max out your bike in Orginal Mode and play with it in Arcade Mode, you'll be surprised how much faster it is and how easy Arcade Mode gets because youre faster and have better handling. ;)

This game was so great. Arcades kept these machines till the death of arcades. I bet there might still be a hang on somewhere. A classic.

I love these games, but they really need an analog controller in order to hold a turn as needed.

The best way I have found to play Hang On is with Yu Suzuki's Gameworks and a a Madcatz MC2 steering Wheel, both for the Sega Dreamcast. That, or use an original Xbox controller with a Genesis emulator on the PC.

I know this may have already been pointed out, BUT, the bike is not maxed out in arcade mode. If you buy all the parts at their max in Original mode it handles a good deal better, and allows you to, with correct timing, just about never slow down.

Yes, Super Hang On sounds like a SNES game, maybe they should have called it Hang On 2, or Hang On Pro. I think my PC is having trouble with the high speed graphics in this game, the video keeps freezing while the audio keeps playing. Are you saying that Sega Released a version of Monaco GP for the MegaDrive? Oh dear, that's not good, the MonacoGP game for the Master System was absolutely horrible, the sound effects are dreadful.
