  • You have a very good feeling for it indeed.

To make it even better, you need to loosen up your arm, shoulder, (etc. etc.) muchly. Your sound is tense in this recording, and not just on the 2 climaxes - everywhere! The melody, too, will sustain more, and naturally, as a result of a more relaxed approach to technique.

Good luck! And I agree - it is an absolutely gorgeous piece! I don't like his other major works much (too cluttered, a structural mess!), but the Fantasie is just stunning.

  • Thanks for listening! I began playing this piece again last month. This time I was more relaxed, and like you said the melody sustained more naturally. Also, since my fingers knew where to go, I could be more expressive in my playing.

It seems like there is no shortcut to get to a more relaxed playing. I will definitely work on this piece periodically and when it gets significantly better, I'll make a new recording.

    Thanks for the feedback.

  • This is great!

  • Thanks!

  • You always look so wonderfully at peace with yourself when you play Anand. Just you and your piano and nothing else in the world interfering with the enjoyment you are experiencing. I love that.. I really enjoyed this piece too. You have beautiful emotion there and gave it the effort it deserves. Keep happy and dedicated. Lots of stars from me.

    Love

    Lalita
