I lived In Inverness for 4 very long years & I can honestly say that living there taught me all about the true definition of prejudice & racism. What the town planners should do is put up a sign at the city limits stating that "FOREIGNERS ARE NOT ALLOWED HERE."

So this is a warning to all foreign nationals wanting to move here - DON'T. Your accent will 9 times out of 10 classify you in the locals eye's as sub human, but of course, racism doesn't exist in Scotland, no.....

old good Inverness.. I've spent there about less than a year of my life and I can't say I regret it. When I stayed there I've had this oppoprtunity to visit pretty much of Scotland with Edinburgh, Glasgow, Isle of Skye,Hebrides and so on. Their severe landscapes and overhelming silence it's just something that I'll never forget. Beautiful. That's pity but I missed Shetlands and Orkneys unfortunately. maybe next time! greetz to friends from cactus jacks and other crazy places where I used to go!

My mother and grandparents came from Inverness, and we used to visit once or twice a year (from the south of England) when i was young. We ended up l=moving there in 1976, and lived on Island Bank Road, next to the River Ness.

Been going to Inverness all my life, my mother and half my family is from there, we lived there for about ten years at one point, and my aunts all had the Gaelic.

@flygweilo I was born and bred in Inverness and still stay here. You are right it is sadly English with a Scottish dialect. It was predominantly Galelic before the pacification, and the 1872 act did not help either. Now its an invernesian dialect. Apparently we speak the Queen's English.

fantastic town... i grew up there and loved every minute of it. Hopefully "warlockownage" wakes up an appreciates it for what it is...maybe get out of inverness and see the world then be thankful you came from inverness! And if you happen to be from Hilton or some other grease spot in Inverness get the hell out and enjoy what is around Inverness like the south end of Loch Ness..Findhorn or even Cromarty and get away from your playstation!
