  • These guys did a great cover back in the daysand still could cover it after all those years.

  • Great song and just awesome performance by Peter & Gordon. RIP Gordon. You will be sorely missed by many.

  • Anyone can tell this is live. They still sound great if you could hear them over the ridiculously loud band. RIP Gordon

  • @Okiemom50 Sorry for the sound quality. I was seated up front near one of the monitor speakers for the band, so my camera microphone picked up the instruments over the vocals. The mix the audience heard was actually quite good and balanced.

  • I like their voices at this stage of their lives than when they were young and in their heyday. Their voices are richer. Thanks for this post.

  • Waller died on July 17, 2009, at the age of 64.

  • "Decade of American Male Hope" et al.

  • I sure remember this song which was released in 1965. It was a few weeks before my 14th birthday. If I remember correctly, the song went straight to No. 2 on the British chart (it was called Hit Parade then). I don't think it reached No. 1 though. (I stand corrected). It was through this song that I learnt about the talented Buddy Holly, the great song writer. RIP Buddy and Gordon.

  • This is my favorite slow dance song of all times!!! And now I get to dance to it with a wonderful man whom I reconnected with in July at a 40th high school reunion!!!

  • Who wrote Lady Godiva.. was it an original song of Peter and Gordon ?

  • Thanks for the post.

  • Awwwwww, that was great!

  • Saw these guys at Casino Rama---tore the place apart and stayed for autographs later!

  • always liked their songs ... but ... no offense ... time was not kind to these 2 ... look like they're 83 years old.

  • I was very blessed to have seen them perform this twice. RIP Gordon Waller. They don't make them like you two anymore. What a beautiful song! They did Buddy proud. Thanks, Gene for posting this!

  • superbe chanson!!!

  • Wonderful video: from a buddy Holly fan and peter and Gordon fan who was around listening in the 50s and 60s and played all the hits in the 60's and 70's in radio.

  • hi gene my dear friend this is greta video rip gordon. and gen thank u for the wonderful cd i recieved in the post a few weeks ago love sue ( dollybird on pn)

  • Oh....how much I miss the 1960's when I was very small...

  • Fabulous!

  • *5(¸.•´(¸.•´awesome`•.¸)` •.¸)5*applause

  • Well...they didn't do as bad in this one as the other. Gone are the times of lip sinking.

  • What is "the other" that this one is not as bad as? And what is your "lip sinking " reference? Do you mean lip-synching? This, as well as all of my videos are shot live. Often when a video is uploaded to youtube, the synchronization between sound and video is degraded.

  • @ladybug195

    Lip Sinking ???

Ha ha ha what the fuck is that ?

Don`t you mean lip synching ?

    You can sink a ship,but you can`t sink a

    lip.

  • @Chimbo65

    Loose lips synch ships!

  • brill memories mmmmmmm

  • I have always thought the song title was no true love waits ...I dont understand the whole true love ways ...

  • @gregorylee888 What could you possibly not understand about true love ways? When someone loves you, the way they treat you, shows their love for you.

  • This was the greatest song of all in Buddys wonderful catalogue of melodies. One of the most sincere love songs ever written, by a doe eyed young man, at what would have been only the very beginning of his carreer. Time and time again will we forever ponder what Buddy would have achieved in the Merseybeat era of the Swinging Sixties, a decade that he almost single-handedly shaped into musical fruition. Peter and Gordons beautiful harmonic blend would have been music to Buddys ears.....Majestic.

  • Well said. Truer words were never spoken.

  • Great to see someone recorded this. It is truly one of my favourite Buddy Holly songs and then to hear the very last Peter and Gorden concert ever in Santa Monica! Great to have been there!

  • Such a reverential, gentle tribute to Buddy.

And we just saw you in Clear Lake, Iowa five months ago singing your heart out at the 50th commemorative of the 'day the music died'.

    Rest in peace, Gordon.

  • Gordon Waller 1945-2009 RIP

  • Well done ..of course Buddy was the first,But Peter and Gordon did a great Job!, i truly love both versions... Thank's for the post

  • I had the privilege of being at the crash site with about 15 other individuals, 50 years to the minute that their lives were taken...a truly emotional thing. The next day I went back and was talking to someone about where the bodies lay and after we pointed out the Big Bopper and Buddy, we realized we were standing where Ritchie was laying 50 years ago to the minute that we were there..... We both moved to the side..... Just didnt feel right to stand there.

  • Awesome song, Buddy Holly was a great song writer. I can't even imagine what he would have written if he had a longer life. His songs still sound fresh to this day.

  • Fact is, the real secret to just why these songs still stand against time is because they evoke some deep stuff within us all when it comes to love and all that. The Beatles were sucxh masters of all that too. No one better. This and 'Woman' were some great love songs. Jeebus, did I just say that mr. tough guy?? Lol. Great stuff just the same.

  • I love their version, especially the studio version, as much as I loved Buddy Holly's version. These two harmonized so beautifully that its heartbreaking listening to it. Its odd to see them like this (aged) when I remember them being on the Patty Duke show back in the 60's. Hard to imagine time has aged us all. Just so hard to see them now when i still have the images of them when they were so very young. But anyway, beautiful song.

  • That was Chad and Jeremy that appeared on Patty Duke. Not Peter and Gordon.

  • omg awesome.AAA +++

  • beats all your crappy songs off today

  • Definitely, these were songs that one could sing to, dance to, and fall in love to. When listening to tunes like this I think everyone has a picture of that special someone, whether the other person knows it or not, pop into their head and we find that it seems impossible to make them leave.

  • These Chaps are still fantastic ! Thanks for the post .

  • My favorite Peter and Gordon song...beautiful still.

  • I'm old enough to remember Buddy Holly singing this song, Peter & Gordon singing this song, and now the old Peter & Gordon singing this song. Well done every time.

  • Very beautiful song... I absolutely adore the fact that they reunited.

  • Peter and Gordon look like they got a little older. Duh.

Acutally, it's good to see them again. Buddy Holly sure has had alot of dedicated Fans over the years.

    Best wishes

    Jerry

  • better to look older than dead. Buddy Holly was a tremendous influence in the Rock and Roll world. So good to see Peter and Gordon back on the road. Peter Asher is the read head with glasses..

  • wow....way good after all these years...one of my favorite songs!!

  • nice to here these songs again well done eugenebo from bolocke

  • a super duet now and then. the quality and sensibility are everlasting.
