Consequent trial put the full blame on pilot error, and both distinguished pilots wree sentenced to severe jail terms (14 and 5 years respectively). Pilots defended themselves by having poor flightplans, lack of data on the airshow and the area, and not having been allowed practise runs. The crash happened at Lviv AFB, killing 75 people.TBC

That wasnt the crew's fault. if you listen to he comm recordings, its clear that there was an engine malfunction, and last 20 seconds the pilos were trying to pull the plane away from the crowd. they were ejected automaticly as the fighter first touched the ground

@dragonfirestudios The pilot miscalculated the altitude, he forgot the altitude of the airfield, and so he thought that he got more space, but when he realized that he`s gonna crash he tryed to convert the speed of the aircraft by doing a roll so the speed becomes horizontal movement. Its too bad 80 people died and 100 were injured, But the pilot survived
SU37 is one of the most powerfull planes in existance its manuvering characteristics are unmatched by anything on this earth, and yet if you give it to a hotshot moron he will end up doing this same as giving a brand new ferrari to a 16 year old. They got light sentences 14 years for pilot and 8 for navigator. I guess their biggest sentence is living with a knowledge that you have killed 85 people and it was your fault.

Ukrainian military have a lot of Soviet fighters, but they had very little fly! Pilots do not have the skills and allow for many mistakes aerobatics. At the end of this video you can see the transport planes IL- 76. I heard that he was filled with fuel and did not explode by sheer luck!

Whoa... what is this??? Did you edit the video or something? This is 2 different crashes. It begins with Lvov, with the plane coming low and the wing dragging on the tarmac. But the Lvov plane did not tumble and flip. Instead, it slid along the ground and the nose clipped another small plane, like Mig 21. Then it slid into a larger plane on it's belly and exploded.
This video shows the plane tumbling all over the place. And honestly? I don't see a chute at Lvov. But I am crazy.
It's the ejection seat after pilot/seat separation. What you are seeing is the size of a large recliner. A head would be too small to see at that distance, however, there were a LOT of heads that flew that day. RIP poor bystanders.
I saw the entire footage, and I can say that it's SO terrible in such a way, with peaces of human bodies all over the ground, people cryng for help and so on... God keep their souls in peace, no suffering for now. Kind of irresponsability, put human lives under a big risk of death. :(

gudginh by the first second of clip, it seems it was a heavy side wind! you can look closely and see how suddenly the maneuver gets choppy! and close to the land still the left wing leans down, which means the wind is coming from the right side! watch more carefully and you would notice that pilot is pulling to the right, but hopelessly! :(
Yes the air shows should not have any acrobatics in the path of the crowd, it looks like poor event planning as well as some other error caused this. And you are right god bless those poor people, kids and adults alike very traumatic.

air shows are a wonderful and fun tradition; high risk manuevers are not. in recent years, my local air show (WWII Weekend in Reading, PA) has been excellent every time while keeping the crazy aerobatics to a minimum.

gudginh by the first second of clip, it seems it was a heavy side wind! you can look closely and see how suddenly the maneuver gets choppy! and close to the land still the left wing leans down, which means the wind is coming from the right side! watch more carefully and you would notice that pilot is pulling to the right, but hopelessly! :(

Yes the air shows should not have any acrobatics in the path of the crowd, it looks like poor event planning as well as some other error caused this. And you are right god bless those poor people, kids and adults alike very traumatic.

air shows are a wonderful and fun tradition; high risk manuevers are not. in recent years, my local air show (WWII Weekend in Reading, PA) has been excellent every time while keeping the crazy aerobatics to a minimum.
