i do not want to be disrespectful or anything as i really apreciate native american culture even tough i am romanian, but listening to this song while high really helps you get more in touch with the music and create an image of life might have been then. Thumbs up for you up !
@Iepure91 yea weed can make most good music even better but when i think about how beautiful the native culture was and how it was destroyed it makes me incredibly deppressed i would give anything to restore their old ways of life i would have loved to be a nomad travelling the plains and hunting bison
preciosa cancion...simplemente te deja sin palabras....con solo escucharla se convierte en una parte de ti.......todo el repeto del mundo para ustedes para su musica y por su cultura.......que siempre vivira en cada uno de nosotros
I was so dissapointed when in canada that the first nation people do not really have homes as the did in times gone, with the tents and, the story telling and living out on the prairies, i was told not to go near any that where around as they were not safe, that really saddened me that these people had lost there cultural homes and were possibly forced into the western society........i would so love to go live the life they lived in the past, it speaks to me of peace
I'm native American and I'm trying to find out the holidays we celebrate. Do we celebrate the spring and autumn equinoxes and the summer and winter solstices? I read online that we do. What else do we celebrate?
@gerbilsrock55 Most of the things that were celebrated had nothing to do with modern holidays. As far as my tribe goes, most celebrations had to do with seasons, harvests, moon cycles, etc.. All things had importance in the survival of our people and the actions to insure it. So much has been lost to modern convenience, but to celebrate something is a personal choice. I would suggest some research for your tribe to see what you can find and try to incorporate some into your current life.

@gerbilsrock55 well i live in a VERY traditional family, but i haven't celebrated stuff such as that. if you want to know more about things like that mail me.
lol just a note from someone living in a native american high population state, I would say its almost an insult to the natives to show a 1700's-1800's style church. The catholic church was doing some real vile things to native people during those times. 3 of the largest genocides in American history took place here in New Mexico as a result of the catholic and anglo ethnic cleansing
@skinnywhop87 Thanks I think. I live in New Mexico too, a Native in both senses of the word. Many modern Pueblo dances and ceremonies are held at the old spanish churches. My videos are never meant to be taken Literally, nor is my music, they are what is called intepretations, my interpretations. Do you have some videos up? Thanks for commenting.
Yeah i understand what you mean, but yeah i have a few vids up, lol actually have one called "Religious Respect?" it's about the topic of the pueblo revolts
Art triggers emotions, but I guess it is opinion to feel it insulting as it truly depicts the times. I think us Native Peoples across this country need to find something positive within in order to give postive to each other and to our communities and stop dwelling in a past that we cannot change, but to cherish what is left and regain things that are almost lost.
There are still those that cherish this Earth we call home. It WILL be here, for years to come. All hope is not lost, for a dream cannot die if there are still those alive that remember, and keep such dreams. And, the spirits reside in us, we who take only that which we need, and leave behind that which may flourish again.
I am so blessed to have been born one-half Creek/Cherokee and am so very proud of my heritage.
