You turds talking Yngwie?James was taking lessons and making music before Ynwie showed up so the style is just what it is neo classical and Yngwie has stated that Uli Roth and Ritchie Blackmoore were his major influences so it all starts somewhere;Yngwie I've been a fan of a long time but he's had no new ideas in 25 years his music is fast but also stale where as James music can be fast but not always and he made some great songs too, both suffer writers block to me.
I don't get it that seems to be an old Marshall should sound great, maybe its your pedals or pickups making it sound like a mosquito yuk, not pleasant to the ears.
Amazing as always. Too bad he's not promoting himself more. He should have more videos up on Youtube here (it's free man). He's got it all, tone, technique, songwriting. Nobody knows tone like this guy. Metatron is one of my favorite songs ever too, maybe that should be a video. As for the guitar, it looks awesome, but I'm a neck-thru, 2 Humbucker, Floyd Rose kinda guy. Oh, Flying Beyond The 9 and Anthem were awesome, waiting on the all instrumental one though.
James is such a good guy and was amazing in the planning and building of this guitar. He's so passionate about this guitar and no request when picking and choosing each detail was denied. I encourage every guitar player to visit James' site and to contact him personally about the Super Avianti.
Just last week I recieved my Super Avianti from James. It is as much a piece of art as it is an instrument. Like James' playing it is classic, classy and origional.
It is gold metallic with a gold mirrored pickguard and gold hardware. The volume knobs are black and with black pickups that James had wired specially for the guitar.
"The Marshall 8x10" cabinet is one of the key ingredients to the Byrd sound. The highly regarded cabinet is a monster in every way - tone, volume, bass response, weight and height. Produced from the mid 1960's to the early 1970's"

yo guys, yngwie loves this guy.says he is an amazing guitarist.coming from him that is great.james byrd you rock bro and u need to come to nyc and play a great gig.
Uncle James, this is Derek. I showed a friend in Serbia this video and your website. He said that your playing and the guitar you designed are AWESOME (his emphasis). I totally agree. :-)
Hey James, could you post some of your Atlantis Rising stuff? This is really impossible to order in music store :O I remember Into the light and Fallen Warrior, masterpieces! Thanks
i have that album its amazing!! but if you go to my profile then my friends list and go to rushisthebest2112 he has the whole album up that i let him borrow so yeah check it out
That is one of the sweetest examples of neo-style playing I have ever heard. You can hear how Yngwie went the Blackmore route, and James went the Uli route. Different, but complimenteray. Man, I loved it. I think it is like Pseudo-classical instead of neo-classical.
Such beautiful playing! James good to see a video of you; miss watching you play in person! Thanks for the years of jamming with you! I learned a lot about music by listening to you play. Truly one of the most passionate players of our time.
I love your guitar design and tone! It looks like its made with real 'quality craftmensship' and the tone is really smooth and creamy, matched with your great playing!!
Every time I watch this it keeps getting better ! Bryd has got a whole different feel than Yngwie and His sound is better if you ask me ! He has a more crunchy midrange at least on this video !
If Malmsteen is a close friend and really pays respect to him ...then it's enough proof of how great Byrd is........he's not a Malmsteen ripoff at all.....
James is awesome, if you've never seen him before or heard his music please don't judge him based on this video, he's not just another Malmsteen ripoff.
@LeftyRobb before malmsteen there was james byrd from the fifth angel underrated guitarist n band...listen to fifth angel only 2studio album....malmsteen was influenced by him...malmsteen is the james byrd rippoff not the other way.....
@TheNizem Wrong, Fifth Angel was FORMED in 1983, by then Yngwie already had THREE albums released, one with Steeler & two with Alcatrazz and Yngwie's first solo album was released in 1984, 2nd in 1985 & 3rd in 1986. Therefore Yngwie already had SIX albums released by the time 5th Angel had their 1st. Fifth Angel's first ablum was released in 1986. It was Hendrix that inspired Yngwie to play, but it was Blackmore, Uli Jon Roth, Bach & Paganini that were his main musical influences not Byrd.
LOL!!! Theres actual footage of Yngwie back in 1978 and in 1978 NOBODY knew of Byrd.So get your facts straight before spitting out bullshit.Black Star was composed in 1979.
Finally a video of this guitar master on Youtube....it's a shame just one... for such a superb guitarist. I love Metatron 444.....for everyone who likes something in the vein of Malmsteen...amazing guitar work..
James you Rock ! Nice guitars bro I am building as well ! Like your combo Schenker meets Roth Hendrix , Malmsteen and BYRD too ! Oh yeah Your platying is 5 stars as well !!!!! Keep playing and keep inventen !
