Played before Haven and Trammel, my son grew up and even plays now. Free shards are not played. UO is very fun to explore now with updates from the latest extensions. UO is very fun after my five year rest! Thank You!

R.I.P UO.... this will be the best game ever done... i realy miss the pass i have enjoyed this game with my friends, but now noone play from them. Its a pity, but this game need too much time, and u cant play forever if u wanna get a life xD.

If they could make a new Ultima Online, whithout destroy the essence of the game, it could be great.

@ Ilikewarhammer, i quit for the reason WoW came out in 2 double0 5 and i got hooked and played until about 2007... then i quit and looked back at UO's graphics and i just could not bare going back to them... UO's engine was b4 it's time but the graphics were not... UO FOREVER

Uo was a social phenomena during the first three years when it came out 97-2000. If you played during that time, you were simply part of something special and it can never be brought back. You can play, the new version, you can play other mmo's, or even free shards but nothing will compare. You know what to expect, uo was special at that time because it was simply a new world that sucked you in, and it was nothing that you expected. I will forever remember those days, but I will never play again

Nice pic of Skara Brae Counselors Guild at 0:50. I play a small shard now a free one, called UOAntiquity. Mostly a pre-ren era shard, but gosh, only 40-50 people are usually online. I wish it could grow, hah, Just give UO one last good shard. And let the ownage roll on once more. Even the biggest free shards are dying. About 5 years ago, I remember at least 20 free shards of over 200 players, now there are probably 5.

I loved UO so much.. miss it and every so often I find myself coming back for a month or two.

I had played since 1998 during the t2a release, my brother actually got me interested in it strangely enough (he was 11 at the time, I was 17 teenage girl going into my senior year of high school). Ah, so many hours lost during my last year of high school. So much so I don't remember it at all, lol.

Now WoW claims my life. Damn addictions.

It's CRAZY how many memories of UO I have, and how much I miss it sometimes.

I and a few friends applied and received beta CDs back in '97. The feelings I remember of exploring this new world and meeting people and sharing the excitement was just...incredible. There truly was nothing else like it.

In early 2000s it started to get pretty lame with all the kids turning it into way too much of a PK-fest where you couldn't trust anyone, but I still played for a few more years. Miss it a TON...

Anyone who is interested in a game that might continue in the spirit of Ultima Online would do well to check out Mortal Online. It is about to go into public beta phase and will be released in Q4 2009.

Fingers crossed that this game does it well.

my dad plays darkfall and its not that bad, they just introduced housing.. but its not customizable...(but i dont think any game can be as customizable as UO). Well uo was a masterpiece, so comparing any game is very hard. but back to the point darkfall is pretty cool but it wont get known unless it makes a trammel to get the care bares happy UO wasnt a carebearish game like WoW, cuz u could get fully looted even by a mob, u die in WoW nothing, die in darkfall, ur screwed.Darkfall in U.S soon

i miss UO so much, my dad stopped playing, so he stopped paying for me and his account.
