You turds talking Yngwie?James was taking lessons and making music before Ynwie showed up so the style is just what it is neo classical and Yngwie has stated that Uli Roth and Ritchie Blackmoore were his major influences so it all starts somewhere;Yngwie I've been a fan of a long time but he's had no new ideas in 25 years his music is fast but also stale where as James music can be fast but not always and he made some great songs too,both suffer writers block to me.

Amazing as always. Too bad he's not promoting himself more. He should have more videos up on Youtube here (it's free man). He's got it all, tone, technique, songwriting. Nobody knows tone like this guy. Metatron is one of my favorite songs ever too, maybe that should be a video. As for the guitar, it looks awesome, but I'm a neck-thru, 2 Humbucker, Floyd Rose kinda guy. Oh, Flying Beyond The 9 and Anthem were awesome, waiting on the all instrumental one though.

Just last week I recieved my Super Avianti from James. It is as much a piece of art as it is an instrument. Like James' playing it is classic, classy and origional.

It is gold metallic with a gold mirrored pickguard and gold hardware. The volume knobs are black and with black pickups that James had wired specially for the guitar.

That is one of the sweetest examples of neo-style playing I have ever heard. You can hear how Yngwie went the Blackmore route, and James went the Uli route. Different, but complimenteray. Man, I loved it. I think it is like Pseudo-classical instead of neo-classical.

@LeftyRobb before malmsteen there was james byrd from the fifth angel underrated guitarist n band...listen to fifth angel only 2studio album....malmsteen was influenced by him...malmsteen is the james byrd rippoff not the other way.....

@TheNizem Wrong, Fifth Angel was FORMED in 1983, by then Yngwie already had THREE albums released, one with Steeler & two with Alcatrazz and Yngwie's first solo album was released in 1984, 2nd in 1985 & 3rd in 1986. Therefore Yngwie already had SIX albums released by the time 5th Angel had their 1st. Fifth Angel's first ablum was released in 1986. It was Hendrix that inspired Yngwie to play, but it was Blackmore, Uli Jon Roth, Bach & Paganini that were his main musical influences not Byrd.
