I called the iriver company and was told you must plug the device into your computer to recharge it, similar to an ipod. I have the T10, which is no longer available unfortunately, and it uses 1 AA battery. T7 is good because it does not use wires for downloading, acts like a thumb drive, but unlike the T10, you will need to plug it into your computer to recharge the battery.

nice product, bad review. it gets +10 for OLED, color-scheme, and concept, but sadly, it's a bit oddly shaped and kinda bulky compared to what i would normally spring for. not even mentioning the kinda odd menu and button style.
